Our first-ever Pay Your Age Day event generated an overwhelming response resulting in long lines, extensive waits, and disappointed Guests. We understand that many Guests were turned away due to safety concerns created by the crowds when authorities in certain locations closed Build-A-Bear stores or we were forced to limit the line. Given these circumstances we were unable to serve all of our Guests for the event.
In response, we distributed vouchers to Guests who were present in line to be redeemed for a future purchase and have now made vouchers available to all U.S. & Canadian Bonus Club members which must be screen shot or printed by logging into your account before midnight on 15 July. We encourage all of our valued Guests to visit our full statement at the following link and we’d like to reiterate our sincerest thanks for your passion and continued support.
Notes:
You do not have to be an existing Bonus Club Member. I just signed up and got the voucher.
$15 coupon valid July 13 through August 31, 2018 (print or save screenshot before July 15th though)

I’ve heard the cheapest you can buy one for is $24-ish.

Things that happened during my 13 hr shift today at Build a Bear:
–A literal fist fight in line
–two death threats
–a lady waited in line for 8 hours with her 1 week old and LEFT WITH NO BEAR because we had to charge her a dollar and not 1 cent.

I wonder about all the commotion. Even if the beers were free, it’s not like customers were saving huge amounts of money.
During the promotion, were there any enterprising parents with infants to lease them out to parents with older kids? A whole day of renting the same infant out to the next person in line could have paid for their college education.

Maybe I’m old fashioned, but I don’t understand how a store in a mall can survive only selling stuffed bears. How many does a kid need, how many would a parent want to buy and how much room does one have for bears?
Getting back to the offer, I don’t blame parents getting upset because Build a Bear didn’t have the capacity for this. If they can’t deliver cheap bears soon, maybe some rioting and overturning police cars will force them. If there are still no results it’s time for class action lawsuits and burning down some stores.
Note: Anyone who knows me knows I’m not serious.
