Yes, it works out great for me as my subscription always runs out at Black Friday. I don’t watch it much, but for 99 cents a month, heck, why not? The hardest part for me is since I have done these offers so many times is finding a credit card I have not used yet in previous years. I guess it doesn’t matter as returning customers can also get in on the deal.

I just signed up for my 99 cent Hulu for a year. This offer is valid for returning customers who have not had Hulu for the past 30 days. so I just recycled one of my old e-mails and credit cards I used before and it worked great. A buck a month is a good deal. The Black Friday offer last year was a dollar more, $1.99 a month. I have these Black Friday offers timed great. When one offer ends a new Black Friday offer begins, always ensures I have my cheap Hulu service. You have through this Monday to sign up for this deal if you are interested,

  • Last day for offer. Use Topcashback for a $2 bonus. I used a prepaid Visa card for payment, a great solution if one is running out of CC numbers.

I don’t know what’s on Hulu so I searched and it says that it has the major networks. So I could stream the Superbowl?

No. This is the basic $6.99 plan at a discounted price. There is no live TV, save for perhaps certain events. Major networks do post some shows there, for example, you can watch the current season of ABC’s The Goldbergs, but not live, but instead soon after the original airing on regular broadcast (which you could also do via ABC’s own app). To get live channels, you’d have to subscribe to the much more expensive Hulu + Live. This basic version of Hulu is similar to Netflix and Prime that (for the most part) only carry on-demand streaming/

  • @mrvietnam Ok, I bit on this over the holiday, just to watch “Only Murders in the Building” and “Brockmire”.
Wow, those ad breaks are relentless and painful! Even the audio seems to boost!

Fast forwarding through them (logically) is disabled, so I try to multitask using my remote’s mute button to do something else.
I discovered that if I overshoot, while muted, in the resumption of the show, I can rewind back to just before the start of the ads.
Then, resuming play, that block of ads that already played is skipped.
Is there any better workaround apart from paying $$ for the ad-free subscription?

@ukedog I hate hulu because of the ads and barely use it now, especially since I signed up for Paramount+ and Showtime.

  • @dangeruss Yeah, it’s the opposite of entertainment, for sure.
Some posts on groups say that for movies, it only plays the ads at the very beginning, and thereafter no interruptions.
Haven’t found any movies yet that I’d risk testing that out on, lol.
