@mrvietnam I rarely find good offers on checkout51. Shopmium was slightly better.

Took me years to get $20 to cash out at Checkout 51 and I have >$1k back on Ibotta. I will only do Checkout 51 if it was something I was going to buy already. I’m making less money on Checkout51 than inflation LOL

Wow, that’s rather shocking given they were ‘coupons.com’ before. I wonder if the printable IP’s on coupons.com will continue?

Checkout 51 has never had the variety of offerings Shopm/Coupons.com has had. So not overly optimistic how this benefits any of us. And at least w/shopmium you got paid on every coupon to your paypal, no cashout minimum required.

Shopmium, a popular cashback app, is closing down and will be merging with Checkout 51. This move is part of a broader consolidation in the cashback and coupon industry, where companies are adapting to shifts in digital shopping trends. While Shopmium was once a competitor to apps like Ibotta, it never gained significant market dominance. The merger is expected to streamline services, combining the strengths of both platforms to offer better receipt-verified rebates for users, aiming to provide a more seamless shopping experience.

What hogwash. the original coupons.com app was good, shopmium was not a good app IMO, wasn’t user friendly as far as navigation and unless you clipped offers prior, you couldn’t get credit for them.

“The merger is expected to streamline the # of offerings and rebates customers will actually get, so you’ll earn less money overall and now have to wait til you have $20 to cash out on C/O51, when Shopmium paid out each redeemed offer as they were approved”

That was my ‘bot’ post changing their wording, which was laughable IMO.

  • The site “coupons.com” was sold off to another buyer before the Quotient sale to Neptune. They are not related now. Checkout 51 and shopmium are both owned by Neptune and they are just streamlining after the sale. Too many people using both apps together, my guess. Shopmium was a dumb name and a horrible app. Guessed that it was going down a few months ago when the rebates all but disappeared.

That being said, checkout 51 is not the best name and the that app started well but slide downhill. Maybe now that the dust has settled, they will make a decent app with decent offers.

I have both apps, there was very little overlap on offers. C/O51 offers tended to mirror what I find on Swagbucks more than Shopmium. Yes a dumb name and crappy app. won’t miss it, except for the fact it paid out as your earned, no minimums to wait for.
