~250,000 voters in Pennsylvania looked at Doug Mastriano, a man who was at the Capitol on 1/6, a man who organized a bus full of the tourists who invaded the Capitol, a man who says if he was Governor he would have voided the 2020 PA election result and Trump would still be in office, a man who has pledged to purge the PA election roll of “invalid” voters… and said “yep, that’s who we want for our next Governor”.
And Pennsylvania’s not unique in doubling down on this right-wing nuttery. I genuinely think we’re in trouble, not a new Civil War scale trouble, more something like The Troubles in Northern Ireland with violence from both extremist ends. The 2024 election is going to be a mess.

As far as I could tell, that person only ever posts in that thread. I suspect they have a bookmark that goes directly into that thread and never leave it. Thus I am hopeful that this thread will not be similarly sullied.

I live in Cleveland, right next door to Pennsylvania. Outside the big cities at the east and west end of the state, PA gets very Republican very fast.

I’m well aware. I regularly drive through Carbon county and Susquehanna county (and rural Eastern Maryland - holy crap!). The Trump love, and Biden hate, is astonishing. And Biden is literally one of them - a local, working class, Christian who pulled himself up by his bootstraps.

Urgh. It’s looking like the police in Uvalde chronically mishandled* the school mass shooting, and got their lies out ahead of the truth.

The shooter was wearing body armor! Nope.
The shooter barricaded himself in! Nope, he locked a door and this was too much for police to overcome (school staff eventually unlocked the door for police).They waited up to an hour to enter the school. Well, most of them did, at least one local police entered the school, got their own child and left. The ~40 police in attendance physically stopped parents from trying to rescue their children.
Good guys with a gun. Back The Blue. Heroes.

My adblock app has a 4.6 rating and over 10million D/Ls. Click “quote” on one of my posts and you’ll see NOTHING but my disclaimer and a video link. On the other hand kamal has been posting nothing but dozens and dozens of what I assume are copied pages which contain who knows what, and have zero to do with politics for about a year. He’s literally a psychopath stalker.

Fox went commercial free for the duration of the hearings last night. Probably afraid their viewers might switch the channel during commercials.
No commercials means no income from showing ads, so they’re actively giving up money to try to make sure their viewers dont find out about the content of the hearings.
