Perhaps, but when you get 6-12% back in Cashback (depending on the current rate) on top of paying with rewards or even credit, it’s a good deal IMO. Plus the pick up feature is quick to run in and grab it, don’t need to make a schlep into a big Walmart store.

Here’s another option many of you will hopefully find helpful.

Paypal now allows for ‘split payments’ between payment types in their ‘wallet’ when you check out using Paypal.

For instance, I just linked a $4 Prepaid MC I got from a NBPR Bud rebate to Paypal, and on my next paypal purchase, I’ll split payment between $4 on that card and my other usual payment source.

Naturally you need to use a site that accepts paypal, many do, and some even for $5 e gift cards if you want to go that route.

My plan is to use my ‘bank’ of egift cards against Office Depot or Walgreens pick up orders. I have spend $10 a month at OD anyway for ink recycle, so that’s a few bucks towards it each time.

If you have any other ideas in below $5 cards, please share. Will leave in HD for a time since this a popular issue amongst many on the forums.

The Big Lots near me recently reopened after we got flooded last summer. I have to assume it was worth the cost to restore it although the store has never seemed busy and I never find anything that can’t be bought for less elsewhere.

I don’t think they’ll be closing up everywhere anytime soon, sure they’ve got at least a year. More concerning is if the 40 stores are all concentrated in one area due to theft/high operating costs versus a smattering of stores all over that are underperforming.

The Big Lots near my Mom in FL closed up earlier in 2024, was in that location a very long time but in a very dead plaza.

Many stores have banners on their web pages that read “closing this location” while alerting customers they could “save up to 20% off.”

Among those are roughly 60 of the 109 Big Lots stores in California, according to KTXL.

As of Tuesday, Nexstar found 89 additional stores across 27 states with closure notices on their web pages.

So check out 2 weeks ago was at 4:27 and today was at 4:12 so literally 15 min earlier than exactly 2 weeks. The reminder text came at 3:25 so I figured it was safe and it already says it was approved so I assume I’ll get the $5.

I think the key is calendar days versus time of day on day 14. as long as it is 2 weeks later you’re ok.

Given just a few days ago Walgreens announced they intended to close a bunch of stores, it’s surprising they’d be taking on any of Rite Aid’s stores.

Per a store manager: The court date was recently finally held. He said while there may be more store closures to come, as a ‘chain’ they are likely ok until after the New Year when things would be evaluated again.

Take it for what’s it’s worth, but hopefully true that that would still be around for at least the rest of 2024.
