They might, although, OD gives you three months from the get go vs 45 days at Staples.

Staples has stopping accepting cartridges in-store. I have not heard any reports about OD doing that yet.

Then they need to refund people’s ‘PLUS’ memberships, since that’s why I joined it to get the ink cartridge bonus of 20 per month.

Staples is accepting empties by mail instead of in person. In the past recycling by mail has been problematic but maybe they’ll fix it when they get an influx.in-store Services Temporarily Suspended:

Just printed a label. Thanks, that was easy. Just have to keep track of the delivery date and make sure credit is applied.

Staples rewards issued today also have the 6/30 expiration date.
My 20 cartridges were delivered last Friday 4/3. Based on the stories I have heard, I don’t expect my account to be credited for a while, and the count is likely to be wrong.

I just shipped mine in yesterday. It dawned on me that the mailing label is the only thing that identifies that it’s from
me. Was I supposed to print something to put into the box with the cartridges?

@george2001 There wasn’t anything to be enclosed. Thanks for pointing this out. I’ll going to enclose my info in the envelope. Someone else suggested taking a picture of the empties. I’ll take picture of empties with the info I’m enclosing and the label.

I put a copy of the shipping label inside the package. I also wrote “20” and circled it, but they’ll probably not look at it.

yes, definitely ship now. already the 10th, thinking to allow as long as 2 weeks to have it credited. up to a week in transit depending where you are shipping the package from.

@dangeruss I thought I read something about 7-10 days on the website and I was surprised given all the negative stuff I’ve heard about online recycling. So if it takes e.g. 4 days to get there then 3 days in quarantine before they open them then 10 days to process… Yeah, I’d ship them now for April. They go via UPS and my closest UPS drop off location is Staples.
Are Staples stores still accepting UPS drop off?

I scheduled a UPS pick up from home (front porch).
I shipped on 4/9 (from So. Cal.), and their estimated delivery is next Wednesday, 4/15, so 6 days.

Last I knew, yes, shipped a package there on 3/31.

This is the response I received a couple of days ago from Staples chat offline responding to a question I asked a couple of weeks ago:
Qualifying cartridges recycled online can take up to 6 to 8 weeks for processing. If after 8 weeks you do not see the recycled cartridges under your account please contact us with your Rewards customer number along with your UPS tracking number and we will be happy to further research this for you. The “bolded” words were from Staples.

pretty ridiculous on their part, if they rec’d your April carts on 4/10 and credit them 8 weeks later, that’s early June. I’m not going to take kindly to missing out on 2 months $80 in rewards, they should at least back adjust the credit so people aren’t penalized. I could deal with a delay in getting them but not being told my carts weren’t received in time for the rewards.
