The T&Cs specifically exclude using the credit to buy an Amazon gift card, but I see no mention of buying a third party gift card. This is really a good deal. It is like getting to spend $10 on something twice.

I know, but I copied and pasted for the lazy.

I have been browsing through the various categories of eligible items and most of them look overpriced and something you wouldn’t need or want.

  • Bought these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073X1K1R6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 for $10.99 and already claim the $10.00 credit in my account

    Do I have this right?
Spend $10 on something from a small business, I like the penguin’s adapters.
Pay $10.99. Receive $10 credit that can only be used on October 14.
On October 14 buy another something for $10, e.g. penguin adapters.
Net $11.98 for 2 orders of adapters?

OR buy something more than $10 that you would not otherwise be purchasing.
    $50 widget - $10 credit. Net $50.99 for widget & adapters?

not TC, just trying to figure this out. If one is purchasing something that one would not ordinarily purchase are you just getting e.g. adapters for 99¢?

  • 500 Club

If I buy a qualifying product I just have to spend the $10 credit on Prime Day, right?
    So could I spend the $10 on e.g. a $10 gift card?
The T&C say that you can’t use it on Amazon gc but could I e.g. use it on a gas gc?

Quite possibly as the T&Cs make no mention of third party gift cards being excluded, but you won’t know for sure if it works until you try it on Prime Day.

  • 500 Club

    I was thinking of a supermarket g.c.
Get a $25 supermarket gc, less $10 credit. Use Discover for the $15 balance and 5% back on the $15.

    Actually aren’t they penguin110’s adapters?

  • 500 Club

Ooops my bad. Thanks. I see a penguin and I think Mrs. Guin. Edited my post.

So I guess I’ll sign up for a Prime trial.
Buy these and use the $10 credit on a $25 supermarket g.c.
Pay for both with Discover card for 5% back.
Effectively 5% back on groceries which is better than the 3% that I usually earn.

I can use the adaptors and even without the $10 credit will probably purchase something on Prime Day. I simply view it as getting the adaptors for 99 cents.

@my4mainecoons Keep in mind, their rules say “Purchase $10 of select small business products…”

Also, I didn’t edit ANY posts!

  • 500 Club

@mrsguin the labels I linked were a select item.
You didn’t edit anything! I saw the penguin avatar and thought you found the adapters. Mr.V pointed out that I’d credited the wrong penguin. 🐧

If you’re referring to the Staples thread, I know which mod edited my OP.

  • 500 Club

@penguin110 Thanks. I don’t buy much from Amazon and I don’t need anything. But now having realized I could get a 3rd party g.c. its not spending just to do a deal.

    I changed to a different penguin.😀

I bought something from a small business on Amazon and seconds later got this e-mail:
(so between this and the Whole Foods offer I will get $20 for free come Prime Days)

    Congratulations!
You’ve claimed your $10 credit and can spend it on Prime Day.

Thanks for shopping from a small business on Amazon.com. A $10 credit will be automatically applied to your next eligible order on Prime Day (Oct 13 and 14). This credit expires at 11:59PM on October 14. You must have an active Prime membership in order to redeem this offer. Restrictions apply. See Terms and Conditions for full details.

  • I am confirming success for this as well. In my case, it was doubly good. I bought a product through one of those Facebook posts where you go through a chat bot via Messenger and agree to buy a product and then post a review and in return get your purchase amount back via Paypal or a gift card. So in the end, I got an item for free plus the $10 Prime Day bonus.
