So what’s the difference between the two? The savings account can change rates any time. The indexed account, just at the beginning of the month. Why is this a big deal, or is it?
-
The High Yield can change at any time just like any other Savings/MM account. The Indexed account rate resets at the beginning of each calendar month and is indexed to the One-Month Treasury Par Yield. Not overly familiar with the One-Month Treasury Par Yield so maybe others will weigh in on this aspect of it as to whether it’s a good thing or not. One positive may be that in a declining rate environment, some accounts may have numerous interest rate drops in a month time but with this account, it appears that it will only decrease once a month.
