In a real way, Sears’ demise is kind of sad. They had a 125 fabled history. They went from being the pioneers and King of mail order and modern retailing to bankruptcy and liquidation in 2018 and 3019.

If you are interested in watching the histories of Sears and/or K-Mart, there are a lot of interesting videos on You Tube.Many people may think it was Sears who acquired Kmart, but in actuality it was Kmart that acquired Sears (in 2004). Before 1990 Sears and Kmart were the two largest retailers in the United States and the fact they were even allowed to merge without government intervention in 2004 speaks to their decline in those 14 years.

I have one last online order to pick up in store today. I placed it yesterday and got an email yesterday that it was ready to pick up. Hopefully with the bankruptcy it will still be available to pick up (I used a $15 off $15 coupon on it, just in time I might add). According to yesterday’s CNBC story they already have a liquidator chosen, so I could only imagine that liquidation sales could start as early as tomorrow (Wednesday) morning.

With this kind of financial support, I’m surprised they were struggling.

@ctcarl It was shorter than expected, but no issue. I only wish a tank of gas would last me 3 weeks…and that’s with driving a hybrid.

Some may prefer the $1 FRN code for a rebate option…total value $20 assuming you have a participating Shell station nearby and a 20 gallon gas tank or gas storage cans.

not 100% sure, but even though it says limit i discount per household, you can probably get additional discounts as long as the transactions are done separately.

In case you didn’t know, when Office Depot has 100% back in rewards offers you can pay with Office Depot gift cards and still get your 100% rewards back. Also, if you live in CA, I suggest getting 10 $10 gift cards (if the cashier balks, tell him they are presents for an office Christmas party) as you can cash out when the gift card is $9.99 or less. I have done it several times.

As for what to spend them on:

Postage stamps

Breakroom items (they will price match staples and other stores if you find a good deal and want to burn rewards on that item).

Earlier in the year they were running deals on free after rebate case paper. could spend the rewards get the paper, then submit for a $40 OD Gift Card.

Stamps would be a particularly good choice before the 1/27/19 rate increase. First class going up $0.05 to $0.55 for the first ounce.

I would have been way better off buying one.

Never had tried Jet’s before until this deal. REALLY good pizza, will definitely buy from there again.

The thread title is a bit misleading. The opinion does not allow states to tax ALL online sales. It applies to sellers that sell more than $100,000 or have over 200 separate transactions in a given state. It will not, therefore apply to most Ebay or Amazon Marketplace sellers. Overstock, Newegg and similar entities are the ones who will be affected by this ruling.

While I originally thought the same thing, now I believe the coupon issues are a function of Staple’s buggy website, especially with Firefox. Try using either the app or go to m.staples.com (the “m” is NOT a typo.)

It’s just a regular $2 gift card that you can redeem to your account and gift card balance.

Code “LOT18” worked online without issue. Selected “pay at restaurant,” arrived, purchased $30 gift card with AmEx offer and paid with that. Great deal.

Curious, what did you get/recommend there? Pizza any good? most of the better entrees are up in the $20 range so, 2 entrees and a salad or appy gets you pretty close to or at $50.

I’ve never eaten there before. I picked up the lasagna, shrimp scampi and chicken parmesean (put me just over the $50 threshold for the coupon.) Great deal for a net of slightly under $20 plus tip. I’ve only eaten the chicken parm, but I definitely recommend it. VERY large portion of chicken, well prepared and quite good. Surprisingly, I would rank it over Carrabba’s. Sorry I couldn’t provide more of an assist for menu choices.

Edit: In the interest of science, I decided to heat up the lasagna. I’m not sure I would order this again. Portion size OK, it’s pretty tall so there was actually more there than it initially appeared. It was quite hearty in terms of meat…beef and sausage. Flavor was just OK and somewhat reminiscent of some frozen lasagnas I’ve had in the past. A bit of a disappointment when compared to the chicken parm.

Edit 2: The shrimp scampi was a winner, too. 8 nice sized shrimp and flavorful sauce.
