I was able to get pop up, but only after looking at the second page of vehicles. I also might have moved my mouse over something before it popped…

Thanks. Got it. Hyundai allows a test drive incentive once every six months.

I went to the dealership. Didn’t have to take the test drive and the $50 Amazon.com gift card was waiting for me in my e-mail when I got home. To take a line from Staples: Now that was easy.

I had to wait two minutes for the pop-up but it did come. I had 3 offers, Amazon, Target, or VISA g/c. Now comes the deluge of sales calls from the dealership.

I had to click on a bunch of junk, but once it popped it, it was there.
Note that the default choice is an Amazon GC, but you can pick the Visa gift card (which was the 3rd option for me).
Also note that the deadline is pretty quick - I think I have 10 days to get in and test drive to get the $50.

I got mine same day as my test drive last Saturday. I insisted on immediate processing. I drove a Sonata hybrid. Like all hybrids it has weak unresponsive acceleration. My 20 year old Camry V6 blows hybrids away.

Didn’t have to test drive, guess that keeps miles down on the vehicles they are trying to sell if you aren’t going to possibly buy. Got email only after checking my spam folder, but it was there same day as I went to test drive.

You have to be patient. The gift card only comes after they’ve entered it into their in-house redemption system. Some dealerships take their sweet time doing that step. I’d give it a few days then call and follow up.

Immediately converted to BestBuy virtual GC.
Purchased ExxonMobil GC @ BestBuy B/M
Free gas + Plenti points are always appreciated.

I actually bought a 2017 Elantra online from my cloaca dealer. This was in July of 2017. Went to pick up car and did all paperwork along with the 50.00 test drive certificate. Never recd the 50.00 Visa card. After calling and wasting valuable time I called the dealership owner. After 2 days got a check from the dealer. Persistance pays off. BTW, the car is great and it averages about 36MPG per the mileage calc built in. Goes along with mt 66 GTO that runs on premium and gets 19mpg. w/o ac.

Well, that’s the thing. The most virulent spam I have ever gotten, across phone/email/junkmail, continues to be from car dealers. And that is without ever letting anyone copy or scan my DL. I can’t even imagine how snowed under with onsolicited crap I would be if they had my DL. And if you don’t give it when they ask, I presume there’s no deal, making it a wasted trip. That’s why I ask.

No, they didn’t ask for my driver license. In fact the sales guy assumed I was just there for the $50 and didn’t make any move to give me a test drive. He marched the certificate right back to his sales manager and came back saying it was done and then started to walk away. I am interested in a new car so I had to call him back and tell him I wanted to drive one. I received an email from the sales department asking me to contact them but it had a ‘text/email STOP to unsubscribe’ link which I did and haven’t had any other contact from them.

I still haven’t received my $50, even though the gift card center says my request is there.
The dealership says they submitted it, but they screenshot something showing me that the dealership is either mistaken or lying.
So, I have to spend significant time to get the $50.
Ironically, this has made me concerned about Hyundai’s customer service to the point where I’ll never buy one. I doubt this was their intent when they put this offer into play.

Freehold NJ Hyundai screwed me. No gift card. They contacted me to come into the showroom after I had. I told them they owe me the gift card. That was the last I heard from them…

The BBB is a joke. Better to email the dealer’s manager that you intend to contact corporate if his staff doesn’t process their paperwork. I’ve done 4 of their test drives over the years, always drove a car, and have always gotten my gift.

@myisland I put a complaint in on the Freehold Hyundai Facebook page. Almost immediately I received a Facebook answer to call the customer relations mgr Sean. He put the application for the gift card.
Just received the $50 Visa email.
