@mistercheap My email thanked me for being a Bucks member, and said my future earnings rewards would be increased to 5%!
(Just kidding with some clickbait. I got the same 0% thank you with the Mastercard offer.)

Promotion from Kroger Gift Cards, for those that save a little extra this way using Cricket or AT&T prepaid
https://giftcards.kroger.com/promotions
Some other 5% off gift card discounts in there too, e.g. Kohls, Dominos, etc…
Plus possible extra Kroger “fuel points”, if you have the appropriate coupon loaded.
@briarycliffs Yeah that makes sense, thanks. I thought of that too, right after I clicked send.
Last day for this coupon at Kroger, and wondering if anyone has used this coupon…?
It doesn’t say “Save $1.99” like most $-off coupons of theirs, just "$1.99 Must Buy 3"
Magical thinking on my part, likely…
@my4mainecoons Cool. May I suggest you start thinking “I wonder when Staples will do double ink rewards again?”
@briarycliffs Same here.
I also got an email of a payment notification of $6,500,000 from Mr. Antonio Guterres. So between the two of these, I should be all set!
Coastwide Professional Cleaning Brushes, 6 types
For professional use only, lol. Anyway, these are reasonably priced enough, especially if you’re looking for ways to spend Rewards points.
Somebody posted the 9" Grout Brush for $1.49, on SD, so it may go out of stock soon.
I’ve gotten a few of those and they’re ok for heavy duty cleaning. But I think the best deal is for the $2.99 13" bench brush, which is really handy for things like sweeping sawdust off workbenches, etc.
@dangeruss I hope that red votes are used sparingly. Otherwise, this site risks becoming like SD, where there’s way too much negativity.
Even worse, dominated by those unable to grasp “YMMV”, or “fanboys” who down-vote any deal for items that aren’t some revered brand.
@kkcc Yeah I see that 0W-20 one too, but note the 1-star review about Pep Boys not honoring the rebate.
That rebate form is about as involved as any I’ve seen, and says you need to buy it in the store. Not sure if you buy online for in-store pickup qualifies you…?
@c3 It looks like this particular oil is targeted for trucks and SUVs (for whatever reason).
Which is just a marketing thing imo–you’d be fine using this oil in any car if the 5W-30 bit was acceptable.
@fmb1 Ok thanks, and that sure is a teeny eyeball Now if that just removed all the corresponding topic lines from the listings…
@ukedog Heads up on the latest scorching Lowe’s “Deal Of The Day”, better act fast on this one!
FOTILE 3-N-1 In-Sink Dishwasher for only $1, 124 (from $1,499)
So today only, here’s your opportunity to save $375! (btw you need 240V for this)
And there’s no reviews on it–likely because nobody has ever bought one?
Just curious if anyone else noticed these offers becoming rarer, if at all, when checking out as a Prime member, when buying items eligible for Prime shipping?
Until a couple weeks ago, I could usually force the option if I had two or three items in the cart, with at least $5 total.
Often for a $1 digital credit, but sometimes even for a $3 digital credit!
Not any more, just a “non-rewarded” option to combine them on an “Amazon Prime” day…
@my4mainecoons So whatcha gonna do with all them carts, MaineCoons? (inquiring minds, etc) I’m thinking if you left them in your car, you might slip through some HOV lanes…
@ukedog Out of stock I see. Worth checking several times a day if you’re truly interested though.
Usually out of stock, and available only from third-party sellers at hundreds $ more
Concept2 Model D Indoor Rowing Machine with PM5 Performance Monitor
$945 with free Prime shipping, expensive yes, but worth every penny!
@my4mainecoons I’ve used my Ames garden cart on all kinds of projects, not just gardening, but hauling heavy loads of broken up concrete (> 200lbs), as well as mixing concrete up too. Perfect for that, unlike these carts with their bottom recesses. I also have a conventional 6cu ft steel one-wheel wheelbarrow, but favor the Ames almost always. Not sure how I’ll use these new carts yet, lol.
@my4mainecoons I just went and measured the two I have sitting in my garage. The overall dimensions for one is about 39"L x 23"W x 26"H. But note they’ve been designed to “stack”, with indents in the bottom for wheels, such that if you put another one inside, it adds only 10" to the total height (now 36") and the other dimensions hold.
So I guess you could stack quite a few up in a single space if you had some special application in mind. I remember that some folks were buying up lots of the Ames 4ft poly carts when Home Depot had the springtime sale on them for $20, simply to catch rainwater for gardening purposes. These would likely be great for that as well. I wish I’d bought more than the single one of the (non-stacking) Ames carts, which has been great for all kinds of tasks, despite living outside for 5 years…
@ukedog Btw, this made me recall an old “The Onion” article from 2004, a case where satire came true…and then some!
Link to the article (warning, R-rated language)
Dollar Shave Club 4-Blade Razor Bundle for All-Terrain Shaving, 1 Handle, 4 Cartridges $2.47 (from $9.88)
Brickseek link: https://brickseek.com/walmart-inventory-checker/?sku=210232800
In my store, there was a whole endcap near the normal shaving supplies section that was loaded down with them, along with another 6-blade bundle variant that had a 3oz. “shaving butter” included, for $3.72. No prices posted anywhere!
4 blades is plenty enough for me!
NOTE: Brickseek prices were accurate (and lower) that what the walmart online price showed…!
On clearance at some Lowe’s stores, cannot order online going to “regular” website, ie. lowes.com
HOWEVER, (and quite notably), if you go to lowesforpros.com you can order clearance items online for store pickup.
In this particular case, the link for this Item # 484313 Model # SLC450 (for us “pros”, lol) is:
Smart Garden 4.5-cu ft Poly Yard Cart
@midori said in American Metalcraft TP6 TP Series 18-Gauge Aluminum Standard Weight Wide Rim Pizza Pan - various sizes from $1.29 + FS w/Prime @ Amazon:
Welp, I’ve just spent the last 20 minutes watching videos about making armor out of aluminum. Now I’m forcefully telling myself I don’t need to rivet straps on the back of some of these and give them to my toddlers.
@ukedog My hobby continues as I update the latest outstanding value from Lowe’s “Deal Of The Day”.
Today, and today only, you can save a whopping $15 on a Stainless Steel Electric Wine Bottle Opener, for only $44.99
Finally, the drudgery of manually opening your wines is a thing of the past!

Basic Hard Seltzer
Made me look–of course it’s nada for me in VA. Then again, it’s only seltzer (hard or whatever).
What is it with these breweries pushing seltzer?
Reminiscent of “clear beer” from the 90’s?
@mistercheap This is one of several Kroger gift card promotions. Similar ones for Sephora, DSW, Subway, and Panera, plus some others.
https://giftcards.kroger.com/promotions Note they change daily, but you can use that link to see.
@mistercheap Interesting. Can you provide a link to this offer, I’m guessing which would be somewhere at cvs.com ?
Clutch Clamp Set (4-Piece) by BESSEY
These are nice quality clamps. Another possible candidate for the TCB $2.50 back on $10 purchase, if you haven’t already done that…
EDITED: The free shipping part evaporated already; but if you’re near a Home Depot store and need clamps, its an ok deal.
mmm, corndogs! But are they gluten free?
@my4mainecoons There goes your color-coded avatar scheme!
@ukedog Now that I’ve reflected on this a little, I think I’ve been a little harsh. I think it’s fine that somebody (anybody) wants to post a number of deals here.
I just think it could be done differently, in a way that would ultimately benefit everyone.
For example, let’s say you know about a number of deals at one store/site.
Instead of posting each deal individually, how about a single deal post that names the store/site name with a brief list of the deal items?
And inside the body of that deal post could go all the deals, links, and as necessary individual details.
Same approach for a bunch of deals from different store/sites but on a set of related items.
Benefits from this approach would be that such deal posts would likely get more upvotes, and perhaps more “replies” naming which deal item or items inside were of interest, and why.
I’ve liked phatwalletforums since its debut, but recently its usefulness has diminished because of big rafts of deals, often questionable at that, posted by the same user(s).
Not naming names here, but that won’t require much investigation!
The upshot is that diversity of deals suffer, and more desirable deal entries are pushed out of view.
If you try a workaround to sort by “most votes” (vs. newest), you end up seeing mostly deals that have long since expired, some as old 3 years.
I’m not sure what the fix is, whether limiting the number of deal posts possible per user per day, or providing a mechanism where you could prevent seeing any deal entries by a particular user, or what.
Just sayin’
@ukedog Expired (the free shipping and coupons bits)
One of the best places for any sort of cabinet or other hardware, with great prices as well.
(think Restoration Hardware at 90% off, lol)
D. Lawless Hardware
Today (only) they’re giving free shipping on all orders, plus 10% off site-wide with coupon code CYBER10
Free shipping normally requires a $50 order–which I’ve done before.
Stuff I got was great, especially hard-to-find screws, magnetic catches, brackets, hooks, hinges, and whatnot. All the knobs and pulls in the universe.
Definitely an old-school website that can take some time to explore (TIP: on items or sub-menus, right-click and open in new window or tab)
An interesting article about the company itself is here: https://www.infarrantlycreative.net/d-lawless-hardware/
Thanks, I’m liking the one for the Tractor Supply Company. They have good prices on tools, clothes, garden supplies, and even some toys. Plus their after-Christmas clearance deals have been great the last few years (especially in-store)!
@my4mainecoons About that double ink recycling (from last year), was it you could recycle up to 40 vs 20 ink cartridges?
Or was it that they paid double ($4) per cartridge? If they do it again this year, I’m hoping for the first one…
Thanks frugalpete, this is about as cheap as I could find it. I like that it’s month-to-month, and you can call to cancel anytime.
You just have to be vigilant early next November and cancel, otherwise you get clobbered with a $38.99 charge!
@my4mainecoons said in Staples.com Online Savings Codes. See last posts for most current codes.:
No coupon code needed:
$29.99 for Hammermill® Copy Plus® paper, 10-ream case.
Available online only.
Online only. Ends 10/27/20.
About the same price-per-sheet for an 8-ream case of Staples brand paper now (you may need to be Plus member, dunno)
Staples Multiuse Copy Paper, 8.5" x 11", 20 lbs., Bright White, 500 Sheets/Ream, 8 Reams/Carton
@ukedog NM, found it after restoring. Looks to be targeted, with a 16-digit coupon code. Expires 11/07/20.
Email subject line is “Plus members only: 40% back.” Thought it was about ink/toner at first…
@mistercheap Any other Plus member remember seeing a 40%-back-in-rewards on paper goods email offer this week? My email got deleted, but I remember following the link and the products shown were mostly paper towels and facial tissue (not printer paper, plates, etc). TIA
@mrsguin I’m happy with some Hyper Tough 20V Li-Ion battery tools I’ve gotten for cheap in-store at Walmart, mostly clearance deals, but I’d recommend steering clear of any brand of Ni-Cad powered tool. Batteries just don’t last.
@ctgolfer Lol. Price is right, but some reviews I found made that picture sound like a lie, i.e. the copter barely moves.
For novelty alarm clocks made for heavy sleepers, a popular one seems to be “Clocky”…also annoying in a funny way.
@my4mainecoons We’ll see if there’s a surge in my email spam. And if it’s still $945 shipped (plus tax) when it finally is available…
I was interested in the same model, after deciding the Echelon Rower is likely not as durable (only 1 yr warrranty), plus their high app subscription cost. Plus I’ve used these at the YMCA and it’s a good workout. So I looked on Amazon, and currently through them it’s only from Amazon Marketplace sellers, with $1510 the lowest price to get one in October. Then I went to the Concept 2 site, and behold it shows up as $900; however, they have a waiting list you sign up for…7-8 weeks is their estimate. Plus $45 UPS ground. None on craigslist near me either. So I filled out their waiting list form (probably a mistake).
https://www.paypal.com/us/gifts/brands/homedepotsale
(deja vu all over again, except the limit 1 part)
These typically sell out fast, so I have to remember to mark it expired soon…
