RE: 8% Ebay Bucks YMMV Must Activate (no min. purchase, exclns apply) ends 11/16
@vegasvegan I receive seller promotions that aren’t useful. I don’t sell that much, maybe $6k a year. Don’t have a store. Don’t list enough to make it worthwhile. I really dislike eBay promotional emails so have opted out of as much as possible. That’s probably why I don’t receive email offers but when I check my acct I don’t see offers for eBay bucks to activate either.

Got my Q’s today that I bought from Flea Market, yes they beeped, but one store seems to think they beeped due to the price being $9.99, and I let them modify it, easy to be done with it.
the issue isn’t the $9.99 price and $10 coupon, nor is it ip vs insert q. It just beeps as does just about everything at RA these days.
Did you have filler to cover the penny?
Another way – and better cash out, is to have them do a post-coupon.
I’ll be buying meter ($10q beeps), Nicorette ($10 mq beeps) and Schick razors. $20 is a lot to override. I’ll have them post q $20.
if you have q’s you won’t use I could use 4 more. -
RE: Folgers French Roast Ground Coffee, Medium-Dark Roast, 24.2 Ounce $2.90 @Amazon S&S
@dangeruss Did this sell out or was it a price mistake? I don’t see Amazon as a seller.

@sweetclover I never ever get any eBay bucks offers and I never buy anything on eBay; I just sell. Maybe you have to spend money to get love?

RE: $55 Newegg Digital Gift Card for $50 @Groupon and LivingSocial
@centora87 You can earn cash back on Groupon purchases. Is your question whether this deal would be excluded because you’re buying a gift card and cash back isn’t usually earned when buying a gift card? If so, I have no idea.
The NewEgg gift cards can be used along with a NewEgg coupon.
The $20 is a gift card not a coupon. You can use multiple gift cards on a single order.I remember doing something similar last year and cashing out the entire gc buying FAR stuff on BF.

RE: Official Home Depot B&M YMMV Clearance Topic
@597404 Does website reflect price at a given store (like Lowe’s) or is it regular retail (like Staples)?

RE: HURRY!!!! Activate S* $10 Contour Next One meter!!! $10MM at Rite Aid!!! Exp. 12-4-17
@mrvietnam I purchased Saturday PM. Monday I received credit for other items in transaction but not the meter. emailed S*. Today received email that they didn’t know why meter hadn’t counted and they were crediting my account. Now it appears that the UPC I purchased is counting according to the app. I like to think that it was my early adoption and messaging S* that got it fixed.

RE: How to visit the U.K.?
@frett I travel internationally independently and alone. I’ve travelled to the UK several times although not recently.
I choose hotels based on neighborhood, price and reviews. Book cheapest upgradeable air fare and use miles to upgrade to business class. Really nice to be able to stretch out on a long flight. Makes it special too, like an anniversary should be. I use local transport to get to hotel from airport.
Are you familiar with TripAdvisor.com?
For guidebooks I like the Lonely Planet series but it depends on your style. Guidebooks are targeted to specific audiences. Rick Steves is much less adventurous than Lonely Planet but more adventurous than e.g. Frommers. You will be jet lagged when you arrive. Typically I check into hotel then if I’m with someone who’s never been to London before, we take a city tour. London Transit used to run one where you could get on/off stops all for one ticket. I suggest just riding cuz you’ll be tired. You’ll go past places you’ll want to return to and places you don’t care to revisit but at least you’ll have gone past Buckingham Palace even if you don’t want to watch the changing of the guards. Then walk around a bit, have dinner and go to bed early.
Its a long drive from London to Scotland by car. Maybe 8 hrs.? I’ve only done it by overnight train. If you don’t mind spending 2 days of your 10 day trip just driving then go for it. You could spend 10 days just in Scotland. Ireland? Even longer to get there. Again, a place you could spend a week. Maybe that’s what you want this trip to be, the experience of travelling to/from Scotland and staying in B&B’s along the way.
I travel by public transit, ie buses, trains. You can get just about anywhere you want from London, just know that depending on where you’re headed will determine which station you leave from.

RE: Should be easy math question but I don't know how to do it.
@my4mainecoons Pleasantly surprised when I went to BB to buy gas gc today. In the past they only had Mobil. Today they also had Shell in $25 and $50’s. I bought a combination of Shell & Exxon Mobil cards because I get 5¢/gallon discount at the pump from their Gas Rewards program. I think that’s another 2% if the price per gallon is the same as at Exxon Mobil.

RE: Official Holiday Gift Card / GC bonus promo thread 2017
@fivetalents Thanks, I got one at Best Buy. I think effectively 21% discount on it since I got it with BB gc from RA bought with prepaid visas from Staples… lol. Panera were variable load which is nice. $15+. Mail carrier might get Panera one year instead of DD.

If you have a 5% card for use at office supply stores, why don’t you have a 2% card for non-category spend?
Also, are you 100% sure you can use a Best Buy gift card to buy a different gift card. Nearly every time I’ve tried something like that with a store gift card, they tell me I can’t buy another gift card.
I think Best Buy is one of the few remaining exceptions: I recently used a $50 Best Buy GC to purchase a $50 Whole Foods GC in store.
Sears/Kmart is another one. I’ve purchased Staples, Amazon, Panera, Shell, etc at KM using Sears gift cards.

RE: Should be easy math question but I don't know how to do it.
@meed18 Unless things have changed recently you can buy 3rd party gc at BB using BB gc and nobody blinks an eye.
I get 2% on gas on Amex but not sure going that route saves me more than its worth to have to go to WM to cash out the prepaids.
Other times I’ve paid for the BB gc at Rite Aid using 1% cc then gone to BB and bought gas gc.
In the past when I bought them the discount/PP offer at RA was 20%. Now its only 16%.I don’t pay attention to the cc% for gas because usually I’m paying with a gc that I got at more than 10% discount vs. only 2% on cc.

RE: Staples $10/$30 coupon for E- Recycling Nov. 12-18
@george2001 Most stores have a plastic “tower” into which folks dump batteries to be recycled. The first year I looked in the tower and found an old iPod. Pulled it out of the recycling tower and took it to the register.
This isn’t for the faint of heart
The tower is about 4" high so I ended up lying it on the ground and shaking it to get the iPod.
Last night I checked to see what they had. Only thing that wasn’t a battery looked like a sound card. I could have used it but decided to hunt for an old usb first. -
RE: Should be easy math question but I don't know how to do it.
@bigbadandmean Thanks for confirming my math.
Next question… alternative is to buy money orders with the prepaid cards and deposit them in my checking account. Then buy Best Buy gc using my usual credit card.In comparison, I’d pay 0.035% (70¢) to convert each prepaid to money order.
I’d be charging the BB gc on a cc that only gives me 1% back.
Not to mention time to go to Walmart where I only go to buy m.o.
Thinking I should stick to using the prepaids at RA instead of my cc. -
RE: Should be easy math question but I don't know how to do it.
@bigbadandmean Its $16 per $100 and $5 per $100. So why not 21%?
-
Should be easy math question but I don't know how to do it.
I should know how to do this but I don’t.
I purchased $400 in prepaid visa gift cards at Staples. Rebate covers the activation fee. Earning 5% back on my Chase Ink credit card, $20.
I’m going to use the $400 visa to buy $400 in Best Buy gift cards at Rite Aid this week. Earn 1600 PP ($16) for $100 in BB gc. So 16% bonus.
I’m going to buy $400 in Mobil gas gc at Best Buy.
What is my discount on gas? Is it 21%?
Am I getting a $100 gas gc for $79?Then if gas is $2.50/gallon, how much am I effectively paying per gallon? $1.975?
I earn 1% back in Plenti points or other bonuses when I buy gas which is trivial but it works out to a few cents less per tank.
thanks.

RE: Staples $10/$30 coupon for E- Recycling Nov. 12-18
@somanycats yes. Just make sure you hand over the $10/$30 first. Then give them your Rewards check (I presume that’s what you mean by ‘points’).
If Rewards is more than your balance due you’ll receive a “balance” check back for the difference. That balance check has to be used all at once, unlike the original Reward which gives you overpayment back, kwim? -
RE: HURRY!!!! Activate S* $10 Contour Next One meter!!! $10MM at Rite Aid!!! Exp. 12-4-17
@mistercheap Its the Contour Next One that’s on sale. I think the manufacturer name changed. It used to be called Bayer Contour and in the insert its called the Ascensia Contour Next.
This is the one I got. The box looks exactly like the one in the RP insert and on S*. -
RE: HURRY!!!! Activate S* $10 Contour Next One meter!!! $10MM at Rite Aid!!! Exp. 12-4-17
@briarycliffs Everything is beeping at RA lately, insert q’s especially. Peelies attached to their products. All the Pfizer ips. I bought 7 things tonight and every single coupon beeped “no matching item” and they were for exact item purchased, including a peelie on a bottle of Robitussin.
The only thing that’s been scanning w/o beeping is the Schick q’s that give overage, go figure.
OTH, as long as your store doesn’t mind manually entering things, you’ll DD because L2c for different values attach just fine. -
RE: HURRY!!!! Activate S* $10 Contour Next One meter!!! $10MM at Rite Aid!!! Exp. 12-4-17
@mistercheap Wait a bit before you buy. (You have to wait for the q’s to arrive anyway, lol)
Firstly the q beeps.
Secondly there are reports that it doesn’t work when checked w/ the S* app.
I bought the one on the shelf and if it doesn’t clear for the $10 I’ll be contacting S* who will then hopefully fix it for people buying later in the month. -
RE: Staples $10/$30 coupon for E- Recycling Nov. 12-18
@george2001 The first year they did this I got a bunch of coupons and used them. Last year I got one coupon and I don’t think I used it. I have a hard time finding stuff I want that doesn’t have a rebate or isn’t on sale.
I might end up getting more Kcups. I just updated the list in the Clearance/YMMV thread.
Lots of nice flavors now 50% off. With the coupon they’re $4 for 16-18 ct box.Hunting for my smallest USB drive. Must have a 500mb somewhere.

RE: Rite Aid Black Friday Ad Scan 2017
@my4mainecoons
Kleenex isn’t free but 50¢ for 3 boxes is pretty good and it counts towards 2000PP wyb $75 Allergy Reward. I’m $2.50 shy of my next 2000PP.
3 Kleenex $3 - 50¢/3 = $2.50 earn 200PP
