I’d be glad to fill them if you tell me what EFF stands for and my apologies for not understanding how to fill the ACH orig/des cell is. I know what ACH push and pull is but how does the orig/des relate to opening an account? I’ll just PM you what to enter on each cell and you decide if it’s appropriate or not. If not, feel free to remove the post to avoid confusing others.

PSA: TODAY is the last day to register for the THREE Discover savings accounts for an easy $150 OR $200 per account.
-
RE: Best Nationally Available High APY Liquid Accounts
@honkinggoose I suggest you go to doctorofcredit website where they have the links to all three. The code I used for AAA was AAABONUS (all caps), you may be asked for your AAA membership but just leave it blank. For the AAII, they also ask for membership number which I also left blank. Code for AAII is AAIIBONUS. Even if you see the bonus code populate REMEMBER to press APPLY to make sure it gets applied to your registration. I filled in all required info for our applications to avoid missing anything. At the end, of each application the new D savings account was there. I immediately linked this to my bank hub so I can transfer money to the new account asap.
HTH.

RE: Verizon Smart Rewards
They started with a new reward system as of 11/1. I checked MyVerizon app and clicked UpRewards and saw I have 1 credit I can spend on any offer. My choices were $5 Amzn GC, $5 Barnes n Noble GC, 2 GB data and NFL packet thingey. DH wanted the free 2GB since he uses a lot of data.
The smart rewards has been shelved and replaced by UpRewards. Check the offers you got.

RE: Verizon Smart Rewards
I used all of mine for the sweepstakes offer to win $2500 since I’m going to lose all those points anyway. I forgot the limit allowed per day so I went for the max and took me 3 days to use them all with just 20 points left on account now. I guess many went to that route also, at least I have a chance of winning rather than not having any chance at all.

RE: Discover AAA Savings account $150/$200 Bonus with $15,000/$20,000 Deposit at Discover Card
I’ve successfully opened AAII for another $200 bonus for both of us. Will complete the full $20K on each account way before 11/15 and X our fingers another $400 posts. Those who plan to open this AAII bonus have until tomorrow, Oct 31 to open it and fully fund it by 11/15 to qualify for the $150 or $200 bonus, according to amount of your deposits.

RE: Amex Offers - one per account now?
$25 off $250 on Best Buy AXP sync offer is back on most personal cards. I didn’t get them in my business cards.
I get the credits from buying 5 $200 VGCs (not all BBYs carry VGCs now) and pay with 4 AXP cards. Some stores enforce limits on how many you can buy that’s why I buy them in batches of $1000 per transaction. I’ve also gotten Elite Plus status just buying VGCs and I bank my points until I have at least $100 worth in certificates.

RE: Manufactured spending
I ordered VGC at GCM used code Sweet17 and it took off $3 from purchase fee for each GC. Use your CC and portal of choice for add’l rewards. code expires 10/26
-
RE: Manufactured spending
Check your AXP personal cards for $25/$250 on Best Buy and you receive $25 as statement credit or MR 2500 pts. I prefer the $25 statement credit to account. Although offer expires 12/31, if you see them under your offers and you don’t save them on each account, they may be removed on the list once the quota is filled so make sure to save them to your accounts ASAP. This offer gets filled quickly and it’s not available on twitter if you didn’t get them in your account.

RE: Manufactured spending
I dread to be the bearer of bad news for most MSers who drain their VGCs at the post office. There is a circulating memo to varied POs you can read from milesperday website. For now, people are saying it’s YMMV depending on clerks if they’ll enforce this memo but to avoid scrutiny, it may be best to avoid subtracting the fee (I think it’s $1.20?) from $500 VGCs and come up with varied amounts like $491.72 AND SWIPE ONLY ONE card (although this’ll come up more fees) instead of the usual practice of two to four cards which will definitely arouse suspicion that you’re using VGCs.
If the PO is the only way to drain your VGCs, it is best to find other ways now before the PO hardcodes no acceptance of prepaid debit cards to their system. Reports say they are currently upgrading their system. As long as it is up to the clerk who will not ask to see your debit card, you’re fine but best to avoid suspicion by sticking to just one swipe.

RE: Question abt Secured Credit Card
@fivetalents afaik, NONE of the prepaid V/MC reloadable/non reloadable cards are useful to build one’s credit. Applying for a secured CC will build one’s credit.
I remember a banker told me years ago that taking out a small loan from the bank and then paying it as agreed is also a good way to build one’s credit. I wouldn’t do it myself because I’m sure bank will charge interest on that loan depending on the terms but for those who are desperate to build credit, that’s an option.

RE: Amex Offers - one per account now?
@mrvietnam you can try creating an account for each of the AU. It’s what I did from the get go and that’s how I got the offers on each account and saved them accordingly. Try that and see if offers come up for each AU cards.

RE: Manufactured spending
For those who have the $20/$50 google express AXP sync offer, you can stack these codes for add’l discounts:
SHOPMORE20 x 11/15
FIRSTORDER20 x 11/21
ORDERNOW20 x 11/21If by chance, you know you saved the offer before your purchase and cannot find the offer in your CC account, relax… and in a few days you’ll likely see your $20 credits. Enjoy!

RE: Walmart2Walmart Express Pay Offers- Ongoing Thread
I found another use for the WM app to pay a bill. I input the payee to see if it’s on their list and then I input the amount I want to pay. I am given up to 24 hrs to pay at the WM branch I chose and when I go to the store, I go to Express Money lane and just scan the QR code after I tell cashier I’m paying a bill via CFP. After scanning the QR code, I see the message that I’m connected and the next screen shows me the amount I’m paying plus the fee. I paid $1999 plus $1 fee for 3 day delivery. I just saw the payment posted to my payee’s account! For MSers, you can swipe up to 4 VGCs as usual but as always, YMMV depending on cashier you’re dealing with. After doing this payment, you can buy up to $2K MO and swipe another 4 VGCs : )

RE: Discover AAA Savings account $150/$200 Bonus with $15,000/$20,000 Deposit at Discover Card
We decided not to use CCs to put funds on the BBVA after reading a lot of problems posted by others. Since there’s no maintenance fee, I’d be glad to just get the bonus in January. Fingers crossed.

Stack discounts at Puritan's with $10 off $40 + free shipping code and AXP sync x11-18
For those who buy vitamins and supplements online, you can stack the AXP sync offer ~ $10 credits wyb $30 or more with this discount code you enter at checkout on Puritan’s website: 171574T. I have the sync offer on several cards so I set up order(s) with final total of at least $30 and I got the AXP email that triggered the $10. This code CANNOT be stacked when using a portal but I chose it over portal offers since $10 CB is much higher than what portals offer.

RE: Discover AAA Savings account $150/$200 Bonus with $15,000/$20,000 Deposit at Discover Card
@ritholtz I don’t think so. These offers from Discover Bank are non churnable, IINM. Hopefully, data points come up saying others can now apply for regular, AAA and AAII after a certain time and get new bonuses.

PSA to MSers who order from GCM. TODAY is the last day to get $3 CB bonus from TopCashBack for over $10 purchase in one transaction. Make sure to activate offer first before you go to GCM website so it’ll get tracked. It’ll post as add’l CB to your account when your GCM purchase tracks.

RE: Manufactured spending

RE: Manufactured spending
Reminder to those who have honey accounts and are doing the Chase Pay promo at walmartdotcom. I clicked the honey pop up that says you’ll earn 500 = $5 for this purchase while I was at checkout buying $200 vanilla. Since no other portals gave CB for buying physical/eGC at walmartdotcom, I have nothing to lose since I got savings the last time using CP. The last time I got the pop up bonus was buying VGC from giftcardsdotcom, I earned 5000 = $50.
-
RE: Dollar General - Save $5 on 2 Gift Cards (Burger King, Chili's, Domino's, Logan's, Taco Bell)
Today is the last day for this GC promo, don’t forget the savings!
take note that there are Taco Bell stores that give add’l 10% for those with AARP cards so try asking and you may be pleasantly surprised. Many have gotten their AARP membership free from Walgreens deals. So stack the deals with these discounted GCs : )

RE: HOT! ACTIVATE REQUIRED: Extra $5 Cashback on top of normal CB any $25+ order at TOP CASHBACK Six Hours Only Today

RE: What do you have to bring along during your trip?
I’m paranoid too, I bring currency of the place we’re going just in case our Schwab cards fail. I also do what mikki does of scanning important travel docs and emailing it to myself/DH for easy retrieval in case of theft/loss. DH (jack of all trades) made a contraption since he’s paranoid about hotel safes so he made something that won’t affect/destroy the safe but make sure it won’t be easy to open by anyone. I’m telling him to go to shark tank to show his invention and who knows, he can get one of the sharks as business partner. LOL (j/k, he’s not interested to make a biz out of it).

Featured GC rewards for PayPal Extras MC credit card month of March
For March, under GC featured rewards, ebay GCs starting from $25 up to $100 are shown with the pts required for each ebay GC. It is currently 1:1 so 2500 pts can be redeemed for $25 ebay GC. This is mailed to cardholder as physical card which one can re-sell if they wish.
Hilton business GCs are also featured but not as good as ebay GCs. For a $25 Hilton business GC, one need 2805 pts instead of the regular 3300 pts.
I put WM GCs on my wishlist to make it easy to redeem them when they’re part of featured GCs on sale for the month. -
RE: Featured GC rewards for PayPal Extras MC credit card month of March
@fivetalents said in Featured GC rewards for PayPal Extras MC credit card month of March:
@Ma-Barker I didn’t think you had this card since you didn’t chime in on this thread: https://phatwalletforums.com/topic/5673/paypal-cashback-mastercard-questions. Are they different products? When did you get yours and what do you think of it so far?
If you scroll down on that thread, you’ll see my reply, third from the bottom.
Yes, I think the 2% PP Mastercard is different from the PayPal Extras MC which I have. I got this card late 2014, IIRC. Synchrony changed their T&C last year so I took it out of the sock drawer. Then when I saw WM GCs under their featured rewards in a month, I redeemed those instead of CB since WM GCs are more valuable to me when I get 10000 pts for $100 GC compared to 12000 pts = $100. This means I get to keep 2000 pts for the next redemption. I know many detest dealing with PayPal but so far, I have managed to toe their line with no difficulty.
I also like the fact that points I earned on the current statement is redeemable immediately unlike cashback from AXP blue cash which is delayed for one statement.

Starting tomorrow, May 6 thru May 12, $200 Visa GCs will be fee free (regular fee is $6.95) so this is a great offer to use Chase INK+, Chase Ink Cash or Amex Simply cash CCs to earn 5% UR/CB. 2% and 3% CCs for CB are also good to use for this offer. This is available in-store ONLY.

RE: Buy American Express Gift Cards Online with No Purchase or Shipping Fees (perhaps use as a graduation or Father's Day gift, etc.) - Should count towards Visa/MC spend thresholds
To those who plan to convert these back to cash, i.e, what mfr spenders do, the only way to do it is to use these to buy Visa (or Mastercard) GCs where you have to pay a purchase fee up to $5.95 depending on where you buy them. Thereafter, you can use the VisaGCs to buy a MoneyOrder and/or if you have a reloadable prepaid card like Serve/Bluebird, you can just load it at WM. You can also buy MoneyOrders at grocery stores, just ask if they accept Debit cards as payment.
I’ve converted my TopCashBack AGC rebate GCs to cash via GreenDot Visa GCs I buy at WM. Since I get 3% bonus for choosing AGC on payout, I still come out several $ ahead compared to ACH transfer to bank.

RE: Extra $5 Off Any Mobile Shopping Purchase Through ibotta App, Potential MM, Exp 05-13-2018
This is a great offer, I also take advantage of the weekly bonus offers. I bought a very cheap item at walmartdotcom, did in-store pick up, got my CB and $5 bonus from Ibotta : )
btw, I’m also loving the 25 cents credit on ANY grocery receipt which is under my new offers every other day. Free money just for taking a pic of receipts.

PSA: Those who do business with The Plastic Merchant, beware of current issues
Mods, I wasn’t sure where to put this topic but since I didn’t see it mentioned here, I thought it best to make GC resellers doing business with The Plastic Merchant that a lot of checks they sent have bounced. Sellers did not get a response when they let Mike, the CEO of TPM know about it. Apparently, his “staff” has sent out email recently that Mike is in the hospital. A lot of sellers are skeptical due to many who have reported bounced checks, some are in high four figures to low five figures.
If you’re affected, check Miles to Memories blog where there is a discussion of this issue and how sellers are coping with it.

RE: Oxi Clean Laundry Detergent 40 oz. or 18 pk. $0.99 A/C for Rewards Members in-store @ Walgreens
I used two $2/1 IPs and one $2/1 digital Q from WAG which came up to like buy 1, get 2 free. Cashier said there is limit of 4 per customer. I’m not sure if if IPs are still available at coupons.com but check your Balance Rewards account for the $2/1 digital coupon which will be taken off before total comes up as long as you save it to your account.

RE: Chase Savings $300 Bonus – Requires $25,000 deposit For 90 days and savings account to remain open for six months (can withdraw down to $300 after 90 days) - online or in-branch - Offer expires 1/17/19
Opened checking and savings July 3, ACH using local CU to checking which posted as DDA on July 9, got pending bonus $300 today, July 17. Same is true for DH’s checking account. We’re just waiting for our $225 bonuses for our savings account where $15000 was placed as initial deposit on each account. I’m glad this is a lot easier and stress-free than getting the bonus from shitty bank.

RE: Chase Savings $300 Bonus – Requires $25,000 deposit For 90 days and savings account to remain open for six months (can withdraw down to $300 after 90 days) - online or in-branch - Offer expires 1/17/19
We have no branches anywhere near us so when we decided to go to NOLA where there’s several branches near our hotel, I brought our checkbook and DH and I opened for each of us ~ savings with $225 bonus and $300 bonus for checking. Just before we left, I requested for the bonus codes to be emailed to us. I wrote them down on paper to make it easy for banker to verify; he didn’t even ask to see it on our phones. Too bad, we just missed the business checking bonus that expired on 6/30. Earning $1,050 on $30,050 capital parked for 90 days ain’t so bad. Will make sure to find ways to do this again next year.

RE: What Credit Card Should I Get ? FAQ
AXP blue cash ~ this may still be available for registration although it is no longer advertised compared to the Blue cash everyday and Blue cash preferred.
PSA to those who MS at drugstores with their AXP old blue cash, most drugstores have removed the variable vanillas with $4.95 fees and replaced them with new ones that have $5.95 fees. If your drugstore still carry the ones with $4.95 fees, you might as well buy them to reach the MSR so you can start earning 5% on gas, groceries and drugstores up to $50K.
The $1 increase in fees may seem insignificant but if that’s your main hub for MS to reach the $50K cap per reward year, that is quite a significant decrease in profit.

RE: Coke Rewards Official thread
@dennisinvenice I’m with you and since the codes in boxes sold at most stores are still the same from years ago, I don’t see how they can tell if they’re codes AFTER the program change. But main question for us ~ what are these flaps worth now?

RE: Tips and tricks from an eBay seller (edit: will update original post till we get a wiki)
@christmas you’re very welcome. I have read a lot of scammer tactics that’s why I prefer selling on craigslist and accept cash only. Scammers usually prey on newbie sellers thinking they can easily buy tons of items from them with prior intent to scam the seller by either saying they did not receive item or item was not as described. as previously mentioned ebay tends to side with buyers most often. I have made a lot of purchases and have only returned two because they were improperly packaged. The gold jewelry I bought that was broke when delivered, I was able to sell it at a coin show to one of the dealers participating so I can get rid of it. THEREFORE, if you’re determined to sell on ebay, make sure you protect yourself since you’re selling high ticket items you cannot just afford to take a loss.
-
RE: Tips and tricks from an eBay seller (edit: will update original post till we get a wiki)
@my4mainecoons yes, place like those and I don’t want to mention them to give them free advertisement because from what I’ve read a lot of them have not paid for the GCs they accepted from sellers. There was one popular among MSers (will tell you if you PM me) that was good at the start and then started NOT paying a lot of the sellers.
If you sell on ebay, just make sure to take pics F&B; others scratch of the back portion if there’s a scratch off portion and take a screenshot of the current balance on card at the time it was mailed to buyer after they check it online. That way, buyer can’t say it’s zero balance when they received it. Therefore, it’s best to cover your bases.

RE: Tips and tricks from an eBay seller (edit: will update original post till we get a wiki)
@louis-redfoot I think this is terrible advice to buy something with intent to return even for store credit.
For those who will try this tactic at stores like Walgreens, know that when a return is made, they’ll give you a merchandise credit card (store credit), which has a lot of restrictions to use. BEWARE of those who sell Walgreens GCs online because this is the type they’re selling and you’re going to be frustrated later when you try to use it and it has so many restrictions to use it. Compared to the regular rack Walgreens GCs which does not have a lot of restrictions on what to buy, the merchandise credit is a real PITA that’s why people get rid of it and sell them online to gullible buyers.
-
RE: Tips and tricks from an eBay seller (edit: will update original post till we get a wiki)
@louis-redfoot even if it’s not done for a living, it’s not a good idea to do it because it can possibly cause a gullible person to get in trouble and get banned from a store. Like I said to those who plan to do it at Walgreens…DON’T! unless you want a problem.

RE: How to buy used/pre-owned car, PWF/FWF style
I’ve noticed that even those certified used cars sold by dealerships have ripped seat upholsteries, dings on doors and other cosmetic defects and worse, they’re marked up just a few hundreds less than the brand new ones on the lot. I’d be surprised if anyone would still buy them to save a few hundred bucks instead of the brand new one with full warranty and possibly get it at close to the price of certified used, depending on one’s negotiating skills.

RE: Best Prepaid Card?
@zapjb good for you! I have a grocery store that does huge meat markdowns that take only V/MC so hopefully they start taking AXPs although I use CCs only for regular spend. I don’t use DCs for regular spend, all my prepaid reloadables are strictly for MS purposes.
