I think it just means you can buy a $20 gift card directly from tcb as an easy way to fulfill the $2.50 offer.

Buy a $20 egc from TCB, earn $2.50.
Make a purchase through ShopBack. Pay using the egc. Earn % from ShopBack?Not sure if this still works, but for those with j4u, buy supermarket eGC. The next time you buy Zift cards use the supermarket eGC to pay.
