It will take 2-3 bill cycles for your rebate to arrive. If you cancel before the rebate is approved, your rebate can (and likely will) be invalid.

When I did one of their rebates in the late-summer it took almost the full 8 weeks for it to arrive (6+ weeks to get the approval confirmation and another week or so for the prepaid MasterCard to arrive).

If you are going to do this, pay off the phones AFTER you get the approval email (since the rebate is conditioned on EIP) and also put in a request to have them both unlocked. If they ask why, tell them you are going on an international trip and need to be able to use a local SIM for low cost, high speed service. Phones must be used on their service for something like 45 days to be eligible for unlock.

We have Tello on 2 phones, ever since Ring+ died. It works well for us

The unlimited text, and 500mb data and 200 minutes is $11 in the new price plan

It is a better choice for us to get one phone with unlimited text and 500mb for $7 a month, and use pay as you go for the minutes, since that line needs texts a lot, and very few minutes.

Our other line is on straight pay as you go, since it doesn’t get used a lot,

Our total bill runs about $11-12 a month for two lines
It is great to be able to pick your usage and change if you need to anytime.

I did call Tello CS recently, and spoke to a human within 10 seconds of the first ring, I had a question about a sim card on a new unlocked phone we were buying, they answered it just fine. Great cs for a cell company.
