This is an awesome deal. Hulu is half the price of the $1.99 last year. I wasn’t planning on getting Disney+ but for only $1 more a month than I paid for just Hulu this year, I’ll add that as well. I’ve been wanting to check it out but I couldn’t justify it before when I don’t really have time to watch what I already have.

RE: Fresh Pass $5 perk, not showing yet for October - Anyone?posted in Expired Deals
I just got an email telling me I have two FreshPass perks, $5 expiring on 10/15 and the Starbucks coupon. I clicked the links to clip them and… nothing. Still not visible anywhere as far as I can tell. Looks like I’ll be calling support again.

RE: Fresh Pass $5 perk, not showing yet for October - Anyone?posted in Expired Deals
@mistercheap
They’ve actually been really nice when I call the Freshpass number. They’ve given me credits on my account to make up for the missing $5 coupons, and then some extra. That credit can’t be tracked on my end but I bought something yesterday and it was free except for tax, so it seems to work as expected.
I’m getting a bit frustrated that they can’t seem to fix my account though. I may call again towards the end of the month if I don’t hear back from them first (the last person said she’d call me back) to see about progress.
They can see right away that the coupons aren’t on my account, so that’s not the issue. -

I still have never had any coupons since I joined at the end of August. I’ve called three times so far, and they keep saying they will investigate.
The last time the agent said that a number of people have been having issues. Maybe the problem is spreading to those who previously were ok.

Thanks for the additional information. I didn’t see it under Special Offers.I called the “special” Freshpass help number tonight and the person couldn’t see my coupons either. They are escalating it, so we’ll see what happens. She said she was giving me a credit to use in store, but I’m not sure if or where I would see that on my end. Maybe it just turns up when I check out in the store?

Re: the promotional credit. I received an email that it was available but maybe that was wrong?
Go to the FreshPass section to see if it’s available for clipping.
I signed up for Freshpass, and got a notice earlier this month about the $5 off coupon. At the time, I saw I had 2 coupons available, one expiring on 9/15 and one on 9/30. I can’t find the notice anymore. I wanted to use them before the 15th, and I tried everything I could think of, in the app and on the website, but I couldn’t find where they are located. I was very lucky and they gave me the discounts at the register anyway, but I want to figure this out by next month.
In a previous post with the terms, it said: “Subscribers receive the credit every month in the form of a $5 coupon available in their FreshPass offer gallery. The $5 coupon must be clipped to activate the credit for use on a subsequent purchase.”
How do I get to the Freshpass offer gallery? I seem to have the subscription to Freshpass in place but just can’t figure this out. If it makes a difference, this is Safeway.
Thanks for any help someone can give.

Got the same message, I was a bit confused because I also don’t have Venmo, but it’s in Paypal. $14 for me (thanks, Staples clearance!). Found an additional receipt a few months ago that would have put me over the threshold for another 100 pods. Oh well.

The coupons grayed out for me are the ones I picked already. As a data point, I discovered a couple weeks ago that my car key takes CR2016 batteries rather than CR2032. Lucky for me I’d gotten a pack of those on a Best Buy deal recently.

So before you go to spend your gift cards, if you joined their rewards program you may want to check for a reward or other credit to use up as well.

Weber Spirit II E-310 3-Burner Propane Gas Grill - Home Depot clearance $325 YMMVposted in Hot Deals
Some Home Depot stores have the well-reviewed Weber Spirit II E-310 3-Burner Propane Gas Grill on clearance.
The tag on the floor model read $390 as the clearance price, but the person helping me scanned it to see if they had any boxed, and it showed it at $325. The scanner told her where to find the 7 they had in the store (up high in the garden center shelves).Brickseek should show the stores that are clearancing these and the stock, but won’t say the price.

They have it on sale right now via the website for $499 (regularly $569). Amazon and Lowe’s have it at $639.I’m very excited to have actually found one in the second store I tried - only two in my area showed any on clearance and in stock - and for even less than I thought! Hopefully others can find this as well. Good luck!

RE: Amazon Subscribe & Save - Anyone else notice the change?posted in Deal Discussion
@yoregano I’m not sure if you do or don’t see the “change” option like I have, when it forces you to purchase immediately for the subscription. Today I was able to use that link to force an item to go into my April S&S order instead of being delivered right away.
-
RE: Amazon Subscribe & Save - Anyone else notice the change?posted in Deal Discussion
@mtnagel
Compare what I have on the product page to your screenshot - for me (and for @yoregano) it is offering to deliver immediately, tomorrow in my case, and not with my next S&S delivery, which would be at the end of April. But for me I have a “change” link and when I click that, it gives me the option to have the first delivery at the end of April with my next regular S&S order.

@yoregano, do you have the “change” link on the product page before you add it to your cart?
Either way, they are definitely messing with the options. I am currently waiting for my March delivery and did go through my subscriptions last week and removed some, so they may not like that in general. -
RE: Amazon Subscribe & Save - Anyone else notice the change?posted in Deal Discussion
@yoregano
I just went to the item in your screenshot, and I can’t even add that to my cart as a regular purchase, so the “change” option I mentioned isn’t available. I’m guessing some of the options available may depend on the item. -
RE: Amazon Subscribe & Save - Anyone else notice the change?posted in Deal Discussion
You described exactly how I use S&S, and I have something sitting in my cart for the same reason - it wouldn’t let me add it to my next S&S order, it would only let me buy it immediately for 5% with the next one with my regular S&S order with potentially the higher discount. I’d had regular behavior with S&S items just a couple days before, and hadn’t tried any other items yet.
I’ve seen this type of behavior occasionally in the past, but I think then you were able to change to your S&S day in checkout. Not this time.
I just checked the item in my cart again. The price is a bit higher. Now, from the product page if I click the S&S option it gives me the ability to change to my next monthly delivery if I click on “change” by the delivery date.
So hopefully this is not signalling a permanent change in behavior in general.

RE: Finding Email Hosting companiesposted in Technology
@phat200
I have one domain, and I think I set up two email accounts, but only really use one. I have a few aliases set up that I also am not using now.I haven’t ever used domain-level filters, so I can’t help with that, sorry.
These days I mostly use their webmail, although I also have Outlook set up to download via POP (and also separately via IMAP because it’s sometimes easier to use that when I’m trying to clean up my inbox). Outlook filters spam into the junk folder, and the webmail into a spam folder. Outlook still downloads the emails that the webmail puts into spam. Outlook has its own spam filter system, although it may be flagged in the email headers by zoho. I’m not sure about that. Outlook seems to filter more into the junk folder than zoho does on webmail, but it could be that I haven’t trained it as well.
Hope that helps a bit.
-
RE: Finding Email Hosting companiesposted in Technology
Hi, I’ve checked my settings and I’ll try to answer your questions as best I can, but I’m not an expert.
- The mail servers are zoho’s domain (like mail.zoho.com but it’s a different prefix).
- It looks like the name server is my domain host’s, not the email host. DNS is a different setting. The MX records in the DNS are pointing to zoho.
- If you are using Outlook or another program to download your email, I would think that the filters and address book would be stored in Outlook, and should still work. It’s possible you’d need to adjust the filters to look for something different, but I’m not sure. Do you have all that set up on the back end/current email host? I don’t use cPanel currently for anything, so I can’t really answer the rest. That may be something I don’t do on my account.
- I haven’t had to contact support much at all, so it’s hard to say. I did have an issue downloading to Outlook a few weeks ago. I emailed the support email address and got an answer within a day. (Turns out they have a limit of 50,000 emails in the mailbox, and at that point POP downloading doesn’t work.) That said, my expectations of heavy tech support for a free account are low.
- I’m not sure exactly what TLS is, but in my settings it uses “SSL/TLS”.
- SSL certificates would only be relevant for websites and not email hosting as far as I know.
- According to the sign-up page I linked to previously, they have a 25MB limit on attachments. I don’t usually have trouble with this limit.
- A few years ago I had some issues with a few of my emails being rejected for spam/blacklisting, but that hasn’t happened for a long time. In terms of my incoming emails, their spam filter seems to be pretty accurate. I have my account set up to deliver all emails, and the ones flagged as spam go into the spam folder. So I don’t miss any that could be false positives (if that’s the kind of thing you were asking about).
I moved to Zoho about 9 years ago when the company that had been hosting my domain and email for free (a former employer) informed me that they were going to start charging quite a bit to continue hosting my domain. It’s possible you might be happier with a service that has a higher level of customer support available. But for me, this has worked out well so far. Hopefully that will continue!
-
RE: Finding Email Hosting companiesposted in Technology
I have a similar situation, a domain with no website and a very small number of email accounts. I’ve been using Zoho mail for free to host my email for many years now. It’s not perfect but for free I can’t complain. They have a 5 GB storage limit, which I’ve run into, but if you download all your email that won’t be relevant.
At this point all I pay for is the domain itself, and my domain host points to Zoho for email. You definitely don’t need to pay for web hosting.
I’m not positive, but I think the plan I’m on is in the left blue box if you scroll down on this page: https://www.zoho.com/mail/zohomail-pricing.html

Interesting. I’ve only used this card for the 3% back on groceries. Is the 3% back on gas new too? I thought gas and everything else were 1%.
I’m currently toward the end of a year upgraded to preferred for free, but if I recall, gas is 2% back for the Everyday card. Since they aren’t offering the 3% on retail for the preferred version, I definitely plan to downgrade again when my free year expires.
gas is now 3% back on Everyday. Maybe you meant 2% on Preferred?
Sorry, I meant to say that it was 2% for gas on the Everyday card, before this change. Not 1%. Department stores were also 2% (as of 8/2021, at least).
