Not sure what you mean by O/L… I don’t think it’s a standard acronym. Do you mean Out-of-Luck or Online?
This is in store only… but there’s always kiosk.

@mrvietnam said in Staples - New Offer STARTS AGAIN May 2025 Recycle 6 ink carts at store get $15 in rewards make sure offer is activated:
It appears the Staples recycling offer has changed downwards starting 5/1/25. I recycled on my two accounts this afternoon and instead of giving 500 points each for 10 cartridges ($25 in savings), they now only give 500 points for 6 cartridges ($15 in savings). I recycled 10 cartridges and I only got 3,400 points (for a total of $17 in savings vs the $25 in savings I got last month). The other 4 cartridges they gave me only 100 points each. Recycling an alkaline battery once a month still nets you 500 points (or $5). Still a good deal as the 10 carts only cost me $2 from eBay, but not as good of a deal as it was.
That does seem to be the current offer.
Fun fact, you can still buy the plus membership, but it won’t activate. If you’re lucky, you can convince the CSR to send a ticket to activate it, but that boat may have sailed. I was able to activate 3/4 accounts.

@dangeruss I didn’t think that buying Plus would be as good as spending real money. You have to be a loyal customer to spend $1K. Then, if all the Plus account does is recycle they’re not going to “reward” that account.
The plus accounts I had when they converted to easy rewards remained at 20 carts, despite me spending a ton of money last year. The regular accounts remained at 10 even though I just bought plus.

@my4mainecoons Make/model? Via Ebay?
Not sure I agree on printer ink, because you don’t earn the rewards when you pay with rewards and staples tends to be high.
Have to give some thought to this on what the best options may be.
I bought ink for resale to keep Premier status. Figure $1000 for ink, get back 50% in Rewards. Resold ink. Used the Rewards to buy more ink or other stuff for resale. I think I broke even or maybe made a profit. Having maintained Premier consistently they gave me 400 points for 30 empties/month with the new program.
I’ve had premier/plus and those accounts where I let plus lapse didn’t get the higher limit. Now even with spending a ton of $ last year, still only 10 carts even after buying plus.

Now that Office Depot has run dry (pun intended) of case water sales, I have been using my $10 off $30 coupons that expire in a few days to buy case water over at Staples. Since Staples gives the points for practically free (just pay for the cost of the cartridges from eBay) I am not losing any money and making it more attractive by combining it with the soon-to-be expiring $10 off $30 coupons. The interesting thing is at one store they did not charge me CRV when paying with coupon/points and at the other store it charged me CRV on the case water but not on the individual jugs of water. Nice way to stock up on Arrowhead spring water.
Do kiosk order, order $60 worth, use $15 off $60, then $10 off $30, total $25 off $60. Can also get fancier water and PM, but the PM will dilute the $15 off $60.
Where do you get $15 off $60 coupons, I believe the $10 off $30 are for in-store purchases only. Does a kiosk count as an in-store order? I thought Staples stores didn’t have kiosks anymore. I don’t remember seeing them at my local stores. Staples allows to stack xx/xx coupons?
Kiosk counts as in store, which I learned the hard way when I didn’t get a bunch of points that had online only offer in easy rewards. Kiosks have been taken away but they can now place the order for you at the register (either on the actual register or a tablet/phone). The online coupons need to be put in as part of the order process and then you can add whatever items, do PM, and use the $10 off $30 at the register.

Thanks! I haven’t been using the $15/$60’s. Nice to know how to stack them!
I get my annual Maine Coon calendar from Staples kiosk. PM to cheapest online
($22 vs $14) and toss in an in-store filler (Ziploc bags, Kleenex 3-packs) so I can use a $10/$30. Resell the fillers. There are currently 2 active $15 off $60 which are stackable and in theory $10 off $30 on top of it (and any in store promos that are going on, for example if they have $10 on every $50 spend, you can buy $140 worth, use 2 $15 off $60, then $10 off $30 and pay $100 and get $20 back. (The $10 on $50 was limit $200 in spend and one time use, so you might want to get something for $240 to max it out, but you obviously get a smaller discount. You can also PM, but the PM reduces the online coupon value (but the in store one is still good). Also those 15% off in store from way back when are still valid until 12/31, but personally I don’t love how they get applied. You can do a battery deal, $75 worth of batteries, $15 off $60, $10 off $30 and $50 back in points. Doesn’t have to be duracell either, but the specialty batteries might involve a CSR reach out, but so far they’ve given me the points.

Yes. Although are you sure it’s on the product list? If you bought it Friday, most of those on the product list are past the sell-by date.
So the recalls are mostly useless. By the time they do the recall you’ve either already eaten some of the product or the stores have thrown it out.

@dangeruss Excellent. Its taller than my Shop Vac but has ~ same footprint. I don’t use a lot of water so need less than a bag of salt ($8) a year. Last year my mixing valve was starting to stick again. Checked the water softener and sure enough, it was low on salt. Added salt and the valve un-stuck. I add a 40# bag of salt at a time. Recently got salt free on FB Marketplace and both “sellers” had an open bag with a scoop used so they must add a scoop at a time.
I have no way of knowing how much the softener has extended the life of my appliances but it’s eliminated plumber visits. It’s supposed to have annual servicing but I haven’t done that.
Did you do the plumbing yourself, or have someone do it? What unit is it and how much did everything cost?

@mtnagel Have you tried running the machine (empty) with vinegar instead of detergent? Doing that regularly might help.
My neighbor cleans his washing machine by doing an empty load with bleach and something else… Maybe a load with vinegar? I’d never heard of cleaning a washing machine before.
I had to replace the mixing valve in my shower several times because of hard water. I’d remove the valve, soak it in vinegar and replace it. Moen even sent me another one so I had a demineralized one on hand. But it’s a tight connection and after I had to call the plumber (again) to do the exchange I got a water softener.
How’s the water softener? My wife askedf or one years ago, but I’m not sure we have the space for it, or how hard it is to maintain.

@mtnagel I use these once in a while and also sometimes use the powder I bought. Not sure they do much, but I think you’re supposed to use them every so often. I know the ones for the washing machine likely make a difference as we didn’t use it on our old one and the whole spider arm got destroyed.
