Does anyone know how charitable donations post on AMEX? I am wondering if they will be classified a purchase or something else.

Please post if you receive an instant notification that the $5 bonus has applied just like the small business promotion they did back in August on select AMEX accounts. Sometimes I go to tea shops or bakeries and have a hard time trying to figure out if these qualify as restaurant purchases.
My transaction posted immediately.

Hey, for you experts of this amex preferred card, i have a question for you. Does this card treat purchases at super Walmart as grocery/supermarket or not? I’m new to this card. Thanks in advance.!
It does not.

RE: 12/30 only Weds Stacking of offers! DOSH/SWAG/Google Pay Offer: $25/50/30 back on Walmart+ Annual Subscription = net $7mm
@mrvietnam said in 12/23 only Weds Stacking of offers! DOSH/SWAG/Google Pay Offer: $25/50/30 back on Walmart+ Annual Subscription = net $7mm:
Here is a comment I saw on DoC:
PSA: If you do the “sign up for trial then cancel, then sign up through SB” method, be sure to not buy anything from walmart before the SB show up in your account as pending, since I bought some $5.94 shampoo 10 hours after I sign up and now my Walmart+ sb tracking is showing $5.94 for the purchase amount and 0 SB earned.
Thanks for all the info., this worked for me. I was a little worried since there are people on Reddit detailing how the offer wasn’t crediting and they were having trouble with SB support. I think it is dumb you do not get a detailed Walmart receipt for the sign up, only a confirmation email. Regardless, the offer took 24 hrs. to show as pending for me on SB. The DOSH was immediate and about 2 hrs after sign up for Gpay.

Great deal, MC.
Tomorrow only (12/23) DOSH will pay $25.
If you sign up for the trial, you can cancel it right away and then sign up again for Walmart+ and it will charge your credit card right away. I am afraid if you wait to be billed until your free trial is over the offers may change on you.
This will actually be a $7 MM if all three offers get credited as they should. Also, make sure to check your credit card offers on your credit cards as you may have a Walmart+ offer.
But if you cancel, and then sign up again, won’t that mess up the Swagbucks cash back? I would think you would have to go back through the SB link a second time. Plus, DOSH says you must click the 'Shop" button to receive the $25 cash back. I have never used DOSH before, but it seems like cash back for this membership will track through that link.

RE: [No Longer Available] Google Pay: Spend $50+ At Target & Get $21 Back - expires 12/31/20 (Seems this deal died early for new activations. If you’ve already activated the deal, it’s still available.)
How long does it take for the transaction to post in GP? I purchased online at Target and I see no transaction anywhere in GP.

So, an off topic question. Gold Status ends on December 31, correct? As of then you have to earn Gold again starting January 1. In other words, no % discount starting January 1 until you spend to earn Silver or Gold status.

cooking question for anyone who may know.
What is the difference between Extra Virgin and just pure Olive Oil? Why is one ‘better’ than the other or is there not much of a difference?
Generally Extra Virgin is just supposed to be the pressed oil, no processing done to it except filtering to remove larger solids. Pure olive oil can be processed, think heated distillation, to remove impurities.
so why would one want to use one over the other? is there a difference in taste? cooking quality using it? etc?
EVOO has a stronger olive taste, best for dressings, sauces and where you want the heavier flavor. Pure olive oil will work the same, but with a milder taste and typically is better for sauteing and pan frying. But it really doesn’t make much difference in low heat cooking. Neither are ideal for high heat, you wouldn’t want to make a batch of fries with either. There are more intact healthier fats in EVOO, so using it is preferred from a health standpoint.
