@goldsheet Yes I saw that but pretty moot if the rate goes to 0.10%. I assume only one account per person.
I went and signed up yesterday. Already have external accounts set up today, so they are fast. Will see how long that rate lasts.
Customers Bank business interest checking drops from 1.00% to 0.50% on April 20th.
Mortgage rates went up about 2 percentage points from under 4% to nearly 6% in a few weeks but savings rates struggle to rise 1/10 percent at a time. Ain’t that great.
CIBC Agility Savings Account now 1.27% but it won’t let you pull money from an external account. You can only go from the external account into CIBC.
PurePoint savings which has one of the best ACH speeds and limits and which HAD one of the highest rates, has been stuck at 0.40% for over a year. Why haven’t THEY gone up?

I just got an email today saying thanks for opening an account. I guess I’m in after applying a week ago. Wonder if the hassle was worth it when another bank offers 2.75% next week.
I called them last night at 9:30 and left a message about not getting my account number after a week. Surprise surprise 10 minutes later I get a call back from a human saying they will email tomorrow the info. Sure enough, they did.

Looks like the Elements Financial Credit Union Helium Savings promo at 3.25% has been discontinued. The account page now shows the non-promo 1.00% rate for balances above $2,500. I believe the promo guaranteed the 3.25% rate for 1 year for anyone who signed up.
I’m locked in for a year. Guess they got too many customers.
Between Bask Bank and Elements Financial. It’s almost like same day although I didn’t check last night, the funds are available this morning for a transfer I made yesterday. Most other banks take 3-5 days. Wow.

I still have a MMA there from a few years ago. Called and they will bump up to this current rate without having to open a new account. So not closing unused accounts eventually pays off.

How much hassle is getting 0.10% more interest over banks with 4.25% APY worth it? I only have one personal checking account with Alliant that pays virtually nothing. I would have to ACH money to that account from one of my external accounts paying 4.00% and wait for it to clear Then transfer from Alliant to MSD and wait another few days to clear. All the while losing a bunch of interest along the way. Why can’t MSD take your funds from savings or MMA accounts? Why must it be a personal checking account? It’s like they are putting up this barrier so people don’t actually open up an account.
So it was Impossible to keep down, eh? Don’t they use Olestra as a substitute for the fat?

Interest is a lousy 3%, but if my math is correct, with the max bonus it come out to 7.5%? 3% on $50K for four months is $500, plus the $750 bonus = $1250 interest.

I’d be very careful about opening an account there. Site seems a bit fishy and many online reviews suggest it’s a scam. No phone number for contact is one red flag. That you have to download an app to a phone to use it and not being able to use a computer is another.
