I don’t believe that’s related to any grace period. These coupons do not expire until the “coupon series” (first 5 digits) has expired.

if you have a $40 rewards check to stack it with, sort of the same since there’s no longer a balance coupon given. Have to spend the $40 at once, so you get the free $10 by spending $50 (-10q - 40rewards =$0

Slightly OT, but for those who claimed the Amex offer on $30 back on $100 or more for shopping at Staples, did anyone get the notification via email that they claimed the offer? As, I bought the $200 Visa GC yesterday,and don’t see a credit pending, which Amex has always done when redeeming their Staples offers.
Update- checked Amex site today and got the $30 credit, but no email notification.

I got it when I was looking at the weekly ad. Regular browser even with my Staples account logged in.

I could only get a $15/$60 online coupon with signup for emails AND texts. Then I turned on my gps faker to a location within a few minutes of a store (we live about 60 miles from the closest) and then the $10/$20 coupon popped up. Just FYI if you are having trouble.

Happy to report that coupon code 35284 for $10 off $30 is still working.
Had a $20 ink reward to redeem, got about $30 worth of stuff, gave cashier the 35284 code, then my rewards coupon, total was $1.34 oop. very happy! Don’t hesitate to give them this code, and score some extra stuff with your rewards vouchers.

10% was the rate they always paid on ink, so to advertise it as some’deal’ is laughable. OD is still giving 30% on ink. Staples needs to stop being so cheap, no one is shopping there at these prices/crappy offers.

As far as I recall, you can’t/couldn’t do that, but since I mostly use Rewards to get toner cartridges and other office supplies, I’ve never paid attention to any of the restrictions. Didn’t someone mention you could use them to get stamps? I’m already well stocked on postage stamps though. I’ve got $120 in rewards that expire at the end of the month. I was looking at their window air conditioners 8000 btu and 10000 btu, but nothing seemed to be of good dependable quality. We’re already well stocked on household items like paper towels and toilet paper and cleaners, etc., as well.

No, you can’t use them on GC’s or stamps at Staples (Office Depot allows them redeemed on stamps)
Do you have 3 x $40 certs or one giant $120 reward?
As for some other ideas how to spend them: Coffee, KCups, Bottled Water, Laundry/Dishwasher Detergent, use some of the rewards to ship items to family members, you can price match at the store to make your rewards go further. Kiosk orders get free shipping no minimum that you pay for in store. @Dionaea if you have any other questions, feel free to ask. Good luck. $120 is a lot to spend, will have to be creative.

Thanks, mistercheap. I had forgotten it is Office Depot that allows purchase of stamps. The $120 is in 3 $40 Rewards. One of them was issued because Staples messed up the recording of the ink cartridges I turned in one month, and the customer rep issued a new certificate. Normally you can only accumulate two $40 Rewards, I know. They don’t carry my husband’s favorite coffee, I’ve got enough laundry detergent to last 3 years, no dishwasher, don’t use Kcups, no close family members on either side, we’re retired and at the stage of getting rid of clutter, just difficult to figure out what we could really use other than a back-up air conditioner in case the 8-year-old one in the bedroom bites the dust. Or just get another toner cartridge - those run about $80 for my laser printer.

@dionaea About air conditioners, and without knowing your budget, it might be worth checking out what is available at either a local Costco or Sams Club store (in case you are a member).
Reportedly, they are starting to clear out many window units are reduced prices. I bought a Midea 12K BTU unit a few months back for $280, and it’s great–uses inverter technology. It’s power efficient, running fine on 120V.
Btw, beforehand I also was scoping out AC units on Staples, figuring it might be a way to cash out some ink rewards. Glad I didn’t now…

I don’t put it past Staples but seems like a dumb move IMO. Used my last ink rewards about a month ago, not spending $50 for ink to keep it going. But if the kiosks really are being removed and no more free shipping from store placed orders, just another reason not to step foot in their stores. It’s amazing, they used to be a deal hunters dream. Monetized so many rewards via their rebates at one time, that ship sailed too quite some time ago.
