@c3 Not to belabor this (although I guess I am), I’m not seeing this ink rewards info on my rewards page, logged in as a “Plus” member.
That is, https://www.staples.com/grs/rewards/sr/rewardscenter any tab selected, including “Ink & toner recycling”.
So I’m wondering now if only “Premium” members get the skinny on exactly when the ink rewards ship comes in?

@scooter0754 Although today (7/8/2021) is the second Thursday of the month, I did not get ink rewards today.
In a chat session, I was told it would be next week, 7/15 before they were awarded. YMMV…? -

RE: The escalating price of empty used ink cartridges on eBay (to recycle at Staples for Rewards $)!
@orthros True, $30 bucks worth from Staples every 6 months (and rewards $ don’t help). Not a show stopper for me. They even have 30% back in rewards offers for ink purchases, which makes that semi-annual sting a little less painful.
Btw I don’t even resell the Staples-purchased cartridges on eBay, like some of the deal gurus here.
I use them in my Brother inkjet for photo printing and 11x17 drawing plots. But the $40 monthly payout in rewards, occasionally even $80, I’ve found worthwhile. Even factoring in the annual Plus membership fee.

The escalating price of empty used ink cartridges on eBay (to recycle at Staples for Rewards $)!
Dang, I never thought I’d use up the last of the 300 cartridges I bought in 12/19 for $28 shippped, but here I am.
(I did quickly overcome the shyness of marching into the store, monthly, with a zip-loc bag jammed with 20 dirty beat-up cartridges, asking to “recycle” them.) Lately the cashiers don’t even bother to count, knowing the magic number is 20.Now on eBay, it seems that cartridge lots like that have doubled or more.
I do see some semi-reasonable (per-cartridge) deals on huge lots, i.e. 450, 900, etc, but I suspect any investment that way would result in Staples suddenly changing the ink rewards game rules.Any leads out there on a low-cost way to keep playing this game?

Staples ink rewards eligibility vs. payout date question
So I’m a Staples Plus member until mid July, and have been doing the 20 cartridges/$40 rewards ink recycle thing, monthly, for a little over 5 months now ($80 rewards back next month–whoo hoo!)), but my 180 days of ink recycle eligibility runs out later this month.
My question is, if I recycle 20 cartridges now (early this month), will I still get the $40 in rewards next month (second Thursday in June)…
IF I haven’t yet bought that $30 worth of ink cartridges to rest that 180 day eligibility timer?TIA!

Sadly, they don’t mention it working on a 15-can pack of Vienna Lager, often priced less than the 12-pack…
Whoo Hoo! I found out that another one, Offer # AB-3586 actually does cover the 15-packs, also for $6. (just by dicking around in the URL a little, lol.) Looks to be almost the same about states, dates, terms, etc. -

Staples in-store clearance: 4 piece Lockermate Electric Rainbow Magnetic Locker Kit, $1.46, YMMV
Went into Staples to UPS an Amazon return and briefly checked out the clearance area.
They was lots of stuff, probably better deals that this, but they had loads of these for $1.46 (link to Amazon for reference only, can’t find it on Staples website). I’ll use the mirror at gym lockers, the pencil cup on a tool cabinet, and the two hearts to post granddaughters’ artwork on the fridge…
They also had 2-packs of no-name 16GB USB 3.0 thumb-drives on clearance for $5.46.
Not big enough for some, but I find these ideal for music, photos, etc. -

Walmart online: Stalwart 130-Piece Household Hand Tool Set, $8.95, free ship on $35+ orders
Stalwart 130-Piece Household Hand Tool Set, $8.95 (from $39.99), online
Saw this on the other big, mean, deal site. I have an identical one I got years ago on clearance at Radio Shack. Great for what it is! Although I’m generally not a fan of tools in blow-molded cases, this one is pretty well designed. Handy to keep around when you’re far away from your main stash of hand tools.
It might even be available for free store pickup in some locations, but not for me… -

Is anyone else not seeing this Offer mention after logging in? I don’t live in an excluded state, have my pop-up blockers disabled, and have looked all around expecting to see it. I do see that “Reunited Rules” page with all the fine print.
It’s more like they want to sell me something vs. give me free money!

RE: Staples extends free Covid vaccination card lamination til May 1 (good idea or maybe not)
At a regional Covid vaccination center, they are now explicitly advising not to laminate your original vaccination card. It looks like Staples will need to play catch up with Office Depot on this.

RE: BLACK+DECKER POWERSERIES Extreme Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner $99 + FS @ Walmart - exp unk
@dangeruss Alas, I forgot about trying that route. I looked up my card’s terms, and sure enough it looked to be doable. That is after submitting all the paperwork for the claim, getting approval, and having it “repaired or replaced at the Benefit Adminstrator’s discretion”. Likely all resolved within a week, lol.
So have you had good luck filing similar warranty claims? At least I bought it for $58, and not the ridiculous $80 it’s going for now. Fortunately I came across a clearance Shark hand vac for ~$20 around tha time, and it’s been great ever since. No gradual fading of run duration over time, unlike with B&D Dustbusters.
-
RE: BLACK+DECKER POWERSERIES Extreme Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner $99 + FS @ Walmart - exp unk
As a big fan of the B&D 20V Max powered line of various tools (yard tools, woodworking tools, etc) that use the same battery system, it might even be worth this much. Amazon is selling it for $169 at the moment, although I filled out their little form alerting to this lower price.
On the other hand, I’m still steamed about a B&D Pivot 20Vmax Dustbuster with an internal battery that petered out exactly 25 months of light use (one month out of warranty).
Even though it was engineered to use a battery pack with two fast-on terminals, which is easily accessible after unscrewing three fasteners, B&D doesn’t sell a replacement battery. So the whole vacuum is destined for the landfill.

RE: Current BPR (beer purchase required) online rebates
@niniss If you’re asking about Yuengling, it’s often on sale at Kroger for $15.99 or $16.99 for a 24-pack. Both the regular and light versions.
It’s been a favorite of mine for years. Tastes like a more expensive craft beer, comparable to Devil’s Backbone Vienna Lager.
Factoring in this rebate, a 24-pack of it costs about the same as a 12-pack of the more trendy ones.
Note it’s hard to find west of the Mississippi. The reverse of how it was years ago trying to find Coors on the East Coast. -
RE: Current BPR (beer purchase required) online rebates
Yuengling $4 (24-pack) or $2 rebate (12-pack) paid by PayPal or Venmo, mobile device access only
https://saveonyuengling.com/#/age_gate
Offer valid in CT, DC, DE, FL, GA, KY, MA, MD, MS, NJ, OH, PA, RI, SC, TN & VA (whoo-hoo)
Submitted photo of receipt must be dated between 01/01/2021 and 12/31/2021, with all requests received by 12/31/2021Beauty Part: Maximum of 30 unique receipt submissions per person during the lifetime of the offer!

RE: Staples Double Ink Recycle Rewards when you buy ink/toner & Recycle on SAME TRANSACTION In Store - Starts April 4
@mistercheap Ok, after reading the offer details I’m a tad puzzled by the sentence mentioning a “minimum spend requirement”.
Does this offer have some minimum spend level for buying ink/toner on the same transaction as when you recycle ink cartridges?
I’m asking because with 2 days left on this offer, I’m eyeing a $14 Brother ink cartridge in-stock at my store, plus I have a $5-off-$10 coupon code for in-store that Staples texted me. As a Plus member, I’ll be bringing in 20 used ink cartridges to recycle. I suspect I’ll have to insist it all happens on the same receipt.
I won’t use the coupon code 68192 for the 30% back-in-Rewards on ink (last day today, 4/09), because it says it may not be valid in combination with any other offer. Wouldn’t want to jinx the double ink rewards offer for that small amount…
-
RE: Staples extends free Covid vaccination card lamination til May 1 (good idea or maybe not)
@dangeruss Good call on laminating a copy of your vaccination card. Staples texted me a $5-off-$10 purchase code for in-store, good until 4/11. So maybe I’ll see if I get the “originals only” argument as well. Btw, lol at the bit about the guy returning Norton.

RE: Amazon Prime Apple Barrel Acrylic Paint Flag Red 2 Oz .50 Cents Exp Unk
@marvomatic I got my the first of my two “princess” colors, Bimini Blue, a couple days ago, with the Candy Pink not scheduled to arrive until April 27!
However, I investigated other places to find these little craft paints, and 50 cents looks to be the normal price for just about any color to order online at Walmart for store pickup. They also show sets of 12 for under $5. -

@marvomatic Interesting post! Wow, so many other colors, some up to $15! This is all likely dynamically YMMV, but I spotted a few others for $0.50 as well, namely Bimini Blue, Black, Candy Pink, Nutmeg Brown, Pewter Grey.

RE: Sears and Kmart store closings continue. Is your location closing in 2021? See the list.
@ctujackbauer At this point I’d be curious to see a list of Sears and Kmart stores that are still operating and have NOT announced a closing date. It certainly was a “deal ride” during their SYWR points era, especially during the free shipping phase, points “rolling” offers, and so on. Hard to believe that business model didn’t pan out, lol.
Our local Kmart store has been shuttered/vacant about 3 years now, and currently has a big tent set up in the parking lot that serves as an area Covid-19 vaccine center. Part of the New Normal I guess.
