Another 30% back ink coupon (66581, exp 11/24/22).
-
I had to call Rewards CS Supervisor so I asked about the mysterious q’s in the wallet. He said that there’s no minimum spend and if I can’t get them to apply in the cart (Invalid q message) that I can either place the order then get a refund in the amount of the q OR place the order over the phone and have the rep apply it manually. I currently have a $40 and a $86 to use. So $40/$40 and $86/$86.

BF DEAL: 50% back on ink, 30% back on toner. Online only.

Sorry for the delay in responding. Yes, the extra $40 coupon did work. My son used it yesterday.

So it looks like you get $2 per cartridge + $5 per month from the way I’m reading it.

Do you get the $5 Store Bonus (SC) for any tech recycling? I mean a cable or adaptor is worth much less than a tablet or computer. And is everyone qualify for that SC? And how long is that credit good for?
TIA

About 6 weeks after it’s issued, just like the monthly rewards.

Ordering paper towels using my Ink Rewards of $85 that expire today. Any discount codes that would work? Thanks.

if you can do it in store, you’ll do better. can price match to cheaper prices at say Walmart or Amazon, and use the 10/$30 code in store (5 digit posted elsewhere on phat). So if you have multiple rewards checks adding up to $85, split order. if just one rewards check, just one use as there’s no longer a balance Q issued on rewards.
-
Unfortunately the store is 15 miles away, and I have nothing else to do in town today and lots to do at home. Much as getting the best possible deal is desirable, this time it’s going to be an online for in-store pickup. Sigh.
-
@dionaea Make sure that you order through a CB site. For $80 you will have FS. Going to Staples website incognito and signing up for emails used to generate a code. Yopmail addresses used to work. I haven’t tried recently.

Looks like the same code as last time.

OT. We sold my Dad’s house this year. I just received a gift from the realtor: 45 empty ink carts 😁. I mentioned Staples recycling to her once but it obviously made an impression.

Coincidentally, a store manager called me today to “remind me that I have rewards available to use” (trying to get more business, I guess), completely unrelated to my visit to the store yesterday. I mentioned about the kiosk terminal which was recently removed, and I was told that the same function is available at the cash register, which is consistent with what someone else has already mentioned here, and what I have read on Reddit. Maybe I’ll try it next month to use my store-only tech recycling reward.

That may be, but I liked to spend some time at the Kiosk as I wasn’t always 100% sure what I was going to finally order (comparing prices, sizes, etc) Also, I didn’t always ship the items to myself, so needed to input another shipping address which you could do at the Kiosk. I guess I find it uncomfortable to stand there at the register going through all this, especially with others lined up behind me. Sometimes Staples cuts its nose to spite its face. I mean 3 major moves this year all have irked me 1) no more balance Q’s on rewards 2) upping the ink spend to $50 from $30 to qualify (that’s a big increase and unlike OD which lets you buy anything in the store for $10 a month to qualify, inc. free a/rewards batteries which you at least get back to spend again.
and 3) the Kiosk removal – this sounds like some pinhead move by someone in corporate who had to justify their existence to keep their job. The kiosks had been in stores for what? 20 years?

@george2001 Thanks, guys. Sigh: My local store isn’t participating in these in-store recycling bonus programs. They say they “don’t have the boxes” to do it. Pfft.
-
For me, it was a pop up on the home page.
-
When I recycle big items, they simply leave it in the cart at the front of the store.

Keep something small in your car to recycle just in case you’re near a different Staples at some point in the month. I only make a trip to my local store (5 miles) if I haven’t already recycled elsewhere that month.

@my4mainecoons Staples accepts a computer cable as a recyclable item. I have a rats nest full of old serial cables, from decades ago.
Guess what the Staples store nearest me gets added to its recycle cart each month?

Guess what the Staples store nearest me gets added to its recycle cart each month?I wish it was like ink. I could do 10-20 items a month. I have a 30 gallon tote of new in package Belkin cables which were MM with SYWR. I have another 30 gallon tote of stuff that was MM at Rite Aid when stores converted to Walgreens: power packs, USB wall chargers, smart switches, etc. I have a stack of NIB diabetes meters with USB connection that were MM at Rite Aid. Each box has a meter and 6’ USB cable. I haven’t begun on the totes or meters yet. I’m unloading larger items first: CRT monitor, fax machine, 3 650VA UPS’s, TiVo, toaster oven and corded phone so far. Still have another TiVo, photocopier, tower server, 1000VA UPS, desktop PC and maybe I’ll give up one of my 2 VCR’s. I now have a recycling bin for Tech into which I toss things as I come across them. Just added a flip phone. Recycling just 2 items a month I’m set for a few years.

Many vets offices will take the diabetes monitors. I gave all of my FAR meters to our vet. He gives them away for the pets. I am keeping my TiVos, don’t know why but I am. I can’t believe you recycled the ups recently. I used to back in the day when a new one was cheaper than a battery, but now they are like gold. The new ones aren’t very good so I keep my old ones going with new batteries.
-
@briarycliffs I used to have an office with a server and work stations all with UPS. Now the only things plugged in all the time are peripherals so I stopped using UPS.
Diabetes meters are cheap. It’s the test strips that are $$$. The best deal without insurance is the WalMart meter & strips ($9 for 50 strips) not a brand name like Accu Chek ($60 for 50 strips). For people with insurance, they get whichever brand of test strip that their insurance covers.
-
My laptops, monitors, router, etc. are all plugged into UPSes. Had 3 power glitches in one night with the recent storms.
A relative’s Ring doorbell died after a short power outage, probably because of a power surge when the power came back.
-
OK. I will replace the batteries in a 20-yr old UPS and put it on my cable modem. I don’t leave laptops plugged in. The only electronics plugged in 24/7 besides the cable modem and DSL router are a printer, a scanner and a cordless phone. Chargers are plugged into a surge protector strip. I was told that unplugging things keeps electric bills lower so I leave things unplugged when not in use.
I’ve had 3 outages in the past month. When the power came back my DSL was ok but once I had to reset the cable modem. When I turn on e.g. a tablet after outage it has switched from preferred cable to secondary DSL network. Network connectivity after power outage has never been an issue with DSL x 22 yrs.

Gooooood morning. Just wondering what y’all buy at Staples when you have rewards to burn and don’t need anything. I have enough toilet paper for Africa at this point. Any creative ideas…?
-
@jess888 I normally don’t have alot of Staples rewards, but I recently had $20 to burn. I went to Staples and found Kleenex for a reasonable sale price and Method Gel handsoap refill on clearance. (Method Gel handsoap works great in my SimpleHuman no-touch soap dispenser).
I often find household items in store that aren’t offered online and prices comparable to Target, etc…
-
@jess888 I recently got FoodSaver bags online. I used to get Ziploc bags until the prices skyrocketed. Glad bags are cheaper. Coffee, Pellegrino Limonata. I’ve been getting the $4.99 tub of Clorox wipes with the $5 from tech recycling. Dishwasher detergent, large trash bags. Gallon jugs of Windex and Mr Clean. I like the tub of Weiman stainless steel cleaner wipes.

I often find their prices are sometimes grossly overpriced (sometimes more than double what they are elsewhere), but don’t forget that they price match (and you can still place kiosk orders through the cashier)
