Would you please share the subject line of that weekly SYW sweeps email? TIA

    subject line is Sweeps Weekly
    sent Sunday 3’ish AM

Possibly YMMV if you’re not subscribed to that email list, or YMMV because it is Sears and sometimes they’re not reliable.

  • @ctujackbauer thanks ctu, I stumbled around in my account and finally found under “Contact Preferences” an Email subscriptions tab.
And under that an expandable SYW listing that contained a “Sweepstakes” item. Should be subscribed now (in case this comes up again)!

  • Just want to verify the usage/earning of points, If I order The 17 piece set of screwdrivers $27.99 and use $19 in points will it qualify for the 50% back offer or do i need to pay at least half to receive them?
    Thank You

You’d get back 50% of what you spend out of pocket, so (27.99 - 19) * .5 = you’d get $4.50 in points if you did that. If you didn’t apply any points as payment and paid all $27.99 out of pocket, you’d receive $14 in points. This will all be reflected on your checkout page (it should show $14 back before you apply points and $4.50 back after you apply $19 in points). If you paid half out of pocket, then you’d get back half of half the cost of the screwdrivers, make sense? 😉

  • Eddie Lampert carny games continue, this time with higher stakes…

$200 in points back wys $200 (excludes mattresses) on sears homepage. Paid back in 6 monthly installments of $33.34

edit: oops, ctgolfer already posted this, ends today fwiw.

  • @ctujackbauer Lol, yeah I’m curious what tomorrow’s new “dare-to-gamble-against-us” offer might be. Spend $300, get back $300 in points (over 18 months)?

Buy one major appliance $500 and above, get a $500 major appliance in January?

It’s already a bit of a dice roll for Sears to make it to January. You pays your monies, you takes your chances.

  • @lo Much clearer than the convoluted legalize they use Thank You

They’re banking on the average consumer, not us. It’s a good bet.
Average consumer will forget about the monthly FC or it will expire before they use it-- at least once.
If the customer remembers they’re in the store every month to spend the FC and probably more.

Last month I did the “Spend $50 get $25 now and $25 next month”. I have calendar alerts starting a few days before the 2nd $25 is available. Converted the first $25 back to $20 on my Sears g.c and will do same with next installment.

  • Global Moderator

Just did the spend $50 get $50 in points at KMART. spread over two installments good 2 weeks each, I can handle that. Can’t handle it spread out in drips and drabs.

So I should be able to order $25 worth of stuff online with store pick up right at the end of the 1st 14 days, then go pick it up during the 2nd 14 day period and shop in person using the 2nd $25 in points.

To have to keep making trips to the store to spend $10 at a time is a pain.

  • 500 Club

@MISTERCHEAP I think KM has 2 wk grace on holding for pick up so if something you want goes on sale before then, you can order. I did the $50 on $50 at sears because it was only 2 installments and each is good for 30 days. I think 2 installments is my limit.

For those who haven’t done these promotions before, when it says First installment of points credited to account 24 hours after transaction it means you have to have the item in hand or it has to have shipped from warehouse. If you order online for instore pick up the points won’t post until you’ve picked up.

so does that mean both installments might overlap for a time. or does the 14 days for 2nd installment track from the pick up date vs the order date?

Thanks for the heads up on that, didn’t realize, but no biggie if it’s a few extra days. I need to PM you about another tip you gave me yesterday that I don’t 100% understand. will do it later on.

  • Anyone else get a lousy Sweeps Weekly offer? Mine was $5 freecash on a Kmart/Sears order of $60 or more. I like no minimum purchase requirements.

The current offer is for dot.com only. So if you order online for instore pick up (which is what I did) you pick up the order and the pts post 24 to 48 hrs later and the 2nd set posts 14 days after the first set posted. BUT the T&C say that the 2nd set posts on Sept. 30 so you might be able to get overlap if you purchase later in the promotion. .

Thanks for pointing this out. I ordered today. Pts will post in 48 hrs so on Sept. 18 and good for 2 wks.
Next set will post on Sept. 30 should “stack”.
I also have $25 due to post on Sept. 30 from last month’s $50/$50.
Much easier to cash out $75.

They vary. The past two weeks were just freecash. Sometimes they have purchase requirements, sometimes they don’t even send an email.

Everyone got the same $5 off $60 this week though.

As a test I put 6 of these in my cart:

Charmin Ultra Strong Toilet Paper 12 Mega Rolls, 308 sheets per roll
    Sold by Kmart

and the total came to $83.94 before tax, but online it only shows me only earning 83 cents in SYW points. Why is that? Shouldn’t I have earned $75 in points? I chose in store pick up. Must the order be shipped to earn the $75 in bonus points? Or is it certain categories are excluded? Does anyone know which categories the $75 spend needs to be from to qualify?

    Answering my own question here:

Excludes Pharmacy, grocery, alcohol, tobacco, pet products, paper products, cleaning supplies, laundry care, air care, diapers, baby wipes, food storage, garbage bags, healthcare, beauty, stationery, batteries, books & magazines, greeting cards, and party supplies, gift cards, money orders, wire transfers, protection agreements, fuel prior purchases and partial-paid special order items. Offer not valid any other offer. Purchase requirement before taxes and after other discounts and must be made in a single transaction. I wish instead of listing what you can’t buy, they would list what you can buy. Home, clothes, appliances, sporting goods, tools/hardware and toys are some that may work. I guess it is pretty easy to find out by just putting items in your cart and seeing if it says you will earn points on the purchase or not. Kmart might also have a different in store offer too. When I go to Kmart I will check and report back if I see one advertised in store.

@mrvietnam I’ve never seen a KM offer that includes brand name grocery items (grocery includes pet, household cleaning, paper products, laundry, baby, etc. ) except for the specific brand offers for eg Hanes & Tide. Office/school supplies are always excluded. Pharmacy is never included anywhere we shop (e.g. RA, CVS, Wags). The only time the other “grocery” products have been included has been the offers that are only for store brands like Smart Essentials.

BUT there are “food storage” products in the housewares dept. Ziploc brand plastic storage containers are in “grocery” but Rubbermaid equivalent are in Housewares. Same thing with parchment paper-- one brand in grocery/paper goods and Wilton brand is with the baking pans. If you use a FoodSaver, those supplies are in Housewares.

just to clarify, those exclusions apply to the EARNING of the points, but not the redemption of the points? correct? ie, can redeem for bottled water or pet food.

correct. Once you have points they can be used on anything including clearance except the legal exclusions (lottery tickets, gift cards, postage stamps, etc.). Probably depends on state laws but I’ve used points for milk & cheese.

Not saying it was me of course but what someone else mentioned was that there was a problem with charging CRV for those that have to pay bottle deposit on water.

Makes sense, same issue at Office Depot when @MrVietnam recently stocked up on their $2 a case deal (no CRV charged) wonder if they’ll pull it off the website eventually too.

talking about on redemption, in the past I could order online and pick up at my convenience, even after the sale had ended (pick up date). now, you are forced to get to the B&M to buy them in person before sale ends.

OK. I see. I thought you were talking about the initial purchasing. On the redemption side, yes, I agree with you, that sucks.

Off topic, but I get all my bottled spring water at Office Depot. I can order online when they have a sale (like the $2 recent sale they had) and get cashback on the purchase and pay no CRV yet I can recycle the bottles, so 60 cents for a 24 pack after the dust settles, or 2.5 cents a bottle for spring water. They will be my sole provider for bottled spring water from here on out. How often does Office Depot get down to $2 for a 24 pack? Is that once in a blue moon or does it happen semi-regularly? Luckily for me during the recent sale I stocked up forty-four 24-packs, so I am set for a while at least.

uh oh Mr. V you’re beginning to sound as bad as me…

I buy stuff in adjoining state where there’s no sales tax and no CRV and return in my state where I get the nickel back. I’m more than halfway through the 40 cases of seltzer from Staples… do similar with bottled water… which is why the cats get bottled water in their fountains. Some of the water ends up being small MM after bottles are returned.

KM instore only offer is $25 back wyb $50. Now why would anyone want to do that? My thoughts exactly when I saw it… but I ended up doing it. I got 5 qt jug of Mobil One motor oil for $32xx and $20 Xmas gift that I wanted to get anyway. Submitting for the $12 Mobil One MIR. Already received the $25 back. The points are good for one month. They are overlapping/stacking with $25 I got back for the first half of the Spend $50 get $50 Sears 9/16-9/22 offer and the 2nd installment of the Spend $50 get $50 Sears end of August offer.
On Sept. 30 I’ll have $75 in points, then just $25 more to deal with on 9/30.

Motor oil is not available to order online. If not at KM or Sears I would have bought oil at WM for $22.84. I’d rather play SYWR than go to WM…

I totally agree which is why I surprised myself by going for the 50% back deal.
The big difference is usually I’m buying stuff at Sears/KM that I don’t need.
    But not this time.
If I didn’t get the oil at KM I would have been buying it at WM this week for $22.84.
If I didn’t get the Xmas gift at KM I would have been buying it on Amazon for $18.
    So I paid $50 vs. $40 but I’m getting back $25 so I "think* I saved $15.

I bring the oil to the dealership where they knock $20 off the price of the oil change because I provide the oil.

Members get $400 CASHBACK in points total over 12 Months when you spend $400 or more on qualifying Major Home Appliances, Sporting Goods, Outdoor Living and Lawn & Garden items at select Sears stores and Sears.com.

    $500, do I hear $500?
    $600?
    $700?

  • @ctujackbauer I predict $750 in SYWR points on a $500 purchase (payable in 36 monthly installments).

Maine, I have a question about paying the regular price when buying a sale item.I plan to get some of the clearanced Windex windshield wipers from Sears. It says I have to e-mail my invoice and they will give me back 10% more of the sale price within 30 days. Is this the standard way it is done? I plan to order online and pick up in store. Can I pay with points and still get the gift card with no issue? It says not valid with discounts or coupons. Is paying with SYW points considered a discount or coupon? I have some expiring SYW points today that I want to use up.

$3.96 Save $7.03 today Pay this price & save on today’s order
$10.99 & receive a gift card Pay this price & receive a Sears gift card for 10% more than you will save with the price above. Not valid with discounts or coupons.
    How it works:
Select this option & place your order. After your order is placed, email your salescheck #, first & last name, & telephone number to: saveonall@customerservice.sears.com
Please allow up to 30 days for processing.

I’ve never done it online. In store where the promo only applies in the tools dept.

I haven’t been willing to trust the system. When you do it in store you get the gc at the time of purchase. I’m usually getting $99.99 RR socket set for $29.99. That’s $77 gc and I haven’t been willing to wait for my money. . If you do it on line it says it may take up to 30 days. If you try it, LMK how it goes.

Yes, you can pay with points and get back GC. (This is not the same as spend XX get back xx in points where you need to pay with real money.)

Interesting. I saw $30 back wyb $60 on clothes. Similar offer for shoes. I see the $30 back on $30 offer. Highly recommend that you take a screen shot in case you don’t get anything back.

  • @sportsfan64 Thanks! Some Dickies jeans and a Dockers shirt fit the bill nicely!

  • So I bit the bullet and got $400 worth of tires put on today. Drove 2 hours to do the deal. Paid $400 for a set of General Grabbers, will get a $75 gift card for the rebate of installation and $300 worth of points. Got my first installment a minute after I got the receipt for the tires. Sadly, I didn’t find anything in Sears to buy. It’s the first time I’ve been in a regular Sears in years, and I couldn’t find anything to buy. It was pretty empty, both in customers and merchandise. Here’s hoping the make it until this time next year.

@briarycliffs While B&M may not have much at least you can use your points online. Do you have KM? Do you have Sears Auto Center? I’ve used points for Mobil One oil and submitted for the $12 MIR-- not to mention that the dealership knocks $20 off the price of oil change when I bring my own oil.

@MrVietnam I was thinking about the “Pay Regular Price” offer online. They might not allow payment w/ SYWR pts online. They work just fine in store-- that’s how I convert them to gc, but IDK about online. I’d be nervous about doing it online unless I was paying w/ cc or gc.

That was the closest Sears and Sears Auto Center, 2 hours away. To be fair, it was a weird auto center, attached to the store and didn’t have all the stuff that ours had before they closed. Only had one rack of stuff. My Kmart is very close, but didn’t have my kind of Mobil 1. I will probably get a bag of dog food a month with my points. I might try our Sears Hometown. I don’t remember if I can use my points there or not, I know I can’t use Freecash there, have to purchase online and the pickup in the store.
