SYWR Points Back with Purchase Offers Thread

@my4mainecoons Ibotta has 10% back through 7/19, but you’d have to purchase through their app on a mobile device.
I noticed RMN finally quit having a cashback offer for Sears, which is a huge bummer. It was the only site that didn’t say the offer excluded stuff like electronics, home, and Marketplace. Has anyone had success getting credit for Marketplace orders from any cashback sites besides RMN? I know for sure that BeFrugal and TCB really do exclude items from Sears’s home department: on both of those sites, I tried purchasing home items along with apparel items in the same order, and I was credited cashback only on the apparel portion of those orders.
Current “free” Marketplace deals include $40 back on $40 from HomeSquare (through 7/16), $40 back on $40 from VMInnovations (through 7/21), and $30 back on $30 from a bunch of different jewelry vendors (through 7/23, click the link on Sears’s home page for a list of vendors). So I’m wondering if I can get cashback from any site for purchases from these Marketplace vendors. Thanks!

@mrvietnam I’ve gotten the following:
carpenter pencil
micro clamp
Craftsman 4 head screwdriver key chain thing
bottle of liquid hand soapIt depends what your stores have in stock. My main store only has hand soap but I like pencils and clamps so I order the big item from main store and the pencil from a Hometown store. You can order from as many stores as you like.
OT: I’ve been ordering single carpenter pencils as fillers. Pick them up at Hometown Store (franchise). The first time I did it they thought it was someone from Corporate testing their ability to fill online orders. After I picked it and others up I got the reputation as “the person who orders a pencil.” Fast forward 2 years. When recently in the Hometown store to pick something up there were several other orders for pencils-- from other customers.
Any ideas of cheap items at Kmart? I want to use a $5 off $50 coupon at Kmart.com. I am at $49.96. Can anyone think of some cheap items at Kmart that are available either to be shipped or pircked up in store as part of an online order?
EDIT: I found something: Essential Home Bath Tissue (4 rolls) costs $1.00, That is available for in store pickup. That will do the trick.
EDIT2: I found something even cheaper that will give me that needed 4 cents. It is Acme United Wood School Ruler 30 cm that is available for in store pick up and costs only a quarter.

@mrvietnam In the past I’ve ordered a single packet of Kool Aid for $0.25 if you can get a grocery item. I get lemonade mix and put it in iced tea.
Looks like Kool Aid no longer on website. Guess they got tired of pulling single packs…
Sign marker is in hardware, not office/school supplies so qualifies even when shopping w/ exclusions.
I have a lot of suet cakes (bird cookies) which are often $1.
Thumbtacks are also hardware.
Picture hanging kit
If you don’t have exclusions, search “composition book”. $0.50 and might actually be useful.

On the sears homepage, it says spend $25+ in marketplace electronics, get $100 cashback in points. Thought it was quite the deal, but it turns out it’s the opposite, spend $100 get $25 in points.
-
@lo Well, never mind! RMN has $20/100 now for Sears!
I ordered $30 Sears, $40 HomeSquare, and $40 VMInnovations; spent $110 + tax on the Sears item, got back just over $110 points and will hopefully receive $20 from RMN. Sweet.

Worked for me. Thanks, briarycliffs.
I took the new survey and got $10 in points, expiring 10/31/18, and then I took the old survey and got $10 in Freecash, too (expiring 7/31/18).
There is another offer for Kmart:
Kmart is offering $5 in points when you text FREECASH to 56278
Make sure your cell phone number is linked to your shopyourway account before sending your text. Mine at first wasn’t. Then I went online and updated my personal information. Then I sent the “FREECASH” message again and I got this reply:
“Oops, I’m sorry! We are experiencing a delay, but will provide your offer soon.” That was 15 minutes ago, so YMMV. I sent the “FREECASH” message again 15 minutes later but got the same reply. So far I’ve spent about $2 in messaging fees and have yet to receive my $5, but luckily the other $20 they gave me makes up for it.
-
@briarycliffs On the new survey for $10 in points, after logging in I got this:
- Thanks for your interest!
- The survey has ended or expired.
The text to Kmart (56278) came back with the $5 Freecash, but it says for in-store use only (sigh)…

I took this survey yesterday and today my account is suspended. I looked over on sd and it is being reported a bunch of SYW accounts are getting suspended and the one thing everyone has in common is they took this survey yesterday (which has now been removed from the website)… I called in and they said to call back in 24 hours and they could give more information. I only have one SYW account and have always only had one account with my real information. I hope I can get my account back as I have done the deals this month where they give you the SYW points over time. I am still owed $80 in points that I am scheduled to get next month and would rather not have to forfeit.
This account has been flagged as potentially malicious.
If you feel it was wrongly flagged, please contact our support team.Did anyone else get their SYW account suspended? If so, did you take the survey yesterday?
-
@mrvietnam Yikes! So far, SYW seems to be my buddy still. Hope that continues! I still have two $20 points installments coming…
-
My account was unsuspended.
Here is the chatter from that other deal forum:
Rumor in another thread is that people were able to do the survey many times and rack up tons of points (I was going to try this but the survey ended by the time I thought of it lol). Those are the ones they were trying to catch, guess they figured shut everyone down until they could work it out.
Edit - many times on the same account, I’m assuming by using private/cognito mode on browser.
Wonder if people who did several accounts will come out of this unharmed - they seem to be looking for the ones who used one acct to get hundreds of $
I got to keep my $10 as base points. Apparently some SYW rep posted on facebook that people who only took it once get to keep the points, people who took more than once lose them all. I guess if you already spent them you’ll have a -1,000,000,000 point balance or something, I’m assuming most people spent them immediately and picked up in store like with Target.
Somebody posted on Facebook that a woman posted on Instagram that she supposedly got many items INCLUDING a washer and and dryer, just from taking this survey multiple times.
If you only did the survey once, you should already be unblocked. If you did it more than once, well…you’re the one they’re searching for.

Is it just me, or am I the only one who found that funny? Walking out with a washer and dryer from points. All earned $10 at a time, it would have taken at least an hour or two.

I believe it. I am glad I took this survey only once so my account wasn’t permanently deactivated, I took the last survey (not this new one, but the last one) several times and I think I earned the $10 in Freecash about three times, but I took this new survey that paid points only once.
-
I hope they stop the people that have multiple accounts for themselves. I got my $10 survey points plus my $10 in wins points back yesterday. I think they even extended the expiration because I thought I had to use about $5 today, and now it’s Saturday.
Anyone still getting Freecash offers? I spent $25 in real money at Kmart and didn’t get a single coupon or offer. Didn’t get the weekly sweeps email either.

New month coming, new Kmart and Sears SYW offers. The Kmart offer, good both in-store at Kmart and online at Kmart.com, isn’t nearly as generous as past offers and expires 8/11/18:

Sears has a more generous offer, but it is online only at Sears.com (spend $45+ on clothes, get $45 back in points). You get your points in three installments of $15 each over the month of August). This offer also expires on August 11th. I wonder what’s up with these short deal expirations?:
Members get $45 CASHBACK in points when you spend $45 or more on Clothes at Sears.com. Offer valid 7/29/18 through 8/11/18. Points issued in 3 equal installments of $15 each are only valid for 14 days of issuance. First installment of points credited to account 24 hours after transaction and valid for 14 days. I was at my local Sears today and the $45 back on $45 clothes deal was showing as valid in store too. I’m not sure if it’s only at specific stores, but there were signs everywhere at this particular store. Same terms as the online deal–ends 8/11, 3 installments, etc.

@mrvietnam I noticed Sears is taking an additional 20% off today and tomorrow (Family & Friends sale), so if you were on the fence about the SYWR $45-back-on-$45-of-clothes online offer, you might want to check it out. Both offers last through tomorrow…
Edit (also): topcashback.com offers 8% back at sears.com; coupon code SEARS5OFF50 seems to be working

I used befrugal.com and they gave me 10% back at sears.com. I got my son 3 pairs of Dockers pleated blue pants to use as part of a school uniform. The pants were 17.98 each, so after cashback, SYW points, and sales tax, I only ended up paying about $2.xx a pair. Not bad at all.
-
@mrvietnam Coupon SEARS5OFF50 gets you $5 off $50. So putting $50+ worth of clothes in your cart, then applying that coupon, reduces your out-of-pocket to $45 or so (in order to get that $45 back in points in 3 installments). You could apply existing SYWR points to the order too, say if your clothes order was well over $45 after the coupon, but just make sure that your out-of-pocket (before tax) is at least $45 if you want all those bonus points.

Yesterday I placed my Sears.com order without using the SEARS5OFF50 code. I called today to see if I could retroactively apply it to my order and the rep said “no” so I canceled the order from yesterday, I did a mock order today and entered the coupon code and saw that it was still working. I tried to place the same order today but this time with the coupon code and now it says "We’re sorry, the coupon has not been applied.: when I try to add the coupon. In the explanation it says “We’re sorry, this coupon does not apply to the item(s) in your cart.” Like I said I did a mock order about 10 minutes earlier (but did not place that order) and the coupon took, but with different clothing items.

@my4mainecoons I don’t know about Sears wifi, but I’ve done it several times already just using a cellular connection (LTE) and their app, which by the way is pretty kludgy. As in it recognizes me as a SYWR user, but initially thinks I’m in Chicago or someplace trying to pick up my order. So I have to fumble around a bit to enter my zip code and select the actual Sears store I’m at. Then it’s clear sailing to see my order and ask for them to bring it to me. Which is almost embarrasing to have an employee walk out and hand me my $10.52 order that weighs 7 oz.
But hey, $10 is $10. Btw it usually takes 2-3 days for those $10 in points to show up in my SYW account.

I should have been more specific. “I don’t text” = I don’t have a data plan and I don’t know how to text. I only know how to wifi. I’ll down load the Sears app onto my Prime Day Fire and give it a try.
-
Heads up. Something I noticed for the first time on the Sears website, is that items I’ve “saved for later” in my cart and then go back later to look at (or add back to my cart) often default to a “marketplace seller” instead of Sears. The last thing I want playing the SYWR points game!
-
Here is a little tip I just figured out a couple weeks ago, you all may already know it. I’m sure most of you texted “FREECASH” to 56278 already. If you kept the replies and hit the link again, it should give you a new offer each week. I have hit the $5 FREECASH in points text I got on 8/16 and now get a weekly $8 in freecash on $20 order, not too shabby. Also, the replies to the text “FREE” that was in June, keeps giving me a link to a current freebie, right now a Stick Deodorant Degree, Old Spice, or Axe, expires 8/28/18. Morale of the story, keep old texts from syw and check the link, you might be surprised!
-
@briarycliffs Nice, thanks! Got the same 8-off-20. Should be handy when other SYWR points due soon arrive.

@ctgolfer I see where this Sears offer says max $200 points per member. Yet after doing it once already, when I add a $200+ item to my cart, I see the $200 bonus points promised again. Hmmm, what to believe…?

I’m certain that if you purchase again you will not see points. System leads you to believe you’ll earn them again but its lying.

@ukedog The deal in store is different from online, if you did it in-store…so yes, you would be able to do it online too. If you did it online already, perhaps your order hasn’t processed and credited the points yet. The system won’t show the limit reached until the points have posted.

Today (only), RetailMeNot is offering $20 cashback on any purchase $50 or over sitewide at sears.com (linking through them to sears). Sounded good to combine with Sears 100% SYWR points back on $200 sitewide–with 6mo. installments payout. Two new tires and a belt sander on the way…hopefully…
Anyone get credited for this offer yet? Normally RetailMeNot credits me the next day for Sears, or 2 days at most. It’s past that by now, so I’m worried, especially since I placed multiple orders and none have credited.

Transaction #2:
Socket set scans for $29.99. Add in a bottle of hand soap for $1.
I have a $15/$100 coupon.
Tell cashier I want to pay full price. New total $100.99
Apply coupon. New total $85.99.
Pay with points. Receive additional $77 on gift card.I paid $132 w/ gc and I’m putting $154 back on to the gc.
They can add funds to gc’s so I keep using the same gc until the stripe wears out.Hi, I was wondering if you could elaborate on how to apply the coupon in this situation. I had a $20 off $100 coupon loaded on my account, but it didn’t come off for me on a regular-priced $99.99 socket set and $0.99 keychain filler. If I ask the cashier to go back and scan the physical coupon, the socket set reverts in price to $29.99 so I’m nowhere near the required threshold of $100. This scenario works fine for me if I have freecash, but I can’t figure out how to do it when I have a coupon off of $100. Thank you!

@lo Sadly I’ve not heard anything from RMN on this either, from a Sept 3 Sears online sale.
-
@ukedog Thanks, not a good sign. I placed another order yesterday and it’s already pending. I didn’t get any credits from my 9/3 orders though.
I actually tried another of their Monday-only deals several weeks ago, and it also never tracked. It was an offer for $15 back on $30 at Office Depot, yet I have ordered from Office Depot through RMN before and had no tracking issues in the past. It’s almost as if the lucrative Monday deals are purposefully broken…

Per RMN, it can take up to 15 days to post. You ignored that and filed a claim anyway. Perhaps that is why they have not responded, they are waiting the specified 15 days to see if Sears acknowledges the transaction.
-
@gatorj No claim was filed. I’m cool with waiting.
As lo said, this one has just been uncharacteristically slow…

Perhaps I’m simply worrying for no reason (hope that’s indeed it), but frankly it makes me glad to hear I’m not the only one with no tracking yet on 9/3 orders, so thanks UkeDog. Yes, I think we all know there’s no point in contacting RMN before 15 days are up. But now I think there’s high likelihood that I’ll need to remind myself to make that contact 9 days from now. As I noted, past Sears purchases generally tracked within 1-2 days. My 9/8 purchase has already tracked too, so it is strange for 9/3 orders to not have yet. Again, hope I’m simply wrong. I’m just a bit annoyed because I placed orders I definitely wouldn’t have if not for the RMN offer, and they’re not even orders that can be easily returned (3rd party Marketplace).
