@marvomatic Polarized outputs just means the two different slot sizes in each output receptacle, where the longer slot is for the neutral wire, and the shorter slot is for the “hot” (120V) wire.
Almost all modern 120V devices with a two-wire cord have a polarized plug end, by design.
It’s a safety thing, as the “hot” wire is the one that should be switched on/off, and not the neutral wire (which btw, is connected to ground back at the service entrance).
However, both wires in these 2-wire cords conduct current, when on.

Staples: $100 Lowe's Gift Card for $90 (email delivery), limit 3, while it lasts

My love/hate relationship with Lowe’s continues. I wish there was a Menards store nearby, or even a Home Depot store…

Staples Ink Rewards, Historic Times for "Double Ink Rewards"?
Does anybody recall past months that Staples offered “Double Ink Rewards”?
I’m holding onto some (20) ink cartridges that I need to turn in this month. From what I remember, in the past, Staples announced these towards the end of the month.
So now I typically wait near the end of each month before I bring my next batch of 20 into the store… -
RE: Mem. Day Update: Bed Bath & Beyond 'Beyond+' Membership (Valid thru January 2, 2023) (can do it again!)
@hbg1 Same thing for me–I had to look for this deal on the big, mean, deal site and use the link there.
The free shipping bit is the possible attraction for me, although it’s tough to go against Amazon Prime.
Here’s hoping this isn’t the death knell for BB&B, like SYWR points were for Kmart/Sears! -
RE: TMobile Tuesdays 5/17: Free 90 Day Walmart+ Trial, Free Breakfast Sandwich at Wendy's w/beverage purchase, more
@mistercheap Wonder if the free Walmart+ trial is doable if you already did another (previous) free 90 day trial?
Probably not, going by how it works on similar free trials with Amazon (Music, Kindle Unlimited, etc)… -

RE: 2022 MASTER THREAD -NBPR (can now choose PAYPAL for reward) - No Beer Purchase Required Rebates online submission
@briarycliffs Out of curosity, are many here going after these $0.50, $1, $1.50 rebates? I’m guessing they add up, but dang.
It’s kind of moot for me anyway, as I’m in VA, so not that many apply. Same thing for the BPR rebates though. So many $1 and $2 ones! -

@ukedog Guiness rebate period ended. Looking for a good April Fools day beer rebate now.

RE: T-Mobile Customers 03/22/22: Free MLB.TV for 2022 Season, $4 movie ticket to The Lost City, Free Sonic Large Drink or Slush*, $2 Dunkin Card, Factor 50% off per meal for 2 weeks
@ctgolfer Just fired up T-Mobile Tuesdays on my phone (again), and noticed an unread Message: Free MLB.TV is on deck
"Catch all your favorite Baseball action this year with free MLB.TV starting Opening Week. (etc)" Whoo-hoo!Enjoyed it last year too (yes, I fit the old man profile who still loves baseball). A couple of related side notes:
- You can work around any local market blackouts (home games?) by connecting through a VPN using a different location.
- If you like baseball and wicked humor, check out the IFC series “Brockmire”, currently on Hulu. Season 4 is both funny and scary!

RE: Bitdefender Total Security for PC, Mac, Android, & iOS- FREE - Limited time offer, while supplies last.
@ctgolfer Wow, so I guess it’s actually free for 3 months, unless updates means some added functionality?
Even so, that’s a generous free trial offer! I use it and mostly like it, although I have to disable their VPN to avoid interference with another one. -
RE: FREE 1-Month Trial of Paramount+ A/C - (Stream Season 4 of Yellowstone) - exp 01/03/22
@ctgolfer I got a year of the “with-Ads” version through T-Mobile. Watching can be brutal, just like with Hulu.
However, it does allow me to stream the previous night’s “The Late Show” whenever, with about the same ad time.
Now if the old episodes of Chappelle’s Show and Key and Peele would stream properly without freezing or closing, I’d be happy. -
RE: Mix lot of 450 Virgin & Non Virgin Empty Ink Cartridges for Staples/OD Rewards $74 shipped + 10% cashback at IBOTTA
@mistercheap I’m fairly confident that if I bought this many, that would result in the “sunset” of Staples ink rewards program before I used even a third of them. That with no Office Depot stores within any reasonable driving distance.
Now if a couple other like-minded (cheap bstrd) neighbors wanted to split up an order, that would be another story.
Good luck to all those who are stocking up! -
RE: Hulu Black Friday deal: $.99/month For Up To 12 Months (11/23-11/29)
@dangeruss Yeah, it’s the opposite of entertainment, for sure.
Some posts on groups say that for movies, it only plays the ads at the very beginning, and thereafter no interruptions.
Haven’t found any movies yet that I’d risk testing that out on, lol. -
RE: Hulu Black Friday deal: $.99/month For Up To 12 Months (11/23-11/29)
@mrvietnam Ok, I bit on this over the holiday, just to watch “Only Murders in the Building” and “Brockmire”.
Wow, those ad breaks are relentless and painful! Even the audio seems to boost!Fast forwarding through them (logically) is disabled, so I try to multitask using my remote’s mute button to do something else.
I discovered that if I overshoot, while muted, in the resumption of the show, I can rewind back to just before the start of the ads.
Then, resuming play, that block of ads that already played is skipped.
Is there any better workaround apart from paying $$ for the ad-free subscription? -
RE: LUXE Bidet Neo 185 (Elite) Non-Electric Bidet Toilet Attachment, White, $31.28, Amazon
@ukedog Walmart canceled my order for store pickup (Looking to become a two-bidet household). Oh well, back to Amazon.
Before last year, I used to read glowing reviews for these bidets, and think how silly it was to describe it as “life changing”.
I was mistaken. -
LUXE Bidet Neo 185 (Elite) Non-Electric Bidet Toilet Attachment, White, $31.28, Amazon
LUXE Bidet Neo 185 (Elite) Non-Electric Bidet Toilet Attachment
w/ Self-cleaning Dual Nozzle and Easy Water Pressure Adjustment for Sanitary and Feminine Wash (White and White), $31.28Usually north of $40
Be ready for the next toilet paper crisis!
UPDATE: Walmart is selling their own version called the Luxe Bidet W85, which is apparently identical but sold only by Walmart, for only $25.
It differs in that the faceplate has some gray on the white. May even be available for free store pick-up! -
RE: T-Mobile/Spring POST PAID Customers: 1-Year Paramount+ Ad Streaming Membership starting November 9th - exp unk
Good deal, thanks. It’s not like I don’t already have to much to watch, but the free MLB.TV through them has played out for this season, and this fills that hole nicely.
Looking to watch “The Good Fight”, at least. Now if T-Mobile only had a free Hulu promotion, I’d be all set.
Keep getting rec’s on “Only Murders In The Building”, but I’m too cheap to ante up so far! -
RE: T-Mobile/Spring POST PAID Customers: 1-Year Paramount+ Ad Streaming Membership starting November 9th - exp unk
@dangeruss I looked at their Tuesdays app, under “Next Tues”, and there’s no mention of the Paramount+ offer.
Just “$3 Slices-N-Stix”, “Free metal Ornament” from Shutterfly (w $7 shipping, lol), and a few other odd things.
But if it’s like the last free 1 year AppleTV+ promotion, you’ll definitely need a T-Mobile logon. -
RE: T-Mobile/Spring POST PAID Customers: 1-Year Paramount+ Ad Streaming Membership starting November 9th - exp unk
Thanks ctgolfer, I spaced out the “starting November 9th” bit, so that first link errors out, at least for now.
But the link at the bottom works to describe the deal starting on the 9th (Tuesday). -

RE: Python: 3 Manuscripts in 1 book: - Python Programming For Beginners - Python Programming For Intermediates - Python Programming for Advanced Kindle Edition - FREE
Interesting, for sure. Lots of unkind reviews on this though.
I was also struck by how many other free Python programming books (in Kindle format) there are on Amazon!I’m no programmer, but years ago I worked with a developer that automated the web interface into a support library/technical docs I worked on.
He used Python scripts, and I occasionally “messed around” with some. A smart dude too, who could/did program in a variety of other languages. -

Free < > Milwaukee Tool offers?
A recent gaggle of freebies (saw blade, drill bit, knee pads) from the Milwaukee Tool company, requiring only your patience in successfully submitting your email address and shipping address in their freebie “Address Validation” page.
Hmm, a bit odd to me coming from a company that sells the most expensive power and hand tools around, and likely at the highest profit margin too.
Also, thanks to a huge marketing department, a company that owns more (often ridiculous) trademarks as well.
Oh well, I guess its time to PACKOUT™

RE: Staples ink recycling $30 spend requirement - are ink rewards eligible?
@c3 Ok, today (8/12) is the second Thursday of August. Just tried checking my Staples Rewards summary and I get this:
"We are unable to load your rewards summary for this period. Please refresh the page and try again."
Anybody else? I recycled 20 cartridges in July. I know Staples was late on this rewards biz last month… -
RE: Lowe's Smart Garden 4.5-cu ft Poly Yard Cart, Clearance $10.96 (from $40.98) YMMV
@my4mainecoons Yeah this should definitely be expired, especially the LowesForPros bit/url (they shut that down months ago).
If you still had a hankering for one of these carts for $50, you can find them online at Ace Hardware.
And yes, I bought a couple. Btw they do stack, at least as high as their 10" wheels would permit. Such that each one adds about 11" or so height.
However, the recesses in the cart bottom that enable this, i.e. to allow the rear “legs” to nest, also makes this cart unsuitable for things like cement mixing. That’s why these are only my “second favorite” plastic garden cart, lol.
My favorite is the Ames 4cu ft Poly Garden Cart that Home Depot used to sell for $20 each spring. -

RE: Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs Wednesday, July 21st National Hot Dog Day 5¢ Hot Dogs from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
@dangeruss No, because we switched over to Costco (noting that their polish dog and soda combo isn’t as good).
That, along with I’m trying to eat healthier…sigh. The only other thing I liked about Sam’s Club was better pricing on car tires and batteries. -
RE: Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs Wednesday, July 21st National Hot Dog Day 5¢ Hot Dogs from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
@ctgolfer mmm, Nathan’s hot dogs!
That’s one of the few things I miss about Sam’s Club, their $1.50 big Nathans hot dog and soda combo. -
RE: Staples in-store pandemic-themed Apache Mills door mats clearance, $1.46, YMMV
@my4mainecoons It’s 7.5 lbs, not ounces. It’s closer to a solid rubber mat (no “nap”) than it is to a carpet.
It does have an impressive warranty though. -
RE: Staples in-store pandemic-themed Apache Mills door mats clearance, $1.46, YMMV
@my4mainecoons said in Staples in-store pandemic-themed Apache Mills door mats clearance, $1.46, YMMV:
What’s the quality of the mat?
Well, it’s pretty heavy/thick and not likely to move around. But it’s sorta smooth and probably not the best for removing dirt.
Did I mention it was $1.46? -
Staples in-store pandemic-themed Apache Mills door mats clearance, $1.46, YMMV
A big YMMV but some stores are clearing these out for as low as $1.46, down from $37.00.
I watched them get reduced to $5 something first, then finally to $1.46…
There were also “Wash Your Hands” and “Wear A Mask” editions, but I lost out on those, LOL.
Brickseek on the above mat (note they all show up priced full retail online). -
Cheap Parkside brand tools at Lidl (grocery) stores, YMMV
Maybe the biggest YMMV is living close to a Lidl store, a German-owned company opening stores in the eastern U.S.
Bigger stores than Aldi, almost supermarket size, but like Aldi sells non-grocery items at discount prices in the center section (note: with constantly changing stock). My first time in one, and I’ll be back for groceries and more.Any how, among those center aisle items were an assortment of “Parkside” brand tools, including items such a $40 electric pressure washer and a $20 belt sander.
I searched and found some youtube reviews of the belt sander, a model PBSD600A1, that were pretty favorable.
Can’t find a Lidl product link to it, but did find a link to on the U.K. Amazon site: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B084Z1YHPW
Anyway, $20 for a new belt sander is pretty amazing. Not sure about Lidl’s return policy though, in case it’s total crap, e.g. can’t track well, etc. Finally, I’d post this on the big, mean dealsite, but way too many Milwaukee and Dewalt fanboys over there.
Totally “serious professionals” that insist only on certain colors of Chinese made tools with the correct logos on them. -
RE: Staples ink recycling $30 spend requirement - are ink rewards eligible?
@c3 Thanks for the screenshot. As a Plus member, I only see/saw “Welcome, [my name]” at that spot at the top.
Not only that, but here on the 15th, I’m not seeing any Ink Rewards, despite recycling 20 cartridges in June (see below).
Now I’m wondering if my “ink or toner spend in last 180 days”, which shows as $30.48, doesn’t qualify for some reason?
No doubt I used some coupon to hit that, but would they show you some pre-coupon amount on this page, of all pages?
Guess I need to check later today, and if the same thing call Staples support for more info…

@ctgolfer Approaching the cost of doing laundry (figuring in water, detergent, energy). Why do I find that depressing?
