IMPORTANT REMINDER:
These ‘bonus’ cards may or may not be a hot deal. Bonus cards typically have short use dates, are NOT GIFT CARDS and not subject to gift card laws. Many places also consider them ‘coupons’ and their fine print often say ‘not valid with any other coupons or offers’ which may include specials.
Therefore, if you can get a $10 off $50 coupon for said restaurant in fliers, mailers, etc, you can’t use that with your ‘$10 Bonus card’ meaning you’ve gained NOTHING by laying out $50 for agift card.
Choose your offers wisely.

@mtnagel honestly I don’t know where the grocery/retail store offers go to but I added it to this list. There used to be quite a few bonus offer packages at the grocery but didn’t see any last year.

I’m sitting on a $30 in Rock Bottom gift card I got a deal on. Thankfully they still exist, but they closed their location in Cincinnati and aren’t located in a city I will be in anytime soon. Hopefully I can use it at some point. I’m actually on a mission to use up old gift cards. Not that I’m worried they will all go out of business, but I did hear that some lose value. Doesn’t seem like that’s happened, but some of these are easily 5+ years old so I figured I’d should just use them.

If it has been five years since the gift card was activated, then yes it can lose value or expire. Some states have non-expiration laws, but not all of them. And if there was a fee structure or policy given with the card, then it goes by the fee structure.

All of that sort of criteria must be disclosed. Most gift cards I have seen specifically state that they do not expire nor incur fees.
