If you are at the point of experimenting, I’d wipe the drive and try a fresh install of Windows 10. I’ve had pretty good results doing so and have had it run pretty decently on an old dual-core AMD processor with 3GB RAM. I did use a small SSD however which did add some speed over a mechanical HD.

Easiest to check is change the port on the switch, I presume more than two ports, and see what happens. Also, swap laptop and desktop ports and see if the problem follows the port or device. I presume you’ve rebooted the desktop (just in case).

I see it says earn 3000 points “on your next birthday” so it’s not actually entering the date it seems to be wait for the date to receive the points.

Agreed. I need to follow up on the Digital Wallets to see if it may substitute. If nothing else I used it to generate a card with really low credit limits when I purchased some stuff or subscribed.

Basically look for a USB WiFi adapter as stated above some are available for under $10 in some cases.

I think your deciding factor for speed will be what the location offers but certainly not over the maximum data rate will be 30-40 megabytes per second (USB 2.0 and half-duplex).

I’m almost certain I’ve attempted twice in the past for a free sample and have yet to receive anything. I do admit once they replied that “due to overwhelming response” they ran out, etc. Oh well, that’s what ball point pens were made for.

I suspect many of us have account(s) at Ally. I’ve used them for a couple of years and hold multiple accounts without issue. I was hesitant about an “Internet” Bank but so far it’s worked out fine and they do rank near the top of Interest paying accounts.

Looks like a security certificate expired effective today (June 2nd). I came here looking for some explanation from the powers to be like when it will be renewed, etc.

I misread the sign yesterday when I was in Lowe’s. I thought it was save $5 OFF $500 and I thought “Big Deal, 1% discount”. Doh!

Just grabbed this. I rarely mail things but working out to .27 cents per stamp I figured why not.

I just sort of figured out the formula and created a really simply spreadsheet and it looks even with adding the prior months Interest into the principal and compute the next month interest on increased balance it still is less at the end of 12 months than the CD. I guess I needed a reminder of the definition of “APR”

I readily admit I’m not the smartest person AND I’ve attempted to research the question. Please be gentle. In any case…a person wants to compare how much interest would be earned/paid when comparing a Savings Account vs 1 yr CD. Say a Savings Account shows 2.2% vs. High-Yield 1 yr CD of 2.75%. Both compound daily yet the CD only pays the interest at the end of the term and the Savings Account credits/deposits the earnings monthly. Presume money won’t be needed for the term of the CD so gut response would be buy CD for higher yield. However, I feel the compounding effect of the Savings account, each month increasing balance, would reduce the benefit of the slightly increased interest rate. I’ve attempted to find a formula to compare but have been unable to do so. Perhaps I’m not seeing how to look at this but really I’ve tried. Even broke out the spreadsheet and played. Thoughts?

First tablet I ever bought was a Hisense Sero 7 pro from WalMart. I believe they were the exclusive vendor for the product and sort of equated Hisense with WalMart like Insignia with Best Buy. Worked great until one day it wouldn’t power up. Still have it and will explore further at some point (already checked battery).
