https://missingmoney.com/app/claim-search
This is a nationwide search engine which is great if you’ve lived in multiple states over the years. I was shocked to find my name having unclaimed funds being held in my state from “Unilever Rebate”. It took me to my state’s unclaimed funds website and I filled out an online form to claim the $$.

I have found thousands for friends on this site and state-specific ones.

I never find any money for myself. I’m really good at keep track of my money
I’ve used this site before but started searching my relatives and found my grandpa is owed money from the local newspaper. He passed away probably 10 years ago…
-
I found two dollars that Rite Aid corporation owes me, I better get it quick while they’re still in business though. I guess that’s not necessary as the money is now being held by the state of California…

Interesting, I wonder how $2 from Rite Aid made it to the state of CA. any idea what it was for? Been years since RA had a rebate program of any kind.

Really no clue about what it was payment for. Rebate would be about the only thing I can think of.

@mrvietnam you think its a SCR? 😃. I recently found a SCR booklet from back in the day. $2 could be a +Up.
-
@mrvietnam I also found $50 that NJ is holding for a dead relative from Walgreens. The only thing I can think of, is they may have issued this person a refund for a return with no receipt by check, and they never cashed the check.

weren’t +up’s printed on receipts vs a ‘rebate’ check. At one time, Rite Aid did have a rebate program that was really good called single check rebates. going back 20 years maybe. They had double dip periods where the old rebates were still valid when the new rebates kicked in. I remember this was one of the first deals I learned about on Fat Wallet years ago from Bill Rubin and others.
I also remember when the extra bucks program first started and stuff was outright free a/ecb’s with no limit. would score 6 bottles of shampoo for free with extra bux printed out for all 6. Oh those were the days!!

Yes indeed. It’s fun to walk down memory lane. Those were the days. It really paid to be an early adopter of their reward programs. Rite Aid will be missed. I would say 80% of my remaining stash in my garage is from Rite Aid and the other 20% is stuff I got very cheap at K-Mart before they closed years ago. With the prices of things very high now it really comes in handy just to be able to go to the garage and pull out what I need rather than going to the store. It’s like a mini Rite Aid in my garage. RIP Rite Aid (and K-Mart for that matter). You have been good to me.
I actually started my extreme couponing career at CVS decades ago, but then when I saw the deals were greener at Rite Aid I migrated over there and have been there ever since. I also added Kmart when the deals were good at Kmart for many years.
I remember years ago at CVS they had total purchase coupons that you could print at home and they stacked at the self check out register leading to massive discounts. At least in my experience, Walgreens has never been a very exciting story to get good deals at. I usually avoid Walgreens unless I have expiring rewards.
Actually, I would like to give kudos to MisterCheap because he was the first one to introduce me to the new Rite Aid rewards program and the benefits such as no limits and a lot of free product that they started after they ended the rebate program. It was fun going store to store getting tons of free products.

Thanks MrC! I read OP the day you posted it (6/24?). Found that I had a Pfizer rebate on the Unclaimed Site. Submitted to my State that same day. Received a check for $11.49 on 6/28/25.
I also found something for $200. I think its related to the Covid Vaccine Study that I had difficulty getting paid for. Because of the $ amount I have to submit ID and a copy of SS card.

It’s amazing how many rebates are popping up on this site. My theory is, incorrect or incomplete addresses used when sent out that got kicked back to them. (input errors, damaged mail, etc.) How they wind up with state treasury unclaimed fund accounts is a mystery to me. I can understand bank accounts, insurance refunds/claims, etc but rebate checks?
@my4mainecoons curious, was there any info about the original rebate included? The date first sent? $11.49 is a strange amount given most manu. rebates are for even numbers like $10.
-
@mistercheap No info, just that it was from Pfizer so I presume a rebate. As for the amount, it was probably a FAR offer.
I have a Single Check Rebate brochure. Don’t have pages 1&2 because they were submitted for the check so I don’t know when it’s from.
