New bank added to the list today. Mutual Bank Leader Money Market account @ 2.43% interest with 1k min and 250k max. Interesting thing about this account is that it automatically refreshes on the 15th of every month to match the current Fed Funds Rate.

Up to $1,000, then 0.25%. Not worth the time applying.

Northpointe Bank now offering an account paying 2.30% guaranteed for 12 months with minimum deposit of $100,000. https://www.northpointe.com/earn230/
Weren’t they the bank that credited interest quarterly? On this account it’s monthly.
Yes on their 1.95% account which requires a minimum of $25,000, it’s credited quarterly.
So is this the same account? I have 1 cent in it after transferring the money to higher rate accounts. If I put $25K+ back in will I get 2.30% or do I have to ask them or do I have to open a new account?
Different account that requires 100k to get the 2.30%

Popular Direct up to 2.26%
Not excited about this bank. There’s a $25 fee if you close the account within 180 days of opening the account, and they won’t guarantee the rate for any amount of time. You could earn the rate for a couple of months, then they drop it to 0.25%, and you’re stuck because you didn’t earn enough to cover the $25 early termination fee.
-Z
So? Just drop your balance to $0.01.
So you get your balance back LESS the $25 termination fee and the $0.01 you leave in the account. Not a good deal when you lose part of your principal. Breakeven is at three months by my reckoning. For example, put $5K in at 2.65%, so you would earn (rounded, and without compounding), $11.04 per month. To equal the $25 termination fee, you would have to stay in at least three months and hope that they don’t drop the rate during those three months. If they guaranteed the rate for three months, I would be OK with taking a chance and putting my money there.
Yes, they have been raising their rate, but no guarantee that they will continue.
- Z
What bank are you getting 2.65% at?

You actually have to drop it to $500 in order to avoid a fee, HOWEVER, Popular has been consistently raising their rates to be at or near the top of all banks during this calendar year so unlikely that they’ll drop their rates…
Damn! Must have missed that. I dropped it to 1 cent at the beginning of the month after going to another bank.
Well at least it’s just going to cost you $4. You can throw $500 in there for next month so you don’t have to pay again. 2.26% is still a good rate.

I recently opened the EBSB Direct Savings Account…does anyone know: 1) If a deposit posts right away when you set up an incoming transfer using their system? 2) Any hold placed on funds? if so, how long? (when you transfer in using their system)…
From their disclosures:
External Transfers
Accounts are considered new for a period of thirty (30) days; during this time period those funds transferred from an external account to your account at East Boston Savings Bank will not be available for withdrawal for nine (9) business days.
After the thirty (30) day new account time period those funds transferred from an external account to your account at East Boston Savings Bank will not be available for withdrawal for three (3) business days.
External Transfers to CDs: Only the initial transfer to fund the CD is permitted.
Your account is not considered opened until you verify your external account. The thirty (30) day new account period begins from this date, not the date you applied online for the account. -
