RE: Swagbucks: Earn ongoing Swagbucks at local resturants (inc some fast food chains) with linked credit card, get $5 bonus (500 points) with first charge
If you’re going to do SB, make sure to do the other cash back apps as they sometimes have overlapping restaurants/bars/breweries. I recently ate a local restaurant that was 4% back at SB, 18% back at Upside, 5% back at Dosh and 5% back with T-Mobile Dining. I also got $10 bonus offers with Upside and T-Mobile. So on a ~$54 bill, I got around $32 back. That was pretty unusual obviously but if you are going to go there anyway, might as well earn a few bucks back.
Note, if you don’t have T-Mobile, Rakuten must use the same network as you can’t add cards to both apps at the same time. Now that I got my T-Mobile bonus, I’ll switch back to Rakuten since T-Mobile you have to build up $10 before you get credited, whereas Rakuten just comes back every quarter no matter how much you earned.

RE: Upside app - anyone ever get credited?
I have to say that after posting this, I’ve had no issues with Upside and only positive experiences. They did credit me for the receipt above and they’ve made it so you don’t have to submit the receipt so it avoids the issue I had where the receipt didn’t have the last 4 digits. I just went to the same place I complained about above and was credited in a day or so. Due to stacking codes I was able to save about 30% off 2 gas fill ups so that saved about $30. I also was able to refer my SO and we both made money on that and we’ve made some money in her account as well so we’re probably around $100 back in the last few months. So I’d recommend Upside if you aren’t using it.
-
RE: Upside promo codes
Finally found a code that works! “Perksatwork230” for 30 cents off a gallon for next 2 fillups. Whatever code I had before was giving me 12-13 cents off, so now I’m seeing 42-43 cents off. Better than nothing.

Free Mug Root beer up to $8 ENDS 5/7 so buy soon!
Get free mug root beer after rebate (up to $8). Text FREEMUG to 7373773774 to start the process.
Receipt must be dated between April 9, 2024, and May 7, 2024. All requests must be made by May 14, 2024.Surprised this hasn’t been posted (that I could find). Did it with both our phone numbers and got paid within a few days. First time I paid full price for a 12 pack - $10, but got $1 back with Snipp (BOA grocery deals) and 50 cents back with my Citi Custom Cash (5% of $10) so not bad for 50 cents.
2nd time, I got it on sale for $3.99 and was surprised they only sent me $3.99 instead of $8. The Rockstar rebate gives you $5 every time no matter how much you paid. Oh well, free is free.

Ragu pasta sauce at Target is close to break-even again with the X pattern on the Swago board. +100 SB for buying 2, +250 SB for the X pattern. $1.99 cost for each jar of Ragu.
If you’re a gambling man/woman, then it’s a $.75 money-maker if you buy one jar of Ragu. +25 SB for buying 1, +250 SB for the X pattern. However, I’ve never actually tried buying just the one because the Swago board requires a premium deal marked by a star - it should qualify if you buy one because it has a star, but the vast majority of premium deals are over $.50 (50 SB back) and given Swagbucks tendency to send Magic Receipts into receipt review and not getting a reply back because this Swago ends October 31; all this means it’s a slight gamble for buying one jar.
That said, breaking-even on groceries is becoming exceedingly tougher due to the coupon apps recent lack of deals, so these offers are quite competitive, comparatively.
You could also factor in any to-do list and daily goal bonuses.
What coupon apps are still out there? Right now I’m only using e-coupons offered by grocery stores that are linked to my store card/account.
The digital coupons are probably best, you already know it will work with the store you’re shopping at, especially if things go awry at the register and your coupon doesn’t credit.
ibotta: still has good referral bonuses. scrolling through a bunch of deals that aren’t really spectacular, occasional freebies or BOGO offers. traditional bonuses for redeeming more offers is unobtainable for me because I don’t really do that much branded shopping. Redeems as true cash back by paypal or gift cards.
fetch rewards: this is the simplest, you just take a picture of the receipt and are immediately credited points (2.5 cents every grocery/restaurant/paper receipt for anything in a store) and their offers are not bad for the brands that partner with fetch. Redeems as gift cards.
checkout51: this one seems to be dying out, SmartSource (the newspaper coupon Sunday circular) bought this app a while ago and has kept it afloat. There seems to be a lack of new offers, although they also have the best recurring offer of $2 off $10 fresh beef that no other coupon app offers. Redeems as paypal or a physical check.
Tada/Magic Receipts: strangely, some of their offers are very competitive, even though they don’t have a ton of brand partners. And the offers for stuff like Fruit of the Loom or Hanes are unique among coupon apps in that they’re high-dollar amounts and recurring every week (you can use once a week and it comes back, extremely rare in coupon apps.)
coupons.com: this is the simplest, clip coupon, take pic of a receipt, get paypal instantly. the problem is that they rarely have great offers, and their offers on food are becoming even more rare. the other problem is they have restrictions on redeeming manufacturer coupons (paper coupons) or even store coupons (CVS Extrabucks or those instant register discounts at Costco) and every offer becomes a gamble as to whether you get paid or not.
receipt hog: takes forever to build up even a $5 cashout, but this app is quite good if you ever need to catalog your receipt purchases and need pictures of your receipts. redeems as amazon gift cards or paypal.
–
I don’t think anybody is getting rich off of coupon apps, but it helps defray the cost of branded groceries and sometimes generic store brand groceries. I buy generic store brand products a lot of the time just because of the hassle factor.
Good summary. Don’t forget Amazon Alexa shopping lists offers (https://www.engadget.com/amazons-latest-alexa-feature-lets-you-scan-shopping-receipts-for-cashback-rewards-124547327.html). 99% of the offers are the same as coupons.com. In the beginning, they gave cash back for offers that coupons.com rejected but I’ve now had some rejected when using another coupon on the item, so it’s a similar gamble to coupons.com. So I don’t take the risk anymore for a great deal unless it’s an item I would buy anyway. But it’s possible to double dip with both of them and occasionally other apps.
For me, I’m considering deleting checkout 51. It took me several years just to get to my first $20. I would go for long periods of time without having any offers I could use. Apparently at 6 months of inactivity, they will start deducting money from your balance, so once it got to that point I purposely redeemed a spaghetti sauce offer which wasn’t that great of a deal just to not lose any money in my account. So if it gets to that point, I should probably just delete the app.
@ctujackbauer If Tada does referrals, feel free to send me one as that’s the only one I didn’t know.

Upside promo codes
Previously, I was able to find enough to get ~$1.25 off per gal, which I’ve done 3 times now and can do one more time (across mine and my SO’s account). But I haven’t been able to find any good codes that work and stack lately. The last one I found that gave me an extra 15 cents off is TDU4W. Anyone have any Upside promo codes they can share?
The previous ones I found that worked and stacked might still work for others:
Amex35
Gopuff35
Shoppers35
Lucky7cashOf course they have referrals too where we’d both get money.

Kroger Fresh Mode app - get rewards for shopping at Kroger
Edit: this is by invitation only. Not sure how you get an invite, but I got a catalina “coupon” with a QR when I checked.
Kroger has a new savings app called Fresh Mode. It seems to work like their gas rewards, where you earn 1 point per dollar spent. They expire at the end of the next month and you can redeem them for rewards like cash back. I got 300 points for signing up and that’s worth $3 back, but the best deal is 300 points is worth $4.50 of Kroger brands, which is a no-brainer as we buy many of their brands. And I was credited for my purchase even though I installed the app and signed up after that trip. The one thing I don’t know is how long the rewards last after you cash them out. So if my March points expire April 30th and I cash out on that day for $4.50 in Kroger products, when will that reward expire? Anyway, yay! More discounts on food in addition to the discounts I already get.

RE: Online Rebate Free Lunch - up to $5 with purchase of Snap’d Cheez-its and Luncheon meat/bread/cheese lim 2, ex 10/31
I submitted a rebate 2 days ago and I got an email last night saying it was approved. Awesome! (I thought). I bought Wonder bread and vegetarian deli slices (the receipt said “Ham”). Both were $2.49 after sales so $4.98 total. Wasn’t sure I’d get approved for the vegetarian ham. I’ve tried multiple browsers and made sure ad blockers were off. Sometimes the site won’t even load. Sometimes I get to the point where I can click “Get it” for a $5 paypal credit, but I can’t actually click the button. What a terrible site!

RE: FREE Can of Serious Bean Co. Beans Coupon - exp unk
So interestingly enough, Kroger sent me a coupon for buy 1 get 2 free Serious beans. I feel like based on the way they handle this coupon, I’ll probably be able to use both coupons, but maybe not.
I did get to try the Buffalo beans and they are pretty good. You have to like Buffalo sauce, which I do. Kroger also just got the Southwest Smokehouse black beans, so looking forward to those in a burrito or burrito bowl. RE: Using Low Value (under $5) Prepaid Rebate Cards
I can pay my Spectrum internet bill. I also found that some online gambling sites will let you deposit with a debit card and then immediately withdraw it to your bank account or Paypal/Venmo. I tried it with Tipico, but the deposit got rejected. But it worked at BetMGM, but you can’t withdraw under $10. And they will occasionally give me free bets and I’ll bet randomly and sometimes win. Like now I have $7.50 from a free $5 bet. So I’m waiting for some beer rebates which will get paid in virtual debit cards (with no option for paypal/venmo) so I can deposit them, then withdraw them and my winnings. Of course online gambling isn’t legal in all states so YMMV.

It says, " Full Terms and Conditions including Participation Mechanism and Qualifying Products at www.KnobCreekSteakRebate.com." but I can’t find them. It does say, “Any steak” but what about the bourbon? Any size bottle?

RE: Amazon offering cashback for your grocery receipts via Alexa
@deerlee said in Amazon offering cashback for your grocery receipts via Alexa:
Minutes later, I got my credit. Just need more offers now
I submitted a receipt from yesterday a couple hours ago and didn’t get credited yet.
What’s crazy is they had 3 free Talenti products in the Fetch app which is the only reason I bought it and a $1 off 3 in the Ibotta app yesterday so I bought 3 jars yesterday. So I paid $12 for 3 jars and got all $12 back with Fetch and made $5 back with Ibotta and Amazon.

@vegasvegan
Guess Vegas is more expensive than Cincinnati. The Walmart 64 oz vegetable juice is $3.12 here, which is $0.04875/oz. My last order was $2.97 so it’s gone up a bit, like everything else.
