I activated a “$5 in points on your purchase, no minimum” offer on my account and made a purchase on Sunday. Anyone get this offer? How long does it take to get the $5 in the account? Thanks.

@mrvietnam this happens all the time, sometimes when they scan your barcode they scan it into the wrong field.

It appears the Staples recycling offer has changed downwards starting 5/1/25. I recycled on my two accounts this afternoon and instead of giving 500 points each for 10 cartridges ($25 in savings), they now only give 500 points for 6 cartridges ($15 in savings). I recycled 10 cartridges and I only got 3,400 points (for a total of $17 in savings vs the $25 in savings I got last month). The other 4 cartridges they gave me only 100 points each. Recycling an alkaline battery once a month still nets you 500 points (or $5). Still a good deal as the 10 carts only cost me $2 from eBay, but not as good of a deal as it was.

I have a plus account and it still states that I get 400 points for each cartridge up to 20 a month. I’ll have to check when I recycle 26 cartridges this month

That does seem to be the current offer.
Fun fact, you can still buy the plus membership, but it won’t activate. If you’re lucky, you can convince the CSR to send a ticket to activate it, but that boat may have sailed. I was able to activate 3/4 accounts.

@penguin110 Check your offers before you recycle. There are (2) recycling offers. There’s the one that everyone gets which was previously 10@500 pts and is now 6@500 pts then there’s the personalized one. My personal one was 30@400 points/month but now its 40@500 points/month. I would’ve only recycled 30 if I hadn’t checked.
I used to get 10@500 points + 30@400 points each month ($80).
This month I’ll get 6@500 points + 40@500 points ($115).My accounts that only recycle get 6@500 points + 10@100 points ($20) per month, down from 10@500 points + 10@$100 points ($30). I don’t bother recycling the 10@100 points.
OAN: I’ve had to contact CS twice recently and each time they later sent a $10/$10 coupon valid for 6 months.

Turned in 26 carts today. Got 500 points each for 6 of them and 400 points each for the other 20.

I took one for the team. I just got back from recycling twice this month because both the cartridge and battery offers were listed with the same valid dates TWICE in my account, but I only got back 600 points for my second 6 carts and nothing for the battery, so lesson learned. Even though an offer is double listed in the app, they will still only pay out once. I didn’t take a loss though because I still got 50 cents each for the second 6 cartridges (I only paid a dime a cart, so still made 40 cents each) and it answered a burning question I had.

You never know. They went from 10 carts to 6 carts without notice…but I hope the program continues as I have a box of about 350 empty cartridges sitting in my garage.
I guess we will soon see as if it is continuing it would be listed on the app. I plan to recycle on both of my accounts tomorrow. I guess the good folks on the East Coast will find out first.

@mistercheap Unlike cartridges/batteries, I see no limit per month. I visit the nearby Jewel/Dollar Tree at least 2x per week.
I also enjoy chatting up the Staples manager.Edit: the microscopic terms say limit 10 per week.

Actually, each point is worth 0.005 cents, so 50 points is worth only a quarter.

I just recycled 6 carts and an alkaline battery snd received 3,500 points, or $17.50, as expected.

I live in New Orleans, my closest store is Mobile, AL so I order everything on line and recycle online as well, they send me a prepaid label to return ink cartridges.
