RE: I just learned something about shopping on Amazonposted in Deal Discussion
I was interested in the same model, after deciding the Echelon Rower is likely not as durable (only 1 yr warrranty), plus their high app subscription cost. Plus I’ve used these at the YMCA and it’s a good workout. So I looked on Amazon, and currently through them it’s only from Amazon Marketplace sellers, with $1510 the lowest price to get one in October. Then I went to the Concept 2 site, and behold it shows up as $900; however, they have a waiting list you sign up for…7-8 weeks is their estimate. Plus $45 UPS ground. None on craigslist near me either. So I filled out their waiting list form (probably a mistake).

RE: Select eBay Accounts: Coupon for Additional Savings $25 Off $25.01 while it lastsposted in Expired Deals
@mistercheap Wow! I didn’t see anything related in My eBay messages, so I thought it wouldn’t apply for me.
However (and it’s not like I need these), I found it worked on $33 mixed lot of 250 ink cartridges for Staples rewards!Mix lot of 250 Virgin & Non Virgin Empty Ink Cartridges for Staples Rewards
Which would bring it under $10 bucks after taxes w/ free shipping…UPDATE: I still have plenty of used ink cartridges left, so I ended up using the $25 coupon on a set of $40 toner cartridges for a Canon color laser printer–sweet!
Brought that down to $16.27 w/ tax. Hey, that’s cheaper than buying “used” from the Amazon Warehouse! -
RE: ACTIVATE NOW! purchase through TopCashback between August 17, 2020 and August 21, 2020 23:59 PT and get a $3 bonus when you spend $10 or moreposted in Expired Deals
@mistercheap In the past, I’ve had mixed results on these TCB offers after activating. Orders from Staples didn’t register at all (and I used CC, not rewards). And with another purchase from Walmart, the bonus payout got “Declined”. Fwiw, it worked on eBay orders.

RE: Double Ink Recycling at Staples B&M starts 8/9 ENDS 9/19!!posted in Expired Deals
This double ink recycling thing is great. But I don’t understand how Staples keeps afloat, between this and selling $0.25 items with free shipping and no minimum. It seems similar to the Sears/Kmart SYWR program “business model”, if you can call it that. And we saw how that turned out…

RE: Staples.com Online Savings Codes. See last posts for most current codes.posted in Hot Deals
@my4mainecoons Please forgive my laziness, and perhaps this belongs elsewhere, but I recently got a Staples email saying my Plus membership will renew in 30 days.
I suspect it must have been on sale at “half price” (~$25) in July 2019. So I’m trying to figure out some stuff…- Can I buy a Plus membership using Staples Rewards?
- If I let it expire somehow (not sure how to unlink my CC), what are the odds are another half-price Plus membership sale will happen soon?
TIA for any help with this.

RE: Staples.com Online Dollar Off Codes + FS: $15 off $60+ AC, Exp 06-08-2020, Paper Reams $3.50 ea w/emailed code free dlv, limit 3posted in Expired Deals
@dionaea Consider searching the Amazon Warehouse for a generic drum to use in your Brother laser, vs. buying one from Staples.
I may be lucky, but I’ve had great success ordering “used” generic drums for Brother printers (condition “Very good” or “Like new”) that way, and at a small fraction of the price of a genuine Brother drum.
Usually it’s just a packaging issue, e.g. wrinkle on box, with the drum still sealed in a plastic bag. Same deal with generic Brother toner cartridges. To top it off, if you have Prime there’s no shipping fee. YMMV of course. -

RE: Free After Rebate Stella Artois Beer 6-Pack, 12-Pack, 24-Pack - 32 Select States Onlyposted in Expired Deals
@briarycliffs Thanks Cliffs for posting all the offers. Of course us folk in VA don’t get free beer (intoxicating words), only half off.
Still, it makes this brew cost close to my normal swill, and that $7 rebate card is handy to pay for shipping on otherwise free orders from Sears/Kmart.
Those AB rebates are super quick and dependable! Only now I need to worry about the payout limit… -

Now if only there was anything worth buying at Staples with their exorbitant prices.
They do PM to amazon. At least in store and kiosk orders.
I can confirm this, at least for in-store price matching. They do require price-matched items to be “sold by Amazon”, i.e. not any marketplace seller.

Prime members: Amazon Day Delivery shipping replacing Amazon No-Rush shipping?posted in Deal Discussion
Any other Amazon Prime member seeing the Amazon free no-rush shipping option (with $1 digital credit) no longer available when buying low-cost items, i.e. anything over $1?
Recently I’m only seeing two shipping options: regular Amazon FREE Prime delivery, or else FREE Amazon Day Delivery (with no digital credit).
I’m not sure, but I think I opted once for Amazon Day Delivery, which at the time (I think) offered a $1 digital credit.
Really regretting that move now! -

RE: SYWR Points Back with Purchase Offers Threadposted in Hot Deals
@briarycliffs What I’ve discovered (at least for me) is that when you pay using SYWR points along with PayPal, you can’t just pay for shipping alone with PayPal.
During checkout, you first see your estimated total, including the sales tax and shipping cost. Then you apply your points, knocking the cost down to no lower than the shipping cost–or possibly a bit more if your points don’t cover the item(s) plus tax.
Unless your “after points applied” total isn’t at least HALF the original estimated total, when you select to CHANGE payment type (from a credit card), the PayPal option will no longer be there. You have to use a credit card. I’m a tad reluctant to do that, at least with any bank card I own!
However, I’ve found that you can use one of those Visa or Mastercard rewards cards, like the ones issued for all those AB beer rebates, to pay for shipping only. And any little bit remaining on that card you can roll into your Amazon gift card account.
Quite a far stretch from the SYWR glory days of yore!
