Most online apps get approved instantly, what more info would then need? And you do have to make a $5 donation to their “Human Fund” organization in order to open an account unless you are already a member of their credit union.

Looks like Qualifying Direct Deposits for self-employed not getting SS or a pension are not happening. I had an account where any recurring deposit would qualify to get the good rate. ACH’d a penny every month and they were happy.

I understand that but what’s in it for the bank such that they offer nearly twice the interest rate?

What is in it for the banks with direct deposit such that there is such a large rate difference? SoFI 1.25% with DD and 0.70% without? What’s the difference between DD $100 vs. ACHing $100 into your account?

Mortgage rates went up about 2 percentage points from under 4% to nearly 6% in a few weeks but savings rates struggle to rise 1/10 percent at a time. Ain’t that great.

So what’s the effective interest rate of $450 interest for 3 months on $50K considering you would take it from another account earning say 0.80 % into this one only earning 0.30%?

Initiated a $50K transfer from my Customers Bank account to Kabbage on Wednesday. It was in Kabbage on Thursday. Did another transfer for $49.5K yesterday. I see it in my account this morning.
