@mrvietnam we each have multiple free email addresses/bank account/phone numbers… for different purposes. Tight Ship R Us.
I have multiple free email addresses too, but the problem is I already sent the picture of the receipt using the email address that was locked so I think it ties the receipt to that email address.
But I already solved the problem. I just returned one of the six count waters back to Walmart, so that way I don’t have to worry about it. Life is too short to be a worry wart.

RE: Free after Rebate: Splash Refresher 6 pack exp 12/31/2024
I forgot that my wife’s email address was locked by Microsoft and we can’t get back in there, but on the form for the rebate I put my wife’s email address and they have two factor authorization so I’m not sure what to do since I can’t get into her email address to find out the code number they sent. When they approve the rebate, do they directly put the money into your PayPal account or do you have to get an email and go somewhere and choose PayPal? Probably the best thing for me is to return one of the waters to Walmart. It looks like I won’t be able to get the rebate.

RE: Free after Rebate: Splash Refresher 6 pack exp 12/31/2024
The rebate terms and conditions says one per person and per household so for you doing one for your wife did you enter a different address? I registered and gave my email address and they said they were going to send me a verification code to my email address, but I never got it And they have a timer for three minutes you have to enter the verification code sent to your email. I I resent it, but I still didn’t get the code so I’m gonna check perhaps if it went to junk mail

Maybe I’m in luck as long as I’m the first customer next Sunday when the store opens. My neighborhood Rite Aid has four diet Pepsi’s and eight Starry 2 liters that don’t expire until December 30, 2024…

RE: Free after Rebate: Splash Refresher 6 pack exp 12/31/2024
So no need to e-mail a copy of the receipt to get the rebate? I will go to Walmart and pick up a couple six packs. I got a bunch of these a couple years ago on a special offer with Swagbucks and to me they didn’t taste very good sort of like toilet water but free is free. There are people in the household that will drink it

Are you sure Refreshery! water will track as Big Win?
I wonder what the stock of Monster drinks snd Pepsi 2 liters will be like? I am sure it will be quite limited. Due to its size, not that easy to hide this product the night before the sale to buy it the next morning. Also be sure to check for expired or near expiring Pepsi. That was the problem I ran into last year.

Anyone get the $10 cash backl from Rakuten, 15 hours later I am not seeing anything tracking. I guess if I don’t see the $10 tracking in the next two weeks I can just cancel for a full refund as long as I don’t use the $5 off $5 for this month.

RE: Prior FRESH PASS Members (Acme/Alb/Safeway, etc) email offer for 50% off for a year, $10mm with 12x$5 credits ex 12/10
I decided to get Fresh Pass on one of my 4 accounts. It is a guaranteed $11 MM, with the chance of being a $21 MM should Rakuten pay out the promised $10 on the annual membership. it is kind of sad in today’s deal environment that this is considered a deal. There’s not too many truly good deals out there anymore.
Do you guys remember from last time around, if you cancel your fresh Pass account early will it still be valid until the expiration date or should you cancel like the day before to make sure that you don’t get charged??

Not much of a MM, only $11, and you have to remember to spend the $5 each month or else it isn’t free and temember to cancel. I think I will pass. Now if there was some sort of an offer that I could stack, like an Am Ex offer, then I might reconsider.

I believe 500 Swagbucks is equivalent to $5. That’s a pretty good deal, given that you can do it once a week up until Christmas Eve and you are getting half off anything at Hallmark. Since I have an account on both Swagbucks and Inbox Dollars, I can do it twice a week.

@mrvietnam said in Staples - New Offer STARTS 10/6 Recycle 10 ink carts at store get $25 in rewards make sure offer is activated:
Another thing that I noticed is when you redeem rewards points at Staples, you can only redeem them for a specific whole dollar amount it’s not like Rite Aid where if the cost is $14.49 you can redeem them for $14.49 in points and at Rite Aid they allow you to use your rewards points to pay for tax which they don’t at Staples either. Even at Staples competitor, Office Depot, they allow you to redeem your rewards money for dollars and cents, but not Staples. Just some observations that I’ve noticed.
In my state, rewards come off as coupons which lower the sales tax as well. If I use a $10/30 and $20 in rewards on a $32.10 order INC tax. I pay 30c oop at the end. Tax is wiped out except for 1-2c.
Same here in California, as long as they are store coupons. My point was that if you bought something for say $14.49 you could only use $14 in Staples rewards points on the order.
I just have an account for my wife and myself, but I could see how this new policy change would really screw up people that had multiple accounts they were managing under fictitious names.
What policy change? Using whole dollar increments began with the new program in Feb. How does it screw people up? Regardless of number of accounts you pay by the whole dollar.
The new policy change I am referring is stores now requiring to show ID when redeeming points.

I just saw something on reddit where they are having cashiers check id when redeeming points. That’s going to make things a lot more difficult for those managing multiple accounts.
So maybe instead of making a PIN to go with your phone number, they just elected to show ID when redeeming points.

RE: HOT!! Staples B&M w/activation Only 100% back in rewards points on ALL BATTERIES (up to 20K points) ends 11/2
One thing I could always use are those battery banks power banks that you can use to recharge like a cell phone and such when you’re out on the go. to see if those are included in the deal or not. I picked up some before at Office Depot when they had any size batteries on a 100% back in rewards offer.
Good find for finding this offer, though I gave you green
I wonder what kind of charities could make use of battery donations? I’ll have to research that out.Is this offer good on only a single pack of batteries or can you get more until you hit the 20K in points max?
EDIT: from reading the terms I see it says you can use the offer only once so I interpret that to me and you can only get one package of batteries for the offer.
Just as a sidenote because of what happened to me, I don’t recommend banking a huge amount of points at Staples. I recommend getting some points and then spending them rather quickly as the security at Staples isn’t very good and anybody that has your phone number can drain your account. I have heard that changes are on the way though.
-
RE: HOT!! Staples B&M w/activation Only 100% back in rewards points on ALL BATTERIES (up to 20K points) ends 11/2
OK, I will think outside of the AA and AAA box. LOL. But I have enough batteries for my car remote for the next 20 years thanks to Rite Aid specials when they still had them on batteries. But I’ll have to think if I have any use for any other size batteries I literally have a box that has probably 100 bat packs in it maybe I know the batteries have a shelf so I’ll end up throwing away a lot of them. I’m thinking about bringing my battery box to church at Christmastime and giving each family a pack of batteries
I find it interesting in the terms of the offer. It says it’s 100% and it’s the cost of the batteries and the price you pay at the register rounded DOWN to the nearest dollar. So if you spend $15.99 on a pack of batteries plus tax you’ll only be getting $15 back in points.
-
RE: HOT!! Staples B&M w/activation Only 100% back in rewards points on ALL BATTERIES (up to 20K points) ends 11/2
I have a box in my garage with dozens and dozens and dozens of battery packages that I got for free from Office Depot, so while these might be free at Staples after points I see no reason to get them because I’m already well stocked. I will have to check the Staples offer though and see if it’s only for AA and AAA batteries or for any batteries. If it’s for any size batteries, I might bite.

@mrvietnam Is the guy from NJ called Branden? I had the same problem with the person in NJ. Called staples and they refunded my points back
I don’t want to give out the state in case he monitors this board. Just curious though, when did your points get stolen and how long did it take them to refund your points back to you? From what the operations person told me at Staples is this points theft has been happening a lot lately so they’re trying to put a solution in place so once they replace points that they don’t get stolen again and again. I don’t blame them. I think a PIN number in addition to just a phone number would solve the issue. I think Staples also needs to implement two factor authorization when somebody tries to login online. We’ll see in the coming days what Staples plans too.

RE: Staples - New Offer STARTS AGAIN July 2025 Recycle 6 ink carts at store get $15 in rewards make sure offer is activated
Actually I found out the bad guy actually was able to drain all my points. I live in California. The points were redeemed in a store on the other side of the country. It’s been nearly 2 1/2 weeks now and Staples still hasn’t returned my points, but they are going to. I just called a couple days ago and they said they’re trying to do due diligence on their part because there’s an uptick on people stealing each other‘s points so they’re going to implement some system to make sure that it’s just the customers who own the points who redeem the points. I wouldn’t be surprised if they start including a password along with your phone number or something similar. They said they’re gonna try to roll it out next week sometime.
What was funny, is I actually called Staples in time to do some thing about it before the points were used. The representative told me she had frozen my account so nobody would be able to use it and the points were still there at the time, but just a couple hours later they were redeemed so it seems Staples, isn’t that good. She said when I called in that she had even changed the phone number on the account to some random number, so it’s unclear how the bad guy was actually able to use the points. Maybe sometimes the bad guys call in to Customer Service and since they have all the details, they impersonate the customer and do things to the account. That’s why most banks and credit card companies have voice recognition when you call and have very strict security measures but retail stores don’t go to that extent.
By the way, MC, I just did change my password on PW and lately I’ve been going around site to site giving each account a unique password. It makes my job a little bit harder cause I have to remember all those passwords but it’ll be really tight security now on my accounts… no doubt the information was stolen from the dark web from some data breach in the past. There are so many data breaches lately that it’s hard to keep up with them. About the only preventative measure we have is to change the password regularly and don’t use the single password over several accounts. Years ago when the data breaches were becoming very common, I locked my credit reports so I don’t have to worry about that aspect of it

Technically they do if you don’t use any for 18 months but you’ll probably use some before then.
Does the amount you tedeem Staples reward points lower your tax liability on your purchase? Maybe it depends on what state you are in. I will test it out today. I am planning to buy 2 12 ct boxes of Sharpie gel pens pricematched to Amazon and use a $10 off $30 coupon, bringing down the price to just 79 cents a pen or less if there is no tax levied.

99.2% (93.3K)What made this a must buy for me is when I was going through the checkout process I noticed they offered me a $25 off $50+ coupon (YMMV) and I clicked on it and it saved me $25. So after the $25 coupon and the 3% I am getting back from Am Ex Everyday Blue card, I paid $79.55, or 17.7 cents a cartridge. IMHO that is a very good price nowadays for empties. Since I recycle 30 cartridges a month, these 450 carts will last me for 15 months, or through January 2026.
I am very impressed with planetgreenelectronics. I bought a lot of 450 cartridges, but I divided them all into bags of 10 and counted them and they mailed me a whopping 628 (for the price of 450). I also got 36 cents back from TCB, so I only paid $79.19 for 628 empties, which comes to only 12.6 cents each. That is pre-pandemic pricing. Now I won’t be in the market to buy cartridges again until around October 2026. Wahoo!

I didn’t get an offer because I’ve bought from them in the past.I’m not sure who the offer was from but when I went through the checkout process, there was a banner at the top that offered me $25 off of $50 or more purchase. Not sure if that was from the seller or from eBay… I rarely use eBay these days for the past several years.
