The Twinings tea is a great deal. Buy 3 boxes for $3, that’s like 3 for the price of one.

Daily Goodie Box - Interact On Social Media, Get a Box of Goodiesposted in GPT
Daily Goodie Box sends out boxes of unique and high-quality samples. Interact with Daily Goodie Box on Facebook, Twitter and/or Instagram, by liking commenting, sharing, tweeting using #DailyGoodieBox, and you may be chosen to receive a box of samples & full-size products. Being active on social media increases greatly, the odds of you being picked. Each month, Daily Goodie Box sends out a new box of goodies to it’s members. Positive social media posts, and completion of product surveys, is needed in order to be selected. Boxes are also given based on profile - but by being active on their social media platforms, your chances of getting a box are greater.

This is my first box from them, looking forward to future ones. I follow them on FB, and reply to posts there. They just randomly picked me in one post they made.

@tuskers said in FREE Hello Sweet Mint or Activated Charcoal Toothpaste:
How about we keep the comments on topic, I think questions as to it being posted here early (True by the way) are better served through private messages
You brought that up here, not I. My point it that it is irrelevant, it should not have been brought up at all.
I would also suggest quoting other boards (mine was a reply to your reference to another board) also doesn’t usually serve this board. I know it was usually not tolerated at FW
I simply mentioned I saw it earlier on H4F prior to seeing it here. And then pointed out that the the freebie stated 100,000 & there is no choice. There was no “quoting of other boards”,did you see quotations marks or a direct quote from H4F? FW disallowed full mention of competing boards, acronyms were always allowed. You could say “SD”, you could not say S_______ D____s. I’ve use H4F for many years on FW, never had an issue with a mod.
Please PM me with any concerns or further discussion on this matter
How about you either agree that my interpretation (and pretty much that of H4F & multiple other freebie boards) is that the T&C states that giveway ends when all 100,000 valid entrants have been claimed (therefor “1st 100,000” is accurate and should be in title), or you don’t, in which case you need to contact a mod to move this to “Contests”, since if it’s not 1st 100,000, it’s a random giveaway that is in the wrong forum.
There isn’t anything else to discuss, it’s either “1st 100,000” which belongs in the the OP title, or the entire post belongs in Contests.
-
RE: FREE Hello Sweet Mint or Activated Charcoal Toothpaste if chosenposted in Expired CSG Deals
@tuskers The language is in the T&C: “This offer covers one (1) free .85oz of hello sweet mint or charcoal fluoride free toothpaste, including shipping costs. Approximate Retail Value: $0.50. This offer also covers eligibility to receive a free year’s supply (4 tubes) of 4.2oz of hello sweet mint or charcoal fluoride free toothpaste, including shipping costs. Approximate Retail Value: $12.00. OFFER IS AVAILABLE WHILE SUPPLIES LAST.”
They are giving away samples to everyone who signs up, the offer applies until supplies are gone, with up to 100,000. Everyone wins a sample, 25 random folks win a year’s supply. That’s why other forums are saying “1st 100,000”.
“Offer term: October 31, 2017@ 9am EST through November 31, 2017 @ 11:59am EST, or until 100k users have been confirmed as winners.”
This is pretty standard language, they have to verify the submissions that are legitimate. Many discard submissions from a bot, multiple submissions from the same source, incomplete submissions, etc. Once they have reached 100,000 legitimate entries, or 11/31/2017, whichever comes first, giveaway ends. It’s that language that makes this a FS post, If it was random picks of 100,000, out of all submissions, this would be the wrong forum, and it would belong in a sweeps/contest forum.
You made the comment, “H$F posted this at 4pm, 40 minutes after it was posted here.” What is the point? Why bring it up? There are 100’s of freebie boards, blogs. FB freebie groups, etc. Everybody posts at different times, and everybody posts stuff from other boards. Also, note that these same freebie places are in different time zones, so you can’t always go by time stamps. The people following the various boards don’t care if a competing board posted it 40 minutes earlier. It’s not important to post to state that you posted it first.
If people prefer a particular board, such as SD, or H4F, and one posts before the other, the people following one risk missing out if the board posts later than a competing one. Most know that, hence they follow more than one board. The comment comes across as smarmy, because I stated I signed up through H4F earlier. I visit H4F more than here, Michelle does this full time, and in most cases, her blog gets the earliest post. I don’t care that you allegedly posted it 40 minutes earlier, it circumvents from the point I was making.
If you don’t believe the T&C wording indicates 1st 100k gets the sample, then why is it in FS? You either agree that it does, and it belongs in the OP, or it’s a contest with 100k being randomly given away, and you posted in the wrong forum.

RE: FREE Hello Sweet Mint or Activated Charcoal Toothpaste if chosenposted in Expired CSG Deals
@tuskers Is there a posting war as to who posts it 1st? Why does it matter who posted 1st?
I don’t check PWF as often as I do H4F, so I did this when I saw it there. On FW, 1st 100,000 or 1st 100k would typically be in the title, the inability to choose which would be in the body of the post. It’s about making informed posts. The point being made was about having needed info in the posts, not about who posted 1st.
The info comes straight from the sign-up page, “we’re giving away 100,000 samples of our awesome fluoride free toothpastes”, is right at the top of the form. At the bottom it says, “*please note we cannot guarantee which of the two products you will receive.”

ANF sent high-quality Italian-made 100 year Fatima anniversary rosaries to those on their & TFP & RtO’s mailing list. The beads are stone, not glass or plastic. These are different from the free ones often offered on the website. Since I’m on their mailing list, because I have signed petitions for TFP & RtO, I received the rosary, and recently the calendar.

The exact same action I am taking here
So if they were not reposts at FW and we have the same rules here, why are they reposts now? Here’s the quote from me you missed, “On FW they were posted once.” Once! Someone pointed out that some found that certain codes worked again, a YMMV experience. This was a one-time thing that many took advantage of when it 1st appeared on FW. This was probably due to a glitch from when KFR made changes to the program and website, one which apparently wasn’t fixed. There wasn’t a repeat post 2 months later stating the same thing.
You already posted them 2 months ago, rsuaver quoted your post. Pretty much everyone here already did the second time around thing when it 1st appeared on FW. There is no 3rd time. That’s why Connman & MrVietnam got the messages they reported. jamesfatwallet & rsuaver reported the same when these were posted 2 months ago.
Please stop deleting post content. It was frowned upon in FW, & I suspect it is here too, in fact fivetalents stated as such to bobbiebell.

Moving this to hot deals BTW due the value (cost of movie rentals can easily exceed $10, especially if you load up your DVR).
FW always kept these in FS, not HD. Reason being the value of the premium service, prorated to the number of days you have access, is actually less than $10. MrsG posted an On Demand marathon for FIOS customers https://phatwalletforums.com/topic/2226/verizon-fios-free-on-demand-marathon-nov-10-20 , that includes free movie rentals of select films, in this forum. That one would probably have been mirrored in FW, because FIOS rentals are $5 each.
I appreciate the points you made but IMHO, if you have to spend money to get it (i.e., be a subscriber), it is not a true freebie, in addition to the reasons I previously stated. Being able to mirror threads would be ideal, but this feature is not yet available here. In lieu of mirroring, I’ll leave this thread here in HD and mention this thread in MrsG’s FS thread that you linked, that way both posts will be somewhat represented in both forums.
Your reasoning applies even more to MrsG’s thread, you have to be a subscriber to FIOS to get the On Demand freebies. If you watch just 2 free movies available, you’ve watched the value of $10, as most movies available through On Demand are at least $5 normally. If you load up your VCR with free On Demand content, the value easily exceeds the $10 threshold. If you’re going to move one, then you should move both, as the same criteria applies.
Most here came from FW, and FrugalFreak has pretty much used FW FAQ’s. MrsG & I went by FW FAQ & mod policy there. I believe the reason FW left them in FS, is that you aren’t putting out any additional money. FW followed a similar policy for Netflix & Hulu. Perhaps staff should discuss this and decide where they belong, & add it to the FAQ?

The majority here are from FW, and did this when 1st posted there. Are you now going to post these every 2 months (I hope not)? Again, no need to post these yet again. At one point many found you could enter the last 3 again, even if you did before (this worked for me when this info was 1st posed on FW, I think 2 of the 3 worked). This is a very big YMMV. RE: Free Invention Kitposted in Free Stuff
This same link has been sent out in several DailyGoodieBox emails, and is probably where the original source got it from. I’ve seen it multiple times in DGB emails I receive. There are several companies that are similar, they too offer ‘free’ guides/kits. See BING search for several.
With all, information is free, interested companies will contact you. If you choose to work with a particular company, to bring your idea to market, obviously that company is going to assess a fee. I’ve done some research regarding obtaining patents, copyrights, manufacturing your idea, marketing your product, etc It can be daunting, and not something the average person can do. The companies affiliated with these websites know the required steps & process.
I would suggest that someone serious about bringing an idea to fruition, search Google/BING and try several sources. Until/unless you choose to work with a company, there is no upfront cost. The ‘free kits’ just help you do what needs to be done; to get the company you choose to work with, the information needed to get your idea to product development, then advertising and marketing it.
The kits, according to the various websites offering this, are provided by the companies that are interested in your idea - but they need information, sketches, schematics, descriptions, details, etc. in a format that is suitable for obtaining things like a patent and/or a copyright. A patent is issued for your original invention, a copyright for your original product name. Any fees, and how they are paid, probably are stated in the kit.
Anywhoo… here’s a DIY source, that is Finance Forum worthy, from NOLO, no lawyer needed. Good info as far as what you need to know, and the cost involved. More stuff from BING on obtaining patents.

This isn’t really a ‘sample’, it’s a promotional item. ‘Sample’ implies a ‘try before you buy’ item, which many products do to encourage purchase of the item, if you like it. A promotional item is used to promote a brand/product. In this case, it’s the National Pork Board promoting pork consumption. Delete the word ‘sample’ from title, it doesn’t apply.

Well, the Whois is solid. Nothing shady-looking there. And I see fivetalents provided multiple resources in links. This has been around, it was posted on FW in the thread about the Equifax breach in Finance. It’s a reputable website, but it’s always a good idea to check its Whois and it’s history & status via a Google/Bing search, when in doubt. The crooked scammer sites are usually dead giveaways, often by perusing their Whois alone.
