@MrVietnam depends, if the coupon auto scans for the $3 with other stuff on the order, you’ll be okay, if it beeps due to being more than the selling price of the item ($1.99) cashier will adjust it most likely.

Last I heard, in general, was that the overage days at Target wasn’t like it used to be, that they beefed up their point of sale system. But YMMV on this given scenario.
