Staples $10/$30 coupon for E- Recycling Nov. 12-18
-
Recycle your old tech for free and earn a $10 coupon.
From November 12 to November 18, gather up your old electronics and bring them to your nearest Staples® store and if you are a Rewards member, we’ll give you a coupon for $10 off your next purchase of $30 or more.
*Coupon will be printed on the receipt when items are recycled. Coupon terms apply. Not applicable on business exclusive pricing or custom pick pricing. Limit of one coupon per customer, not per item recycled. See our FAQs for more details on our recycling program.
NB: Coupons don’t work on items with rebates.
In the past have been able to work around the 1 per Rewards acct by not giving Rewards card.
In the past have been able to recycle one item at a time and earn more than one coupon.I have a hard time finding anything I want that doesn’t have a rebate or isn’t on sale. If folks find things, please post.

Fine print of offer.

Last time around the system required one to use their rewards number in order to use them, thus limiting one to one usage.

Not sure if this was last time, but last time I did this, I was able to use like 30 of them.

2 years ago I got a bunch of coupons (not applicable to anything on sale). Last year they required a Staples Rewards #. This year it looks the same and “Limit of one coupon per customer, not per item recycled.”
-
I was also able to get multiple coupons in the past by not using a rewards card. I’m not sure about last year though. The coupon worked fine for sale and clearance items.

@george2001 The first year they did this I got a bunch of coupons and used them. Last year I got one coupon and I don’t think I used it. I have a hard time finding stuff I want that doesn’t have a rebate or isn’t on sale.
I might end up getting more Kcups. I just updated the list in the Clearance/YMMV thread.
Lots of nice flavors now 50% off. With the coupon they’re $4 for 16-18 ct box.Hunting for my smallest USB drive. Must have a 500mb somewhere.

From someone who seldom shops at Staples: Can you buy $30, use the $10 coupon, then use $20 points to pay for the rest.
-
@somanycats yes. Just make sure you hand over the $10/$30 first. Then give them your Rewards check (I presume that’s what you mean by ‘points’).
If Rewards is more than your balance due you’ll receive a “balance” check back for the difference. That balance check has to be used all at once, unlike the original Reward which gives you overpayment back, kwim?

No, That was two times ago.

For those without old electronics to recycle, you can always buy a cheap calculator and recycle it.
I’m sure even cheaper ones are available at a “dollar store”.

@george2001 Most stores have a plastic “tower” into which folks dump batteries to be recycled. The first year I looked in the tower and found an old iPod. Pulled it out of the recycling tower and took it to the register.
This isn’t for the faint of heart
The tower is about 4" high so I ended up lying it on the ground and shaking it to get the iPod.
Last night I checked to see what they had. Only thing that wasn’t a battery looked like a sound card. I could have used it but decided to hunt for an old usb first.
