I just checked my reward status for no particular reason. I saw this notice (banner) at the top of the page:
“Given the current environment, we wanted to ensure members could continue to redeem rewards so we have extended redemption dates. If you earned a Reward in the month of February or March you have an extra month to redeem Rewards. All rewards are redeemable in-store and online”

Staples is accepting empties by mail instead of in person. In the past recycling by mail has been problematic but maybe they’ll fix it when they get an influx.

Sent. Yesterday received emails w/ new $25/$75’s. Presumed they’d be the same codes as sent on Monday but they’re not-- I checked the numbers. They’re sending them with shorter expiration dates. The ones sent on Monday (3/30) expired on 4/1. The ones sent 4/2 expire on 4/5.
How to get codes? I think they’re coming because I order as a guest and use different email addresses when I place kiosk orders instead of using the email attached to Rewards acct. I’ve done this when shipping to friends or ordering something that’s limited to one per Rewards acct. – either the item is limited or the coupon code is L1.
order 1: Order as a guest with my real name & address but email address #1. Use a single use/acct coupon code like the $15/$60. Ship to sister. Pay at register where I enter my Rewards number and often pay w/Rewards.
order 2: Order as guest w/ my name address but email address #2. Use $15/$60 code. Ship to friend. Pay at register where I enter my Rewards info and pay w/ Rewards.
order 3: you get the ideaEmail addresses 1, 2 and 3 receive $25/$75 codes and emails telling them how far they are from earning Premier. The email associated with my Rewards acct (Premier) gets codes but not as often as the non-Reward email addresses. My dad’s Plus acct never receives codes.

@dionaea Consider searching the Amazon Warehouse for a generic drum to use in your Brother laser, vs. buying one from Staples.
I may be lucky, but I’ve had great success ordering “used” generic drums for Brother printers (condition “Very good” or “Like new”) that way, and at a small fraction of the price of a genuine Brother drum.
Usually it’s just a packaging issue, e.g. wrinkle on box, with the drum still sealed in a plastic bag. Same deal with generic Brother toner cartridges. To top it off, if you have Prime there’s no shipping fee. YMMV of course.

Thanks for the tip, UkeDog. The drum and the toner are both expensive, so if it’s just a minor exterior problem and the drum is not damaged, it would sure help the budget. I do have Prime, so that helps a lot. I normally don’t take a chance on generic for my printer since it’s essential for my SOHO. Just checked the price on Amazon for the Brother Genuine Drum Unit, and it’s only a couple dollars cheaper than Staples. The generic off-brands are less than half that price.

@dangeruss Coupon can’t be used on HP or Epson so if you want to buy eg Canon or Brother it should work. If you can wait a day or 2 I should know if I’m getting more $25/$75’s this week.
The T&C of the coupon code are L1 per acct. I’ve gotten around that by using different email addresses that don’t have Staples accts. Its those addresses that receive email coupons.
