5 Free movies to own from Movies Anywhere
-
https://moviesanywhere.com/welcome
Register for Movies anywhere, then connect it to two of your digital movie accounts, either on iTunes, Google Play, Amazon, or Vudu. Once you do that they’ll add Ghostbusters (2016), Ice Age, Big Hero 6, The Lego Movie, and Jason Bourne to your account. Details about the promotion are listed here
-
I thought the purpose of VuDu was to provide one place to access all of your movies from different accounts…
Anyway, the promo is also on the VuDu homepage for Ghostbusters and Ice Age. Once I linked my VuDu account, both videos instantly showed up on Vudu Too.
I was already signed into my Amazon account so I didn’t have to enter my password to link with Movies Anywhere. After linking, not only were Big Hero 6, The Lego Movie, and Jason Bourne added to my Amazon account, a bunch (but not all) of my VuDu videos were added to my Amazon account, and some of my Amazon videos were added to my VuDu account. Weird.
Thanks OP, although I’ve binge watched Big Hero 6 and The Lego Movie so many times, I’m not sure if this is a good thing for me.
-
Seems cool. For example, this is a way to effectively watch movies from one’s Google Play library on a Amazon Fire TV since there is not a Google Play app for Fire TV.
-
Thanks OP. Got the 5 movies immediately even though it said it may take up to an hour.
I linked Amazon, Google and Vudu. For some reason, Amazon hasn’t worked while the others did. Go figure.
-
Amazon hasn’t worked for me either. “Consumer linking failed. Unable to retrieve Amazon MA user information”
-
I was able to link my vudu and amazon account but 5 movies i’ve got was pre-selected, Jason Bourne, Big hero 6, Lego Movie, Ice age, Ghostbusters, Monster inc… I pretty much already have these title. Not really worth it, my 2 cents

Yes, those are the movies listed in the OP and on the landing page for the offer linked in the OP.
-
Already had Big Hero 6 and Monsters as part of Disney’s Movies Anywhere, but got the other three by linking Vudu and Amazon.
-
I just got an email saying that Disney Movies Anywhere will be shutting down, and they are encouraging users to transfer to and sign up for Movies Anywhere.

I haven’t gotten that email yet, but they are HEAVILY promoting Movies Anywhere on their Disney Movies Anywhere site… which makes it weird that Disney is not one of the retailers listed on the account connection page on Movies Anywhere. I think you have initiate the connection within the Disney site: https://www.disneymoviesanywhere.com

Weird. I didn’t get Monsters Inc. and my kids love that movie. I was looking forward to it. Oh well.

Monster’s Inc. is not one of the five free movies listed in this deal. Do you have a Disney account? Many FWers got Monster’s Inc. for free by opening up an account with them (in case you forgot/signed up but never used it).
-
Looks like I get to make the dumb statements on this thread. Turns out I did have Monsters Inc. from the August 2016 promo. Just transferred it over; easy as pie. Thanks for the correct 5T.
-
Movies Anywhere has a separate link under your profile to migrate your Disney Movies Anywhere account: https://moviesanywhere.com/migration

Yeah, it took me a minute because it says “DMA Transfer” and my brain interpreted it as DMCA and passed it over.
This is actually a great idea. It’s nice having one-stop shopping for movies.

Amazon worked for me tonight. Thanks, OP!
-
Thanks OP! I don’t use Google Play but apparently having a google email counts.

true but it didn’t transfer all my google play movies over

It didn’t transfer all of my Vudu videos either but it did transfer my Disney and some of my Amazon titles to Vudu, so now Vudu is my most complete movie catalog.
-
This is all based on the movie studios allowing the transfers to work. Not all of the studios have signed up for this though…
So you’re probably seeing missing movies transferring because of that.
-
that may be the case, the one that didn’t was transformers and it is a Paramount/Dreamworks production
“Paramount and Lionsgate are the major holdouts”
-
Current participating brands/studios: 20th Century Fox, Sony, Universal, Disney, Warner Brothers

I just received an email from Moview Anywhere entitled “Last Chance! Get 5 Movies When You Link Accounts.” It says this offer is ending soon but doesn’t give a date, so now’s the time to act if you want this deal but haven’t done it yet.
