I heard it will take 7-12 days to receive your test. By that time you will have already fully recovered. What a waste of taxpayer money.

Wonder how many of these are the expired ones from that warehouse in Florida. Except now they’re magically unexpired, because of course expiration dates mean nothing.

In NYC covid contact tracing is huge. I don’t really get the point of it now that so many people are testing at home and don’t report their results anywhere.
I tested positive at home 2 weeks ago with 3 at-home tests and towards the end also went for pcr testing. The 2 days I tested negative, I got my pcr results and 2 days later got a call from NYC Test&Trace and was asked to provide all sorts of info; with whom I have been in contact, where I have been, my symptoms, how I feel now etc etc.
I just feel it’s such a pointless waste of resources!

Haven’t received mine yet, but saw a note somewhere that insurances now will reimburse you for 6 tests a month or something. Now, could one, for example, buy those with staples rewards (I saw staples carries them for about $25) and get reimbursed for the full value?

@dangeruss President Biden ordered insurance companies to reimburse policy holders for up to 8 tests per month (I’m surprised he has that power). Many test kits contain 2 tests, so it would be 4 test kits in that case. Also, take note if this applies to you, Home covid tests are not covered by Medicare and many Medicare Advantage plans.

@frugalpete I need to amend my post. The New York Times reporting today "Medicare, which covers roughly 60 million Americans, will provide free over-the-counter rapid coronavirus tests beginning in the spring, according to the federal government’s Medicare and Medicaid agency.
The policy would “allow Medicare beneficiaries to pick up tests at no cost at the point of sale and without needing to be reimbursed,” the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services said on Thursday, adding that it would "be the first time Medicare covered the whole cost of an over-the-counter test.
