It’s kind of the Wild Wild West of surveys.
I’ve had chatbots that looked legit not work at all and then their username disappears (you can look up the chatbots later in saved messages in Messenger.)
I’ve had very legitimate judicial opinion surveys that pay well. Alas, they are strict about the number of surveys you can do in a time frame.
I’ve had one (also a chatbot) that disappeared and that one gave up some information, even though that is the Faustian Bargain and standard procedure for a lot of these surveys, including major platforms.
I’ve also had legitimate chatbots pay within seconds.
Lately, I’m trying to stick to University-run surveys that require little effort. Those are easy to vet, all of the policies are laid out transparently, and there is usually contact info if I need help or the survey isn’t working correctly.
