Personally, I think it would be more important to focus on continuing popular threads from FW that are still active here.

Also, I’m not sure about mimicking another active site verbatim vs. focus on building membership and our own identity. Since a number of posters “borrow” coughplagiarizecough deals from other sites word for word, I’m not even sure that a bot is needed. Besides, it seems like one thing to overlook it if a member does it occasionally but quite another if it is our site policy to just copy large chunks of other sites onto our forums. I think it would harm our reputation.

I’m not sure that you meant to post this thread on the home page, but it was under the list of all of the forum titles.

I moved it to the Deal Discussion forum. When you are in the text editor, you can see/change which forum you are posting to at the top of the thread.

Just be aware that because of the similarity in the name you may eventually get a C&D letter. IANAL but it does seem like the stupid sort of thing that eBates would do.

We totally discussed just that but decided that a) it will help FW refugees find us/join for now and b) we need to priortize getting this site usable ASAP since the plug can be pulled on FW at any given moment with no warning (they’re many things that need to be tweeked/customized behind the scenes). Our venerable founder dangeruss is certainly open to suggestions for new site names as long as the domain name is available or can be purchased for a reasonable price.
