One alternative is the pull money from Salem Five using Bask (no limits), then push into Republic. Hate to use/abuse Bask doing that.,
I’ve done that. How is that abuse?

Tried to make a $10,000 transfer but "Unable to process request. The transfer amount exceeds
the maximum allowed for external transfers. Please reduce the amount to complete the transfer."
I don’t know the limit, but it’s less than I require.
Many of these banks have a great teaser rate but make accessing your money difficult. $5,000/day $10,000/month ACH transfer limits for one thing. I’m just finding out at Purely Digital bank that they haven’t been processing the trial deposits from the external banks I want to link, so I can’t make any significant withdrawals.
So it was Impossible to keep down, eh? Don’t they use Olestra as a substitute for the fat?

Ivy Bank Indexed Savings was 4.71%, appears to be no longer available
To new customers I assume, still shows as 4.71 in my account. They must have gotten enough applicants to drop it from the website. Just hope the rate doesn’t drop March 1st.

@craig10x Thanks goldsheet…I got on Chat at 11 PM last night and got someone around 11:30 PM…she ordered the checks for me…you are correct…they are not automatically ordered…
Which bank is this for?
I get notifications when my credit scores goes up or down.
How can you tell? I did get alerts from the credit monitoring services but I also applied at Purely Bank and got a Home Depot card the last few days.
@jtownsucks46 said in Best Nationally Available High APY Liquid Accounts:
Not familiar with this bank and haven’t spent much time looking into them but this may be the first 5%+ liquid account.
OK I guess I’m the guinea pig. Just applied and it was the easiest I’ve ever experienced. Apparently the account is open and have linked the funding account immediately. Looks like they even have branches nearby.

Brilliant Bank Savings was 4.01% now 4.30%
Do you have to contact them for that 4.30% rate. My account still shows as 3.94%
Bask Bank savings account up to 4.15% APY.

MySavingsDirect MySavings Account now at 4.35% APY with $1 minimum initial deposit. Available nationwide.
How much hassle is getting 0.10% more interest over banks with 4.25% APY worth it? I only have one personal checking account with Alliant that pays virtually nothing. I would have to ACH money to that account from one of my external accounts paying 4.00% and wait for it to clear Then transfer from Alliant to MSD and wait another few days to clear. All the while losing a bunch of interest along the way. Why can’t MSD take your funds from savings or MMA accounts? Why must it be a personal checking account? It’s like they are putting up this barrier so people don’t actually open up an account.
I just noticed MSD is a division of Emigrant Bank. So is Dollar Savings Direct. Why wouldn’t DSD match that rate?
@goldsheet said
Please keep in mind, while a third-party may make deposits into your MySavings account, they will not be permitted to make withdrawals out of the account.
Are you sure third-party is the same as ACH withdrawals
The current rate for Bask Interest Savings Accounts is 4.03% APY as of Tuesday, December 13, 2022.

Customers Bank was 3.05%, now 4.05%
From their website, https://www.maxmyinterest.com/learn-more
Max costs 2 basis points (0.02%) per quarter, or $20 per $100,000 held in your savings accounts, subject to a minimum of $12 every 3 months. No other costs or fees.
Basically that means it has an annual charge of .08% with a minimum $48 service fee per year so that 4.05% is more like 3.97%.
Brilliant Bank MM will charge $5 for paper statements. Just got a phone call from them telling me this and than I can switch to free e-statements, which I did. She also mentioned there is a fee for ACH transfers originated through them. Not a big deal if you use another bank to transfer money in and out. I guess to get 4% they have to charge for stuff most banks do for free.
Upgrade Bank, as far as I can see, doesn’t return account verification trial deposits to the originating bank. For example, I linked Brilliant to Upgrade and Brilliant sent two micro deposits totaling 30 cents to Upgrade. Upgrade didn’t return that 30 cents so now it’s debited from my Brilliant account. Not a big deal, as it’s a deposit in my Upgrade account, just kind of odd. I have over $4 in micro deposits in Upgrade from a few other banks I linked and only Brilliant has clawed it back. Hmmm. Any way to monetize this activity?
Merchants has $5,000/day limit on ACH originated through them. Probably so people don’t suddenly take all their money out at once.
Anybody else open an Upgrade Premier Savings account? They have a line in their terms and conditions where if you ACH money into Upgrade from an external account, you can only take the money out within 60 days to that same external account. No big deal you think?
Well, I used my First Foundation savings account to ACH a decent amount into Upgrade. Went through just fine. Now when I want to take that money out, I get a message from First Foundation saying, This account has been suspended from the Funds Transfer Service. I called FF and they said the routing number Upgrade uses isn’t compatible with personal accounts, or something to that effect, I wasn’t too sure what they meant.
So I basically have to leave that money there for almost 2 months. While it might be a good dilemma to be in, earning 3.50%, but it seems a bit shady. I can probably ACH it from Upgrade to First Foundation, but Upgrade transfer limits are small. $10,000 every 7 days max.

I have so many banks ACH connected I need a spreadsheet to see which ones to use to either push or pull.
You ain’t the only one.

This is PW. Us cheap bastards don’t spend money on wires when ACH is free.
@jtownsucks46 said in Best Nationally Available High APY Liquid Accounts:
Yeah that doesn’t bother me. I use Alliant Credit Union as a hub account and they have 1 day ACH service. There’s also typically no hold on funds when you push them so I prefer to push anyway for this reason.
Does Alliant still have a $25K/day limit? That would be annoying to pull $250K from one account to push into Merchants. 20 days total to complete a transfer?

@goldsheet My head is dizzy transferring funds back and forth between all my banks the last month as they raise their rates.
Dollar Savings Direct has been raising their rates to maintain their claim of the “America’s Highest Rate” so I’d expect them to raise theirs to match Bask. So you could just put it there.
DSD has a lousy ACH transfer policy. You can’t use an external bank to transfer money out of your DSD account (and maybe in, too), and you can have only an external personal CHECKING account linked to your DSD account to transfer money initiated through DSD.

Northern Bank Direct MM was 2.75% now 3.25%
I still have a MMA there from a few years ago. Called and they will bump up to this current rate without having to open a new account. So not closing unused accounts eventually pays off.
Between Bask Bank and Elements Financial. It’s almost like same day although I didn’t check last night, the funds are available this morning for a transfer I made yesterday. Most other banks take 3-5 days. Wow.
@jtownsucks46 said in Best Nationally Available High APY Liquid Accounts:
Looks like the Elements Financial Credit Union Helium Savings promo at 3.25% has been discontinued. The account page now shows the non-promo 1.00% rate for balances above $2,500. I believe the promo guaranteed the 3.25% rate for 1 year for anyone who signed up.
I’m locked in for a year. Guess they got too many customers.

Brio Direct Savings was 2.61% now 2.80%<<
Whatever you opened for is the rate it’s stuck at.
You can’t call them to switch your rate to the new rate?
@goldsheet I have the 360 MMA with a 2 cent balance and it shows 0.80% APY. Not worth tying up $100K for 4 months at an effective 3% APY of the bonus plus the .80% interest of the account when rates are rising. Maybe we will see 5% rates by the end of the year.

Dollar Savings Direct Savings was 2.00% now 3.00%
I already have an account, but it only says 2% and the asterisk on the homepage says effective today Sept 20th, so I wonder if I have to open a new account?
I do too and forgot what a pain they were to deal with. Can’t ACH funds in from an external account. To originate ACH through DSD from an external account it mush be from a checking account that has actual paper checks. You will be asked to provide us with a signed Account Verification Authorization Form which will allow DollarSavingsDirect to contact your bank directly should we require further verification of ownership of the external funding account. You must send the Account Verification Authorization form along with a voided check with your DollarSavingsDirect account number written in the memo portion Of all the banks to have the highest rate, why does it have to be this one.
So what does that mean? If you opt out and a buyer files a claim against you, instead of arbitration, Paypal just takes the money out of your account?
One thing not mentioned before with SaveBetter is you can only initiate ACH transfers, in or out, through SaveBetter, not through your external account. SaveBetter wouldn’t even tell me my account number or routing number. And you can only have ONE external account so be sure the one you use initially to transfer money is the one you always want to use as it can’t be changed for 60 days. On the plus side, they said there is no dollar maximum that can be transferred daily or monthly.
