My state switched to Real IDs about 10 years ago.

Each state had been setting its own requirements for verifying identification for driver’s licenses. The Real ID requires that all states follow a single set of standardized criteria, set by the Department of Homeland Security.

What is Real ID?

Real ID, in general terms, refers to the federal legislation intended to deter terrorism by implementing several new homeland security regulations. The rules establish the minimum standards, procedures, and requirements that must be met if a state-issued driver’s license or identification card is to be accepted by the Federal government for official purposes. Official purposes, as defined by the rules, include:

• Entering a nuclear power facility
• Entering a Federal building and
• Boarding a federally regulated airplane

The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) established these minimum standards in with the REAL ID Act of 2005. These regulations set standards for all states to meet the requirements of the REAL ID Act, including, but not limited to:

• Security features that must be incorporated into each state driver’s license or identification card
• Verification of information provided by applicants to establish their identity and lawful status in the United States
• Physical security standards for locations where licenses and identification cards are issued

Yes, it looks like everyone received the same amount.

I ported my phone number to Google voice so that whenever I switch phone providers I don’t have to keep porting over and over (and risking my number). I just link whatever phone number the provider assigns me to my Google voice number. I never give anyone the provider assigned number, everyone just keeps calling me on the Google voice number.

This also allows me to send texts and make calls for free on my PC using my Google voice number. I do this by installing the Bluestacks app on my PC (it’s an android emulator that let’s you install and run any android app on your PC), and then use Bluestack to install the Google voice app.

No Bluetooth required.

Dex does appear to be only for Samsung devices (Galaxy 8 and later releases I think).

They do have a wireless option if the monitor/computer/tv supports Miracast and you have a Galaxy Note 20 or newer

It’s really a full scale computer emulator (i.e., turn your mobile device into a computer). Seems like overkill if all you want to do is send texts and transfer files.

This has not been a problem for me because I dont cancel subscriptions for S&S items I repurchase regularly. So I always have at least 20 reocurring items in my S&S order every month even though I NEVER actuslly place orders that large (near the end of the month/the deadline for modifying my order, I skip items I don’t want and click through to the product page for those I do want and create a new order if the current price is cheaper). Whenever I create a new S&S order, I always select 6 months as the delivery schedule for everything. For those 2 reasons, I would not have noticed what you described because I always have more than 5 items scheduled for delivery and they all have the same 6 month delivery schedule. Like you, however, when editing my delivery to whittle it down to the few items I’ll actually buy that month, I always make sure to have at least 5 items in my final order to get the maximum 15% discount (when applicable as the maximum discount varies by item).

1. I never place S&S orders through the cart because the S&S discount is always substantially less for the first order (unless I’m willing to forgo the extra discount because I need it ASAP). Instead, I use the orange “set up now” button on the product page.

2. They are definitely messing around with how S&S works. I just placed two separate S&S orders for the same item (to get the clippable coupon on more than one item). For the first time ever, I got a message that warned me that the second order was a duplicate order and was asked if I was sure I wanted to place it.

I thought of a scenario that is still a potential problem with the workaround of placing an order and then cancelling it immediately to just use S&S: when an item has a discount (separate from the S&S discount) from a clicking a checkbox on the item page that is only applied to the first order. I suspect if I try the order-then-cancel approach, I would lose that extra discount. I may have to experiment if I can find an item I don’t really care about with an extra discount and see what happens.

I have no idea about the I Spy schedule. Sometimes I find them when I go on Twitter for the search wins. Usually works if it’s 3 hrs later but not 5 hrs. I post here when it works.

Do you get 4 search wins? I get #3 on different browser. But not 4th one even using 3 browsers.

They’ve made it ridiculously time consuming to win searches, so I usually stop at 1 per day. If I go for 2 or more I’m either desperate to reach a goal or trying to win a certain Collector’s Bill. I rarely have the patience to go for 3 search wins in a day, but definitely not 4! I have heard others say they can still win 4 searches a day, so I’m guessing it’s still possible.
