Does anyone know the SKU number for recycling an alkaline battery?

Does anyone know the SKU number for recycling an alkaline battery?
I recycled today. I recycled a tech item plus instead of an alkaline battery, I recycled a single new BIC Stic pen. I got a box of 50 FAR last year at Office Depot. Hopefully I will get $15 for it next month.

If I recycle 21 ink cartridges would 20 of them get $2/ea, and one of them get $5?
I’m looking at this: https://www.staples.com/stores/recycling
where ink is listed in two catagories.

They have to be entered as 2 separate line items, with the correct codes. I would recommend using something else for the $5 reward.

I had a hard time spending mine yesterday. Ended up with some clearance toys to put in the gift closet and some toilet paper. Lots of crayola stuff and stem toys clearanced. I think I will get some picture frames next month.
At Office Depot, I got a tortilla press and warmer with rewards. Lots of weird stuff for shipping. At least they have more variety of stuff.

I’ve gotten toilet paper and paper towels as well, but I’ve used Staples’ price match policy to Target/Walmart. That helps a lot.

Can I earn multiple recycling rewards in a calendar month?
Staples Rewards® members can recycle up to 7 items per day across multiple categories but will only receive one recycling reward per calendar month. During a promotional period with increased earning potential, reward amount is determined by the category with the greatest reward value associated with recycling.
Here are a few specific examples:
- Rewards member recycles an eligible battery in one calendar month and earns a $5 reward.
- Rewards member recycles an eligible technology product in one calendar month and earns a $10 reward.
- Rewards member recycles both an eligible battery and technology product in one calendar month and earns a $10 reward.
It will be interesting to find out what they have implemented in the rewards system matches this FAQ.

So it looks like I may only receive $10 and not $15.

Kiosks don’t exist anymore.
Kiosks don’t but you can still place a kiosk order with a cashier. They can do it on the tablet or on the register.

They sure make it look like we’ll get $10 + $5. Note the PLUS above the $10.

I recycled tech then on another day I recycled a pencil. Received a $10/$30 the first time but not on the 2nd visit.

@dangeruss I told an associate, “it’s on the menu, scroll down” (It’s on the menu of the items they accept for recycling). Associate asked, “Do you work for Staples?”

I actually went in with a bag of my kids broken crayons, surprisingly, the CSR knew exactly what to do with them. Now, if this pays out that extra $5 it will be great.

That “PLUS” can be interpreted in different ways. There is no $15 anywhere.

$10 for both 1 alkaline battery and 1 tech item. I read it’s limited to the higher of the 2 but not both so not arguing. Question: if I bring in 2 batteries, do I get 2x $5 or 1x ?

I recycled in early April before we knew about the $10 offer. I recycled again after April 16 and received $10 so they gave the higher of those 2.

FYI, when I recycled on Saturday, a $10/30 Q (valid Sat only) did spit out.

I called Staples to ask why we didn’t get a $10 and a $5 Reward. The rep gave me his email address and I sent him a screen shot of the ad. He checked around and no one had an answer. He said that because the program was new maybe it wasn’t working properly and to compensate me he sent a $20 Reward coupon.
p.s. They gave me Elite status since they messed something up last year. Elite has a dedicated US based customer service phone number. I wouldn’t have bothered to call if I didn’t have that number.

@mrvietnam Staples has been crazy good to me this past year. First they downgraded me from Premier to Base for no reason. Then to apologize they bumped me up to Elite. With Premier I’d received $125 Rewards for no reason but they downgraded that to $100 Rewards when I lost Premier. I used them. Then they gave me $150 Rewards when they bumped me up to Elite. There were some other freebies in there as well. I didn’t know what they were when they first appeared but others in the Staples thread had received them and used them.

Has anyone done two tech recyclings in one day? Was burning my rewards today, could’ve split them up in multiple orders, but wasn’t sure if a second tech recycling would print another $10 off $30.
