@ctgolfer Imo a much wiser choice, if you’re doing the SYWR points thing, is buying the Yost 905-AS 5" all-steel vise, currently priced at $84.99 (less than Amazon), applying whatever SYWR points and/or coupons to get it down to just over $75. I’ve got a similar Yost all-steel vise and it’s great.

@backsplatter I recommend you take a look at this 6" vise in person before ordering. I did a few months back, and was pretty disappointed. As in offset jaws, uneven closing, rough castings. Even though (in theory) it’s free, it would likely be a continual source of frustration.
Btw Sears does sell Yost vises, which are great in comparison. Even though much smaller, you’d likely get more satisfaction from the Yost BV-4 bench vise.
Too bad they just raised the price on that to $60–it was $47 just a few days ago. But if you added another $15.01 or more of tools to your order, you could get that “free” too, lol.
And yes, those Bessey vise jaws are the bomb for clamping soft items or tubes etc!

@mistercheap Yeah, me too on the employees thing. They’ve been super helpful to me, especially in the Sears store online pickup department. Thanks largely to the SYWR points stuff, Sears and Kmart have provided me great deals on tools, household items, and even clothes/shoes over the last few years. I’m always baffled with gripes on SYWR.

Unlike a lot of recent new gimmicky Craftsman tools, this one can actually be useful.
Note you may need to tighten the 3mm hex head pivot screw to get the right amount of tension.
A drop of loctite on the two pivot screw threads wouldn’t be a bad addition either (I did it on mine).
Too bad that Sears made this one the same (red) color as the corresponding SAE size one…

Afaik, if on the Kmart or Sears checkout page they say “You get $nn.nn CASHBACK in points to use later”, you should get it. You have to read the terms carefully, as it might be awarded at a later date (as in this $25 cashback deal, where “Points credit to account on 12/4/18 and expire on 12/10/18.”).
I’m thinking as long as you’re out-of-pocket $25 (before tax), as well as after any coupons, freecash, etc. you should be ok. But this is Kmart, after all…

Well at my local Sears store they accepted my SYWR points today, and even awarded points!
But it was only the first day of the actual liquidation, with yellow % signs at 10% for most stuff.

@lo This last offer would make sense if you had a healthy Kmart store nearby, such that you could use the points on normal household supplies or grocery items (assuming there is such a thing as healthy Kmart store), and you were a gambler at heart. Otherwise, not so much.
@sportsfan64 If I only had a nearby Kmart or Sears store to burn points at! Our local Kmart store shut down over a year ago, and our local Sears store is in the final stage of closing–not much left there, and no store pickup possible.
Plus for online sales, they no longer accept points to pay towards shipping. So I’m out of pocket for that on any online order.

Seriously, if brand names aren’t your thing, I think you might squeak by with Cooks Standard branded cookware, and even afford to buy it new/unblemished.
We got this Cooks Standard 5 quart saute pan (link to Amazon for reference) a couple of years ago from Sears, and it’s been amazing! We used SYWR points of course, and ended up paying about what tax would be for the equivalent All Clad pan…
@ctgolfer Some Walmart stores are also clearing out older model Franklin Sports pickleball paddles, usually located near the tennis racquets (if not moved to some central Clearance spot). I found a graphite one that rang up for $7, and an aluminum one that was $4.
Distant cousin to tennis I know, but fun to play imo.

@ctcarl I love that it comes in “Frustration-Free Packaging” (at least the lowest cost one). Whereas the “Standard Packaging” is 3 times the price!
So many times I’ve been almost reduced to tears just getting my R/C model out of the standard clamshell packaging!
