@dangeruss I told an associate, “it’s on the menu, scroll down” (It’s on the menu of the items they accept for recycling). Associate asked, “Do you work for Staples?”

RE: Staples $10 Tech Recycling In Store Only 4/16 - 6/17posted in Expired Deals
I called Staples to ask why we didn’t get a $10 and a $5 Reward. The rep gave me his email address and I sent him a screen shot of the ad. He checked around and no one had an answer. He said that because the program was new maybe it wasn’t working properly and to compensate me he sent a $20 Reward coupon.

p.s. They gave me Elite status since they messed something up last year. Elite has a dedicated US based customer service phone number. I wouldn’t have bothered to call if I didn’t have that number.

@mrvietnam More caffeine than coffee usually has or are you talking about the caffeinated fruit beverages? I get the agave lemonade (no added caffeine) and the decaf coffee. I pour hot decaf into a paper cup then fill a large plastic cup with ice. After the decaf has cooled a bit I pour it over the ice to make iced decaf. I re-use both the paper and the plastic cups multiple times. The paper eventually starts to leak and reheating in the microwave melts the glue making them wear out faster. I carry clean empty cups & lids in my car.

Unusable at SCO.
?? since when, my SCO has GIFT CARD on the screen as payment option, you just swipe it.
I think we are talking about e-gift cards. Nothing to swipe.
There’s a bar code on the eGC. I always print to paper and tell the cashier how to use them even though the instructions are printed at the top. I’ve learned which cashiers know how to handle them and which cashiers will call for assistance.

@ctujackbauer It never hurts to try. The game has given me 6 Rewards so I need 6 more to get a $20/$20. Received 2 more for the Amazon gc purchase. I paid for the Amazon gc with a Shaw’s gc that’s been waiting for a reason to use it.

I decided that the game plays are not that important. What’s more important is finishing the categories to get the high value q’s.
I don’t have much use for most of the coupons. I have coupons for chicken breasts and chicken wings but the cats eat chicken thighs. When breasts and wings go on sale thighs are included in the sale but the coupons won’t work on those items. -

RE: Top Cashback $5 back wyb $25 at select merchants Exp. 6/22/23posted in Expired Deals
I have a $35 bonus for getting someone to sign up for TCB. Bonus is earned after the someone earns $10 cash back.
I just asked my brother to sign up then to order cat food for me at PetSmart.
So his new account should have $5 bonus + $2 (8% of $25 purchase) pending.
If we get a $2.50 bonus for July 4 could reach the $10 target with that purchase. -

I have (2) $15/$15 meat Q’s on a list. So it definitely can be clipped more than once.
The basket Qs stack!
I calculated my oop after all Qs trying to stack a $20/$20.
e.g. $17.95 meat -$15/$15 =>$2.95
3 English muffins B1G2F $5.29 -$1/1 bread => $4.29
Case of water $4.99 -50¢ sale price - $1.56/1 clipped weekly q - $1/1 game q => $1.97.
My receipt says my total was $77.18 and Total Savings Value was 100%.
Not really 100%. I paid 8¢.
Earned $5.25 iBotta and will sell the water for $2 at yard sale. -

@yoregano Typically they offer it once a month at the beginning of the month or around a holiday. The $5/$25 was an unusual midweek midmonth offer. We should get our next offer at the beginning of August and then one for Labor Day. October’s offer will likely be for Columbus Day (sorry, I don’t know the PC name for it) and then hopefully increased offers from November to Xmas.

I bought 2 bottles of tonic water $1.25 each -$1/2 Schweppes J4u -$1/1 fizzy beverage FA q and 2@$200 Shaw’s/Albertsons et al gc. I was converting eGC to plastic gc for easier use. Handed the cashier 4@$100 printouts of the eGC. Was left with a balance of $2xx on one of them because a $5/$5 Fresh Pass attached covering the tonic water and part of the plastic gc.
You can now show the cashier a scan of the eGC. I don’t think that was possible before. I still print them so I can point out the Cashier Instructions.
eGC now have QR codes, no bar codes.
We used to be able to load a max of $200 to a Safeway eGC. Now the limit is $100. The limit is still $250 instore.
We used to be able to purchase store branded eGC e.g. Acme, Shaw’s, Safeway which could be used in any in the chain regardless of what the eGC had printed on it. The max was $100 for Shaw’s & Acme eGC so I bought and used Safeway eGC because the Safeway max was $200. Now if you search for Acme, Shaw’s or Safeway on Amazon they don’t come up. You have to search for Albertsons. -

@mistercheap Arrgh. I should’ve read more carefully before I purchased. It’s for a DD gc not real money. DD coffee is on sale for $6xx this week so the 50% off chocolate covered strawberry flavor is $3xx. I thought that I had a MM getting $4 back on a $3xx purchase. Instead I have a bag of flavored coffee. I don’t need a DD gc nor the hassle of their program.

I need ink for recycling so I bought ink at Staples for 50% back in Rewards. TCB excludes ink purchases from cash back.
I bought a Staples egc from iBotta where you can use money in your account to pay and get 5% back.
I ordered the ink through iBotta where ink isn’t excluded from cash back. Paid with the egc.
The 5% for the eGC and 2.5% for the ink are pending in my account.
Same % if I’d paid with my Chase ink 5% back but this cashes out some of my iBotta account and doesn’t use part of my Chase ink 5% back. I max out the Chase 5% on utilities and buying prepaid Visa cards. Prepaid Visa cards aren’t an option on iBotta.I get >$1K a year from iBotta. Thanks for the HU.

Interesting. I just won the rotating ice cream game. I got all strawberry ice creams, but it only gave me a sweepstakes entry. I wonder if that is some kind of an error or if they are out of prizes. I read a few days ago that happened to another person on SD.
Kind of sucks finally winning a mini-game, but not getting a deserved prize for it.
Same thing happened to me a few days ago. Also with strawberry. I’ve also clicked the correct flower pot and not received the prize. That was a couple of weeks ago so I don’t think it’s because they are out of prizes.

@mistercheap It was one of my last to be picked… between that and bakery. Three of my cats have had J4u accounts for years. When I finished all the bonuses on an account I decided to start playing on an account that hadn’t been playing. Earned the $15 meat and now the “cat food” q moved up to #2.

I used the $15/$15 household and $15/$15 “cat food” Q’s today. I started by using a $10/$10 basket coupon so it wouldn’t interfere. Then, because the card has a $20/$20 I did the $15 cleaning in one transaction and the $15 cat food in a separate transaction.
I don’t need any household supplies so I got 4 bottles of Method dish soap @$3.79 ea. Paid 16¢, earned $6 iBotta ($1.50 ea.) and will try to sell them for $2 ea. at next year’s yard sale.

Albertsons $5 eGC are a redemption option if you have 750 PGGE points. PGGE had gone back to just DD and Starbucks eGC so I didn’t redeem any points and expressed my dissatisfaction in a survey. I guess others did the same. Yesterday they sent an email saying that the better gc are available while supplies last. They also have Amazon, HD, etc. Limit 2 per month but was able to get 2 today vs used to be only able to get one a week.

In the summer clearance there were bags of stuffed marshmallows (?) and of Starburst pops 50% off so $1.99/bag of pops. I got 5 Starburst pops (the iBotta limit). Added in some previous week sale items with raincheck to use a $20/$20. 15 individually wrapped pops/bag so I have 75/100 needed for Halloween. Waiting to make sure that iBotta resets before buying more. 75¢ back per bag. Expiration date is April 2024 for the candy.

@mistercheap. Good deal but I’m still working on stockpiled shreds exp. 2022. IF I were to get a 32oz. bag I’d repackage them to keep them from molding. Or make a big lasagne and freeze it.
I’ve been waiting for a couple of things to go on sale and they will be on sale starting tomorrow. It’s going to be a busy final week. I’m going to have to rearrange my refrigerators and freezers to make room. Fortunately many of the things in my refrigerator don’t require refrigeration e.g. coffee, nuts, dried fruit, oil, ketchup, mustards, batteries, facial moisturizers, garden seeds, etc.

@mistercheap said in Fresh Pass Question: Points Expire? vs Rewards?:
Was clipping my Sept. Fresh Pass offers and noticed where I had about 65/100 points banked towards 100, those points are now 0 (reset on 9/1). My ‘earned’ rewards are there but not the points, is that correct? you lose the points if you don’t hit 100 in a month to convert them to a reward?
correct. that’s why I never earn Rewards buying groceries. I never reach 100 in a month.
