Does anyone know if I can use prepaid Visas or Mastercards to buy gift cards at Rite Aid, such as this Home Depot gift card?
-
@mistercheap Do these count toward Gold status? I think RA cards do, but I can’t remember about others.

Should work Mr. V, nothing to lose, if the POS system rejects them, just ask them to void the order and say adios!

Not sure, but I tend to think they will count toward Gold status. I plan on buying $100 worth on 2 different Wellness cards tomorrow morning. I will post when I get home if it raised my point balance or not. I am already at around 625 points on each of those cards in just 5 1/2 months. As a reminder, Gold status is now determined every six months rather than yearly. The cut off for this six month eligibility period will end 30 June, just 16 days from now.

I bought 2 variable load Home Depot cards and they did NOT add to my Wellness point balance, BUT I was successfully able to pay with a prepaid MasterCard without issue.

Some gc do count but hit or miss as to which ones do.
I recall buying a Panera gc last year and receiving tracking and Wellness pts for the purchase which I was only making to cash out BC.
You can use prepaids to buy any gc at RA except variable load and reloadable.

I think the only variable load card you cannot use a prepaid Mastercard or Visa to purchase is when you are buying a variable load Mastercard or Visa.

@mrvietnam Interesting. I saw on SD that someone said Lowe’s cards work, so I took a chance on the HD cards. I bought two of the $50 denomination, not variable load, and they counted for Wellness points.

I’m positive my variable load cards didn’t count. Maybe, for some reason, it is only the fixed amount cards that count. I wonder why it makes a difference pointwise. Good thing I already had 700 points going in, so getting the points didn’t matter in my case.
