Agree with jtownsucks46, get Primis checking 4.77%, and request free checks
Supplement with a savings account, like CFG @ 5.02%, so far = good
Just opened Newtek @ 5.00%, onboarding was easy, but too soon to evaluate.
Don’t really care for or have custodial accounts via savebetter

RE: New 5% account from Newtek Bank
In the FAQ it says "Withdrawals from your account can only be transferred to the original external funding source."
Just makes me wonder how many external accounts one can link and how they would keep track of where funds came from. -

Good luck opening an account. When they deny you they wont give any reason. Glad they did now.
Already had an account.
Also, financial institutions are not required to give you a reason.

FYI only: Wells Fargo $525 Savings Bonus With $25,000 Deposit (In-Branch)
$525 on $25k is 2.1% If you hold from account opening until bonus payment (120 days) it’s only about 6%. APY
If you wait almost until the 30-day requirement to fund and you close promptly you can get the holding period down to maybe 70 days which makes it close to 11% APY

Thanks; will update. $2,500 max each transfer up to 10 a month but total amount limited to $10,000 total a month is garbage IMO.
Agree, $10k > $0, but still almost useless.

One alternative is the pull money from Salem Five using Bask (no limits), then push into Republic. Hate to use/abuse Bask doing that.,
I’ve done that. How is that abuse?
I would prefer not to do it.
If I did it a few times it would be acceptable (use),
but rather not move in/out too frequently (abuse)
Just my opinion. -
RE: Best Nationally Available High APY Liquid Accounts
@atikovi
Usually not a problem, but I’m trying to move money from Salem Five (5k/20k limits) to Republic Bank Chicago (2.5k/10k limits) so push or pull is no good.

RE: Republic Bank Digital Money Market
"Bank does not offer ACH service so funds must be ACH pushed from another bank, wired, or mailed in via check"
I called them and was able to activate external transfers, add and verify external accounts, but have not made a transfer yet.
Tried to make a $10,000 transfer but "Unable to process request. The transfer amount exceeds
the maximum allowed for external transfers. Please reduce the amount to complete the transfer."
I don’t know the limit, but it’s less than I require.UPDATE: The monthly maximum is 10 total external transfers, not to exceed the aggregate monthly total of $10,000.00. The individual transfer limit is $2,500.00 per transaction.

[07:06:17pm] Checks are not automatically ordered. They would need to be requested after the account is established
[07:10:37pm] Thank you! I can order the checks for you. Can you please let me know if you want singles or duplicates and then can you verify the mailing address.
[07:13:07pm] Wonderful! I’ll get them ordered for you. They will take up to 2 weeks to receive. -

Your mention of a 50 cent debit card rebate reminded me of Fidelity Bloom
Somewhat off topic (delete if so) but here’s the deal.
Open and deposit $25, get $50 bonus
Deposit $300 into Save, get 10% = $30
Then for a limited time they give you $1 per debit transaction > $10
Have to open via app. but then shows up with your other Fidelity accounts online.
All funds sit in SPAXX, with a current rate of 3.85%
