Ragu pasta sauce at Target is close to break-even again with the X pattern on the Swago board. +100 SB for buying 2, +250 SB for the X pattern. $1.99 cost for each jar of Ragu.
If you’re a gambling man/woman, then it’s a $.75 money-maker if you buy one jar of Ragu. +25 SB for buying 1, +250 SB for the X pattern. However, I’ve never actually tried buying just the one because the Swago board requires a premium deal marked by a star - it should qualify if you buy one because it has a star, but the vast majority of premium deals are over $.50 (50 SB back) and given Swagbucks tendency to send Magic Receipts into receipt review and not getting a reply back because this Swago ends October 31; all this means it’s a slight gamble for buying one jar.
That said, breaking-even on groceries is becoming exceedingly tougher due to the coupon apps recent lack of deals, so these offers are quite competitive, comparatively.

You could also factor in any to-do list and daily goal bonuses.
What coupon apps are still out there? Right now I’m only using e-coupons offered by grocery stores that are linked to my store card/account.
The digital coupons are probably best, you already know it will work with the store you’re shopping at, especially if things go awry at the register and your coupon doesn’t credit.
ibotta: still has good referral bonuses. you have to scroll through a bunch of deals that aren’t really spectacular, with the occasional freebies or BOGO offers. traditional bonuses for redeeming more offers is unobtainable for me because I don’t really do that much branded shopping. Redeems as true cash back by paypal or gift cards.
fetch rewards: this is the simplest, you just take a picture of the receipt and are immediately credited points (2.5 cents every grocery/restaurant/paper receipt for anything in a store) and their offers are not bad for the brands that partner with fetch. Redeems as gift cards.
checkout51: this one seems to be dying out, SmartSource (the newspaper coupon Sunday circular) bought this app a while ago and has kept it afloat. There seems to be a lack of new offers, although they also have the best recurring offer of $2 off $10 fresh beef that no other coupon app offers. Redeems as paypal or a physical check.
Tada/Magic Receipts: strangely, some of their offers are very competitive, even though they don’t have a ton of brand partners. And the offers for stuff like Fruit of the Loom or Hanes are unique among coupon apps in that they’re high-dollar amounts and recurring every week (you can use once a week and it comes back, extremely rare in coupon apps.)
coupons.com: this is the simplest payout structure, you clip a coupon, take a pic of a receipt, get paypal instantly. the problem is that they rarely have great offers, and their offers on food are becoming even more rare. the other problem is they have restrictions on redeeming manufacturer coupons (paper coupons) or even store coupons (CVS Extrabucks or those instant register discounts at Costco) and every offer becomes a gamble as to whether you get paid or not.
receipt hog: takes forever to build up even a $5 cashout, but this app is quite good if you ever need to catalog your receipt purchases and need pictures of your receipts. redeems as amazon gift cards or paypal.
–
I don’t think anybody is getting rich off of coupon apps, but it helps defray the cost of branded groceries and sometimes generic store brand groceries. I buy generic store brand products a lot of the time just because of the hassle factor.
Meh, if ibotta doesn’t bring back the 9 free Thanksgiving offers at Walmart, then ibotta can go stick that turkey where the sun don’t shine.
Although that does remind me that I really should use up that free cornbread mix I got last year.

As usual, they assigned me to the last place team. We took 3rd place briefly but slipped back into 4th. A free 50 SB is better than nothing… at least that’s what I keep telling myself.
I keep having to remind myself not to cash out my SB before the team challenge ends so I can use the swag up discount.
Last night’s SB live game had the lowest number of winners I remember seeing in a very long time (just under 5K). Too bad the pot was only $1,000 because the winners only received about 20 SB + bonus SB.
Yea, I used to redeem every first of the month for my $25 discounted to $22 gift card, but I usually wait for the team challenge nowadays (unless there’s a special swagup like a birthday or something.) Old habits die hard, I was so used to waiting for the first of the month.

Weird Swago this week.
My prior Magic Receipts purchases for onions, bread, and apples were already marked as complete (I didn’t buy any of those this week so I’m sure they’re purchases from some time ago.)
I guess I can buy sliced cheese and a new premium deal for a total of 100 SB? Hope this isn’t the new format for Swago, that’s much less than the 250 SB for the completed X patterns…
Dang it, I already signed up for Alienware Arena for some contest a while back (the current contest is giving away 1 gaming PC per day.)
No $25 for me.
Looks like Fetch Rewards had an across the board point devaluation.
Most $5 gift cards (good ones like Amazon) are now 6,500 points. $10 Amazon is now 12,500 points. $25 Amazon is 28,000 points. It’s close to that for Apple, Target, etc.
There are a few that are below the previous redemption value like clothing stores and some restaurants.
Heads up: you can play the daily spin with a receipt from prior days.
250 points yesterday, only 10 points today.
@dionaea said in Fetch Rewards point devaluation.:
How are you doing that? I go to the spin and win, click on it, then have to scan a receipt, it rejects a receipt I’ve already submitted, and when I go out of it, the app does not take me to the spin and win so I can spin. What am I doing wrong?
You have to scan a new receipt, one that you haven’t scanned before. After your 24 hours has counted down (the top of the app has the countdown timer) you click on that.
As long as it is a new receipt that you haven’t scanned before, you can use a receipt from a prior day - I used a restaurant receipt dated yesterday that I didn’t scan yet.

I always keep my eye out for abandoned receipts in grocery store parking lots as I am entering or exiting the grocery store. Sometimes I am even able to score some rebates on Ibotta using found receipts, too.
Be careful with that - most people pay by credit card and use loyalty cards, enough unknown credit cards and loyalty cards might send a red flag. With these apps, there’s no warning: they ban you from the platform forever and take away prior earnings.

Mine disappeared early today. I added and activated the offers to my Chase Amazon and debit card when the deal came out, but both of them disappeared before I got a chance to use them.
Serves me right (wrong?) for waiting, I suppose.
Woah, both of mine disappeared as well! I saw on another site that said that that happens to them all the time with Chase offers, but as far as I know, that’s never happened to me before. It’s one thing if they say it’s limited to a certain number of uses, but I don’t see anything like that in the fine print. Guess I’ll start taking screenshots and I’ll have to check right before redeeming. Sucks.
Mine are back! Check the app/website.

The 12 SB Collector’s Bill is hot right now
https://www.swagbucks.com/?f=55&t=w&p=1&q=Fiesta+Party+Decorations.
Thanks. Haven’t gotten any in a couple days even though I was trying.
I get an error message when I try to claim them. This anniversary week was a big let down for me. Maybe I’ll win the big SB Live game tonight at 8:30.
Try a Google Chrome based browser where you’re already logged in (Edge or Chrome) because the claiming SB part is forcing a CAPTCHA (by Google) test before you can get your SB for searching. I use Edge as my shopping and Swagbucks browser.
Also, Edge is good for Bing Rewards / Microsoft Rewards. If you do the daily searches required on the Edge browser and the Bing app, you can earn about $10 in Amazon gift cards per month, which strangely pays more than some of the continuous survey panels I’m in.
@mtnagel said in Swagbucks Tips, Offers & Discussion Thread:
@ctujackbauer said in Swagbucks Tips, Offers & Discussion Thread:
If you do the daily searches required on the Edge browser and the Bing app, you can earn about $10 in Amazon gift cards per month
Can you explain more about what’s required to earn this?
Open up Microsoft Edge.
Go to Bing Rewards here: https://rewards.bing.com/
There are earning opportunities on the main page (you’ll see a plus sign in yellow with the number of points it gives per activity.)
Then you get the majority of your points just for searching with Bing on the desktop and the mobile app.
For the desktop, I usually go to Bing News here: https://www.bing.com/news
Then on the left side bar, you’ll see regular news topics like World, Science, Technology; each one you click/search is 5 points towards your daily limit of Bing search points.
You should add some interests in the lower part of the left side bar because you’ll need more daily searches. Go to the hamburger menu (three bar menu) in the upper right of the Bing News window, then click “My Bing” and then scroll slightly down to News, then click “Add Interest”. You can add anything of interest, I believe it just has to be slightly different for each interest to count as a search. For example, add Ford, General Motors, etc.
Each time you load the Bing News page, click on the interests on the left side bar and wait about 2 seconds before clicking on the next interest. You should see your point counter in the upper right (this has your Bing Rewards points) go up 5 points after each click.
170 points daily from PC/Desktop Edge searching. (so about 32 searches)
Then you can get 100 points daily from the Bing app search.
After downloading the app to your smartphone, open a tab and search for a movie and its cast of actors/actresses (this is just the fastest way, you can search for anything 20 times a day).
For example, search for “Beetlejuice cast” click on the first person “Alec Baldwin”. You want to make sure you are still within the Bing page for the movie. After clicking on Alec Baldwin, click the next actor to the right, then the next one, then the next one to repeat 18 times (different actors.)
You get point bonuses for each day you log in to search - a daily streak. Plus there are sometimes bonuses on the Rewards page for doing a four-day activity within a month (easy to do.)
It’s easiest for Windows users because Microsoft logs you into Edge. When you download the Bing app the first time, make sure you have all of your authentication ready because sometimes people set it up once and then forget about it, making it tough to log back in if you change smartphones or sometimes even logging into your PC with Microsoft Windows.

@mtnagel Bing 500 SB for doing something with Bing (your posting gave no details)
That was Krazy9Katz, and they were referring to 500 Bing points for downloading the app, not SB.
Don’t forget to sign up for Sparkling Ice Rewards before you purchase (it might work if you sign up for the rewards program afterwards.)
Get a receipt. This free purchase counts as 1 activity / punch card. You can do the other 4 free activities for this month too.
Redeem 5 activities/punch cards for a $5 Target e-gift card this month.
Thanks @briarycliffs this 5 cent purchase (CA CRV) got me a $5 Target e-gift card.
Check your emails from Swagbucks Exclusive Deals for an email titled “View your free Credit Score!”
It’s an offer for SoFi Credit Insights for 750 SB, expires March 11. It goes to pending for 7 days.
Nearest I can tell, SoFi Credit Insights is free with no fees. You have to sign up for SoFi Relay Credit Score, not SoFi Relay - where you’d have to link your banking and checking information (F that haha.)
If you’re a gambling man/woman, then it might qualify you for one of those large point/SB Discover Offers for a Swago - if they have a Swago next week, and if there’s actually any good squares on the Swago board for a Discover Offer.
@fivetalents
Wow, I don’t recall Target being in one of the 5% categories. Right after Walmart this quarter, too.

I waited in line for 2 hours yesterday at Blaze Pizza - no regrets.

I filled out the rebate form earlier this week and submitted it along with a copy of my receipt dated 3/16/23. Today I received an email saying they couldn’t process my rebate because my purchase didn’t occur within the promotional period. ??? Last I knew, March 16 was still between January 1 and April 1.
Get a human by going to their Chat function on the contact us (bottom of the page.) Log in to your account first. Also, take screenshots (T&C and rebate form) in case the offer webpage disappears.
It looks like the webpage for the rebate form has already disappeared. You need to save the webpage of the Terms & Conditions page immediately, I suggest printing the webpage to a PDF file (Microsoft Print to PDF, or Chrome.) and also take picture screenshots in case customer support chat doesn’t accept PDF files.
I had to use their chat once, worked just fine.

As a last resort, I’ll do the instantly crediting 2 SB offers on RevU or AdscendMedia to reach the goal if I’m really struggling. I like to save them for a rainy day. The 1 SB discover offers are first come, first served, so do those earlier in the day.

Yes, you need to watch the video for the free entry link each time. You get there by going to the game, clicking menu, then rules, then alternate entry. Watch the video, click the pull down menu and select transactions, and then pass the Google Captcha.
I didn’t link to the alternate method of entry because Safeway/Albertson’s each have a lot of grocery store brands, and each has a different website.
@mrvietnam said in Albertson's/Safeway Flavor Adventure instant win (smartphone app, possibly website too):
I guess lesson learned is that when Albertsons starts a new online game, it is important to play the first night it is released if you want to win any high value prizes.
Not quite true. The instant wins are based on random seeding times, so don’t slam 10 tabs and try to enter all at one time in a search for efficiency. Also play when others aren’t (west coast after 11 PM)
There were fewer people playing the first night, so the prizes went to the people playing.

Fans of class actions on phatwallet will be disheartened to find out that Kroll has been hit with a major data breach. Ironically, they lost their data from a T-Mobile SIM swap/hijack from a phishing email sent to one of Kroll’s employees.
Kroll is stating that only data from its bankruptcy division that is handling the major crypto companies (FTX, BlockFi) bankruptcy proceedings are currently affected.
But as we on phatwallet know, it’s only a matter of time before the phishing emails target their class action business, likely due to the fact that a lot of class actions are “take action, claim your money on paypal or zelle or wherever” emails.
Be on the lookout for possible spear-phishing emails impersonating Kroll.
